I worked with Alyse add to Charlotte County National Car Rental Center and it was a fantastic experience!Alyse did a great job upgrading our vehicle and getting us processed in a timely fashion. I would definitely recommend Alyse highly and would look forward to working with her again in the future!

Upon my arrival at the counter at PGD airport, I was greeted pleasantly and expected to receive a intermediate Alamo car and was thanked for being a National member who was eligible for a free upgrade to a brand new Altima with only about 14 miles on it. It was truly a free upgrade with all fees the same including the LDW. The car was perfect. My wife and I were in South Florida to celebrate Christmas with her sister, who was, unfortunately, in the hospital unexpectedly. We ended up staying in the local area, but the car was perfect and was carefree because it was new.I give National my highest recommendation for your rental car needs

Check-in was fast, efficient, and easy to complete. Peter, at the Punta Gorda Airport, checked us in quickly when we returned the car. Our car was mechanically sound and perfect for our travels. We would definitely come back to National for our next car rental.

I frequent the Punta Gorda airport on my trips down to Florida. I always book through National. The staff there are always great both on the check-in and return. The staff are always asking for a name recognition on a survey if I thought their service was good. I applaud the staff for going out of their way to provide me with a card, so I know who they are. The problem is I never receive the surveys, so I make sure to go out of my way to leave a review somewhere and provide the recognition they are due. My last trip, Matt Diffini, checked me back in after two weeks of having the rental. Matt was very nice and made the check-in painless. Thank you very much!!

We recently had the pleasure of renting an SUV from National in Punta Gorda and our experience was absolutely top-notch, thanks to Alyse. Initially, we had reserved a Wrangler Unlimited thinking it would offer enough cargo space for our 8-day trip. However, upon arrival, it became clear that we needed something different.Alyse came to our rescue. Not only was she incredibly knowledgeable about the fleet, but she also quickly assessed our needs and made excellent recommendations. The process of swapping to a more suitable vehicle was seamless and hassle-free, thanks to her efficient and customer-focused service.Because of Alyse, we have found our new go-to car rental service in Punta Gorda. Kudos to Alyse and the National team for delivering such an exceptional customer experience. Highly recommended!

Joined the Emerald club hoping to find an easy less stressful way for my car rentals when I travel first time I used it was for a weekend never leaving the city that I rented the car from upon returning the car. My receipt that was emailed to me has now doubled and it says I return the car over 400 miles away from the city that I was in after speaking to three different people at national. I am still waiting for this to be resolved.

Been with National for two years - rent a car every week due to my work. I am an Emerald Executive Elite member due to renting cars all the time. The last 3 times I’ve gone to Punta Gorda Airport to pick up a car I am given cars that have high mileage or scuffed or smokey smelling inside. They used to offer an upgrade once in a while which was really kind and really nice however it seems that management has changed there and I don’t feel like it’s even a consideration for being a loyal weekly renter. Other National rental places in Sarasota or Ft Myers etc., are a lot more accommodating

Made a reservation prior to arriving at punta gorda airport through national car rental, emerald aisle. The wait is 1 1/2 hours at a minimum. They say they have 150 reservations and 2 people working the counter. They are currently waiting for people to drop off a rental car so someone else can get it. According to emerald aisle we should be able to enter a separate line. They have a sign that indicates that. However, we were told they can’t honor that. Poorly managed and very frustrating.

Insurance coverage was offered and I took it. Attendant told me I could call my insurance to verify my coverage then cancel the additional coverage.I tried to call 4 times with no answer. I ended up getting stuck with the extra insurance at $30 a day. Cost me $120 total. They would not resolve it even after I contacted corporate.

Got a great price for a Mustang convertible while I was in FMB. Downside was it was parked next to a tree and when we got inside ants were crawling everywhere. It took a day to be free of the ants. I would have asked for another car but after flights and waiting in line that wasn't about to happen.

As an Emarald customer I was very surprised that the upgrade I was offered was smaller than the car I booked. When I went to inspect the car the a piece of the back hatch was falling apart. Clearly anyone who cleaned the car would have seen this defect and would have repaired or taken the car out of service.
