Wyvern Hotel, part of the Ascend Hotel Collection, offers a unique stay in Punta Gorda, with a blend of charm and some dated features. Guests appreciate the clean, spacious rooms that exude a sense of luxury, complete with beautiful bathroom tiles and comfortable beds. The rooftop bar provides a lovely view, perfect for enjoying sunsets, although visitors have noted that the pool has been removed since Hurricane Ian. While many guests commend the friendly and professional staff, some have reported mixed experiences, particularly at night when staff may seem less attentive. The hotel has undergone some challenges, such as a closed road due to construction and issues with air conditioning in certain areas. Additionally, the lighting system can be confusing, and shower controls may require some adjustment. Despite these drawbacks, the hotel remains a popular choice for travelers, thanks to its reasonable prices, immaculate rooms, and convenient location for sightseeing. Overall, Wyvern Hotel continues to be a favored destination for those seeking a comfortable and pleasant stay in the area.
Thought they had a roof top pool but they didn't.... I probably would have stayed somewhere else! But the hotel was nice. Just don't count to going for a dip on a hot day....

Beautiful place on rooftop to take in surrounding scenery and have a refreshing cocktail!

The hotel is dated, and AC is really bad everywhere but your room. The staff at night seems annoyed with all. Nice view from bar on roof. Every light, including the bathroom, is on one main switch. Took a while in the dark to figure that out. You need an engineering degree to figure out the showers 3 handles.
