This school is not up to the mark, and they have changed swim instructor three times for my kid and retained student in the same level for more than 10 months. Old instructors were good and after reshuffling the instructors things are not going in the right direction. I have enquired about cancellation on 3rd day of the month and they are saying you should inform the first day of the month else it can be cancelled next month only which is ridiculous. This confirms that they are money minded.

Watermelon Swimming School has been an absolute game-changer for our family. Our son's love for swimming has flourished, and the wealth of knowledge he gains from this school has given us tremendous peace of mind whenever he's around water. What sets Watermelon apart is their commitment to safety. Conducting safety drills in December is a brilliant initiative. Watching our child confidently swim in regular clothes during these drills showcases the level of preparedness and skill that Watermelon instills in each student. It's not just about swimming; it's about ensuring our little ones are equipped for any water-related situation.A special shoutout to Gio, whose remarkable patience and caring approach have made a significant impact on our son's learning journey. His dedication to each child's progress is truly commendable. In summary, Watermelon Swimming School goes beyond just teaching swimming; it's a comprehensive approach to water safety and skill development. We wholeheartedly give it a solid 5 stars and highly recommend it to any parent seeking quality swim lessons for their child.

My 2 year old twins absolutely love coming to Watermelon swim. Mr. Ethan is so great with them! He is very patient, kind, and can always make them giggle. Ms. Lindsey at the front desk has such a beautiful smile and energy every morning when we come in. I also appreciate that they have someone (idk her name) walking around the pool during lessons as an extra set of eyes. The facility is always clean as well!

I was skeptical at first, but my 9 year old son has been going there for almost 2 months with a 100% turnaround. He started not knowing how to swim, but the instructors use good teaching techniques and being in a group of other kids helps. My only regret is not signing him up sooner.

We absolutely love our watermelon swim classes! Our baby is learning how to safely float and get out of the pool with the help of such caring instructors. You honestly can't put a price on survival skills for your little one! The way they also incorporate fun in the classes keeps our one year old engaged to help with learning. Definitely recommend to any age swimmer!

My son absolutely loves this swim school. The instructors are nice and take great care of the kids. I love that it’s indoors and has the glass to be able to watch everything my son is doing. I absolutely recommend Riverview watermelon swim to anyone in the area with little and big kids alike!

I am so happy I found watermelon swim! My daughter is still level 1 but has become so much more comfortable in the water, she is able at 2 years old to swim up after jumping in the pool, swim to the edge. She also loves it so much, she looks forward to classes. SJ, the swim teacher is incredible and over all the entire staff is friendly and welcoming!

My son loves coming to Watermelon Swim, he especially looks forward to seeing Miss Chanel and Miss Lindsay! They’re so patient and amazing with the kiddos and I feel like he learns more and more each time he goes to swim class. He’s improved so much in such a short amount of time, I wholeheartedly recommend the Riverview location.

Watermelon swim instructors at Riverview are awesome. My 4 and 11 year old are learning so much. Initially my 4 year old was so scared now he gets so excited to come. My kids are going to different instructors but everyone are awesome. I would definitely recommend!

We started our daughter at Watermelon Swim initially when she was 7 months old. We started with parent tot swim and it was a fun, valuable experience to get her used to the water. We loved the friendly, knowledgeable instructors and the front office staff. More recently, we reenrolled our now 4 year old in March of this year and her progress has been amazing! We have had phenomenal instructors like Ms. SJ and Ms. Shanel that have given our baby girl confidence in the water. I highly recommend.

We have been coming to the Riverview location since it opened. Our child started at a low level but with instruction from Kim, Emily, Estaban, Albert, Sofia and so many more we are now almost Swim Team Prep! Our child loves coming and feels a connection with many of the instructors. The instructors do an excellent job of informing us of what they worked on in class and really encourage the student to try their best. It is wonderful that this is an indoor pool, so Florida weather be darned! No rain outs! Go in one day and check them out, the front staff will answer all your questions! (They do adult classes too!!!)

Our little one started off with some struggle, but Ms. SJ has been very attentive to our child and everyone else in the class. Her patience with the kids is truly next level. She makes the lesson fun and educational! I highly recommend enrolling your kid(s) here as early as possible.

We have been using Watermelon Swim since last year and there are pros and cons to our experience but ultimately the cons outweigh the pros for us and we have cancelled. Our son started with parent tot classes, he graduated both levels and is now in level 1. Our son is now two years old and started at around 15 months. We pay a little under $30 a group class which consists of approximately 3 toddlers for 30 minutes which our child probably obtains maybe 7 min of instruction in level 1. You pay on the 15th for the upcoming month in advance, and you can’t cancel until the end of the following month (it feels like those subscription services that suck you in after a free trial).- Our biggest grief with this company is the strict attendance culture. You’re allowed 1 makeup token a quarter (3 months). This includes planned vacations or emergencies. Regardless of the reason you’re allowed 1 absence which you’re able to make up without loosing your money. It would make more sense for make up tokens to be for last minute situations where you miss a class.(Severe sickness) My son was in the ICU and stayed in the hospital for a week. He didn’t even eat actual food for 3 weeks. I called watermelon swim notifying them of the situation weekly and they were aware he wasn’t coming to class. There was no way to “pause” payments or enrollment, no way to get any kind of refund or credit on our account for a future month. Only option was to argue with management and request makeup tokens after providing hospital documents. The worst part is the makeup tokens had to be used in conjunction with his current class so a baby (18m) who gets stressed out every class and is just recovering from severe dehydration and loss of weight would have to come in twice a week. Only solution they provided was to give us a little more time to use the makeup tokens.(Vacation) Fast-forward I notified the company that we would be going on vacation and he would miss two classes a month in advance. Again you only get 1 makeup token even if you give them notice and it’s a scheduled event.(Regular sickness) my son had diarrhea and I opted to have him stay home. I called but since we used our one makeup token for our family vacation we just loose our money for that class. I said okay so should I have brought him in with diarrhea and you turn me away? The response was “that’s what the reusable diapers are for”.Class quality-(Parent tot) the structure consists of baby and parents in the pool together following the instructor. My husband and I thought the parent tot classes 1/2 were great. Our son showed substantial development. We appreciated the structure that the class provided and our instructor was caring and patient. It showed my husband and I also what to do to help encourage our sons development. So I would highly recommend the parent tot curriculum and structure at watermelon swim. We did not feel like class size was an issue.(Level 1) This is very different since the children go with the instructor without the parents and do group class in a group of about 3 toddlers. They sit in the edge of the pool waiting their turn within the group. We have not seen much of any advancement in our son in the 3 months he’s been in level 1. For instance he does not like floating, they tell me every week but no continuation is made to help him with that skill. The majority of the class is spent watching the other children, crying, or playing with toys. While there is some value in watching others … $30 for maybe 7 minutes of actual practice is very expensive. Swimming survival requires muscle memory and practice. During parent tot as a parent you were able to work on your child’s development while the instructor divided her time doing the 1-1 rounds so the children both watched and actively engaged the entire time. That was a lot more beneficial in my opinion than siting on a ledge playing with a ball.. we can do that at home.Scheduling-This is actually a pro for us. They have many class times throughout the week and the online portal is very useful.

I had a substitute swim instructor on Saturday at the Wesley Chapel location and her name was Libby and she was fantastic with my child. I really wish she was a full-time instructor at this location but she told me that she is a full-time instructor over in Riverview, she is very knowledgeable, and I really appreciated all of her hard work with my child!
