BUYERS BEWARE.
Do not buy a used boat from Boaters Exchange. You will pay at least 10-20% more than buying directly from a private seller and get NO added value or reduced risk in return.
I bought a 2018 Regal 23 OBX from Boaters Exchange in Rockledge. Paid $59,500 for it. Not cheap! Two weeks later on first use, the power steering pump went out. Had to pay them $2100 to repair as they would not honor an existing problem on a boat I just bought from them.
There is no way they didn’t know the steering pump was bad at the time of my purchase. Steering oil was pooled up in the transom but I trusted them since they ensured me they went over the boat extensively. I assumed the oil puddle was from purging the system. How stupid I am to trust them.
They even said the steering is much easier now after the new pump. What does that statement tell you? They obviously knew it was too hard to start with!!
Also told me the owner did the 100 hr service on the Yamaha engine himself with no recorded proof of that. Again, I trusted them without written record, so who knows at this point. Oh, but they would be glad to sell me a $3500 engine warranty in case they were selling me an unserviced engine.
If you think buying a boat from a dealer is worth the higher cost, you will be sadly disappointed. They will hide existing defects as much as a private owner.
Fast forward a month and I still didn’t have my boat or trailer registration and my temporary expired. Original owner had not paid off the boat yet and title was not clear. I had to get a new temporary until the bank would release the title. Thought I was buying a boat from a dealer with a clear title. Not so!
Update: In response to the owner’s reply below, I seriously question that I received free labor yet it cost me $2100 for a hydraulic steering pump. I received the part at cost and paid for the labor. Let’s be accurate here folks. If BE would like this to be true, I will gladly accept a refund of the labor I paid. Let’s see if that happens…haha. Honesty is a virtue, I believe.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Service dept is a absolute joke. I call for updates and it is bothering them. I followed up today and they had gotten responses earlier in week from manufacture and said they were to busy to update me. I am blown away at how little they care. Do yourself a favor and go to another dealer

Luis and boaters exchange are the best! We drive from Deland to Cocoa because there’s no better place to take care of our Yamaha 252!

They changed the trim motor on my outboard. Only two years later, trim is again not working. I am never going there if I don't absolutely have to.

The whole crew up at Boater’s exchange goes above and beyond in customer service! I’ve dealt with them a few times from having a trolling motor installed to repowering my Yamahas. The salesman are great and so are the techs! Paul is a great leader and very thorough in making sure warranties are provided and covered and when installing making sure absolutely everything is perfect! 5 star service! Highly recommended.

Purchased a new Cobia center console from them. Our salesman Mitch was very good, Tanya in the finance was absolutely amazing and finally Brad who did our sea trial was just the type of guy you want when you're taking a new boat for the first time. I'm a seasoned boater, so this wasn't my first rodeo, but the whole team (and unfortunately I'm not remembering everyone's names) was welcoming and easy going. I would definitely recommend Boaters Exchange in Rockledge and I'm sure this won't be my last deal with them. Nice to see some old school customer service again.

Just picked up my Minn Kota trolling motor from service. Luis helped me from start to finish. He made the process a breeze, was very professional, and got my boat back on short notice before a tournament. They aren't just a service center.. They're fisherman, which makes a world a difference. Thank you!!

We searched for a very long time for the right boat and the right dealer, and it took me and my husband a couple years to pull the trigger on buying a vessel. Paul at Boaters Exchange immediately treated us like we were his relatives, offered us terrific pricing, but blew us away with his personal investment in our happiness. In addition to giving us a comprehensive full day orientation on our new boat, our first few weeks of boat ownership/being out on the boat, he took calls on his cell phone on weekends to help us with questions, voluntarily checked in, and when they say “family operated” this really is. Further, his warranty department has been excellent with odds and ends that inevitably come up on every single boat, no matter the price point. Paul is now like family to us and we couldn’t be more grateful for the wonderful experience we had and this beautiful, brand new Cobia 301.

Love this place... Ok, i confess, I've been a partner here for almost two decades... So I have a bit of bias. Even still, we have a great team of dedicated peeps. Thank you customers. Also, please know that some of the negative reviews are friends of one actual customer who we managed to make unhappy and subsequently launched a massive internet smear campaign.... they are not all actual customers. I'm sad that we did not make everyone completely satisfied... but I promise we will continue to try our best. By the way, come see me at Boaters Exchange, mention this review to me, and I'll give you a small BE gift personally. Happy Boating!
