While driving on 275, on our way to our son’s graduation in Miami, our minivan started flashing “check system” — not something you ever want to see on a long roadtrip.
Somehow, the stars aligned for us. The flashing light happened right before the exit — and when we pulled off the highway, the first shop we found was Proctor’s.
Long story short, the kind folks at Proctors were able to, in less than five minutes, diagnose our issue and give me an amazingly fair price to have our alternator replaced.
Beyond that, knowing we had a graduation to attend that same day, they jumped into action and told us they’d have us back in the road in two hours.
The phrase “the kindness of strangers” is so undervalued. The folks at Proctors made what could have been a horrendous experience into something manageable. They did so with kindness and care. Their price was more than fair — far less than I had anticipated. The speed in which they acted to get the car fixed so we could make graduation — I just have no words.
I cannot more highly recommend this shop. I’m so very grateful for their service.

Proctor auto may be good mechanics but misdiagnosed my vehicle problem and cost me 1300 dollars for nothing I asked if there advice would fix my issue with my truck they assured me it would got my truck back and it has the same damn issue what a waste of our time and my money I do not recommend these guys whatsoever

Keith at Proctor is my new AC guru among other mechanical issues that have been plaguing my 3 vehicles. This year he will have put in a new blower motor, evaporator, and compressor on 3 vehicles of mine! Great guy to have on standby for my mechanical needs.

After having issues with my battery, I went to Napa as that is where the previous one was purchased. Once receiving a new battery for free, as it was covered under warranty, I was told to come here and they would put the battery in for me. When confirming with Proctor's, the man on the phone was very nice. However, when I parked my car, my car died. When the man came to greet me, he was very disrespectful and had an attitude, asking how I expected him to do anything if my car was shut off. When all was said and done, he came out to tell me it was my alternator instead and collected the $30 to install the battery and sent me on my way. He told me I could drive home but needed it to be towed to VW. My car was taken to VW and after their diagnostic testing, they found that it was NOT my alternator but a bad battery. Granted the mechanic was given the battery, I'm not sure why it wouldn't have been tested before placing it in my car; and why was I given a diagnosis that wasn't even remotely correct?? Overall, I am very displeased with service and do not recommend.

I have brought two cars to the shop and I am happy with both results. From a simple oil change to shocks and struts replaced. I’ve had no complaints and pricing was very fair. Through no fault of the shop the wait on parts was a little longer than expected. Keith kept me in the loop and let me know when the parts would be there which is always appreciated. I will continue being a repeat customer!

On two separate occasions while staying in Florida I experienced unexpected automotive problems. Proctor Automotive took the time actually show me what the defective was, explained what was needed to fix it and exactly how much it would cost. I was provided timely, efficient service at a fair price. I highly recommend this automotive shop. Thank you Keith.

Not very happy with the service. Dropped my daughter's car off, advised of hesitation issues. Received a call back in 2hrs and was advised the crank sensor and it would cost $137 with parts and labor; gave the go ahead. Received a call back in the evening to say the car is ready and can be picked up the next morning. Sent my daughter and she was given a bill of $521 with a charge of $400 for a diagnostic check. Spoke to the mechanic via speakerphone who claimed I gave him the go ahead and he never advised me of that diagnostic charge. The mechanic went on to say he will take the part back off and that my daughter can pick up the car the next day the way it was dropped off. Very unprofessional as my daughter indicated that she will pay; she was just asking him why so much as I had told her the $137 price that he originally told me for the sensor.

Went to Proctors for an Alternator replacement. Fast, friendly, and affordable service. We were quite pleased that it didn't take weeks to get in, weeks to repair or thousands of dollars. We were able to drop it off next day and it was complete a couple of days later (including time to get parts). A+

These people replaced the radiator on my daughters car after stating they checked to make sure the engine was okay. $600 later she drove off the lot and the engine began overheating, turned around & immediately took it right back. The mechanic said he didn't do a chemical test to make sure the engine was alright (to begin with,) and the head gasket was blown!! My daughter is a single mother with 3 children, and they didn't offer to make things right or fix the damages! FIND YOURSELF A REPUTABLE MECHANIC!
