Staff were great, car options were limited, and the car I got was only half full of gas when i picked up. My main complaint is that there is no after hours drop box. Please install one for those of us with crazy schedules. That's a major deterrent against me coming back.

Had reservation, went to pick up car and guy said he called(no calls on my phone, no cars available. Had me call customer service and they sent me to another location. No cars. Changed reservation to pickup on Monday versus Saturday. Have no number to call before I Uber over, so not sure what will happen.

Don’t waste your time. These dudes must not need the business. Called all their listed numbers during business hours, no answer. Went down to the rental agency, I can hear a guy doing paperwork behind the partition. There’s a clipboard up that says call this number for service and a sign that says ring bell for service. Called the number, no answer. Rang the bell, no answer. Called out to the guy clearly shuffling paperwork and stapling things behind the partition. Not only does he not answer but all sound stops like he’s holding veeeery still. Would have been comical if it wasn’t annoying. Don’t bother.

No direct access to pull in, you first have to pull into a hotel via a gate then drive thru a parking lots to get to the avis rental. But friendly guy inside to handle all rentals

Based on our experience, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. We went with Avis because they were the only option open on a Sunday. We made our reservations months in advance, but when we went to pick up the car, they didn't have our requested car seat available. None of their sister locations were open either, so we ended up canceling the reservation and scrambling to find another company with a car and carseat available.

I had a reservation, arrive at location,the person who was working had a bad attitude when came in.She told me there wasn't any cars on the lot but there were at least 12 of them.The whole process was a disappointment.

I have to give Danielle a good rating. She is doing here Job and she is not responsible for the lack of Cars at the moment.But I can tell you, if you want to hire a Car here, you better reserve it a few Days or weeks before you need it. Actually you better dont reservate a Car here. Avis really should stop rentimg Cars here if they can not improve the Situation.For us, everything went fine, we even got a bigger Car than booked…

I am not happy about this rental experience. My original rental was through Budget, which I kept for a month, which was the maximum length to keep the rental. When I went back to the property to start a new rental, I was unknowingly switched to Avis due to it having the lower rate, but I did not have rewards with Avis and didn't know it was switched to Avis until I received the rental agreement and was told it couldn't be switched back to Budget, where I had an awards account with. I called customer service after creating a rewards account for Avis to ask about getting the rewards account added to the new reservation when I was told the property had to add the rewards. I then called the property where I was told that it was customer service that had to add it. So I called customer service back and was told they could add the rewards after the rental agreement was closed, they couldn't add it while I had the car. Now that I have returned the vehicle, I called customer service again and am being told I can only get part of the rewards, I can get the points added to my profile, but not the 10% Amazon gift card. My rental totaled out to $976.18 and I cannot get my $97 gift card because of this lack of communication. I am not happy at all.

I had been to all the other car rental agencies in St. Pete Beach, after being disappointed at the initial place didn't have the car I had reserved ahead of time. I was told that I could drive to Tampa to see if they had a similar vehicle there. I stopped at the Avis location on Gulf Blvd and told Shadae what had happened to me. She checked some things out and made some adjustments and provided me with the perfect vehicle! This was without any fussing or negativity on her part at all!! She was the perfect model of customer service and was so pleasant to deal with! I know where I'll be going the next time a similar need I know where I'll go! Thank you, so much, for helping me with my troubles! Well done!!

Completely ruined my vacation. Had a reservation for a vehicle and they closed early. I had to call an Uber to get back to my resort. They never called to say they were closing early or there was an issue. When I called customer service they said there was nothing they could do as the facility canceled my reservation more than 2 hours before. I was unable to get to Tampa since every car rental place that wasn't closed was completely sold out for the weekend. If you are looking for a reliable provider then look elsewhere. Normally I use Avis though my job, however I did notice this location is privately owned so beware.

I rent a lot of cars through my companies account. We give a lot of business to Avis and this was by far the worst experience I have had with renting a car. When I show up at my reserved time to pick up a car, I was literally laughed at and told they gave away the car I reserved. I thought it must be a joke. It wasnt. They really brought no solutions to the table and advised that I can just drive to the airport - 45 minutes away to pick up another car. Customer service was non-existent. When they did "find" a car, it was dirty, had a big dent in it and there was no walkthrough but instead just threw me the keys.. I will never go here again and I would advise others to do the same.

RANT TIME: Do not. I repeat DO NOT USE @avis for your rental car needs. I booked a car on Saturday at the St. Pete beach location and planned to pick it up at 1pm. I get a call 30 minutes before 1 telling me they don't have any cars and that I would have to change my location pick up to another Avis. I switched locations to St. Pete and was told they had a car for me but it would be another $40 at this location (SCAM ALERT!) and I hesitantly agreed because I needed a vehicle. I Uber to this location and they tell me they don't have any cars. So I'm stranded at this new location and they tell me to try the airport. Mind you, NONE of these locations answer the phone when you call them, so I had no choice but to Uber to the airport and pray for a car. Once at the airport they tell me they don't have the vehicle I reserved but they can give me "an upgrade" for free. Oh and that because I was picking up from the airport it was going to be another $100! I agreed, go out to the "upgrade" they gave me to get into a filthy dirty Toyota Corolla. There are stains on the seat and carpet, nothings been wiped down (the steering wheel was black when I hit it with a wet wipe) and the wind shield wipers barely work and it was pouring rain at the time! I go back inside and now there's a line of about 50 people. I flag down the guy at the counter that just gave me the keys and he says he has to get the other cars out to the people who just arrived and if anything's left then he can probably switch my vehicle out with a new one. I told him not to worry about, I didn't want to wait an hour and hope there was something left for me or give the car up and not get a replacement. I went to the car wash and cleaned the car out myself. Long story short, avoid using Avis if you need a rental car. Their customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with. The fact that they are selling a service they don't have and allowing people to book vehicles at specific properties where no vehicles exist should be against the law. I saw multiple people in the same situation as me, promised a car and then stranded and forced to pay more money just to get the same vehicle they prepaid for at a promised rate. This company is running a huge scam and should be avoided at all costs!
