I was visiting my mom in St. Pete, and was able to drop in for a great Sunday morning workout. Jake was awesome! The gym was very inviting and friendly; multiple people came up to talk. You won’t regret checking this place out! #Bubblebutt

It was easy to sign up. Jake's facility is well organized and clean. He led a fun class with great time management. It's easy to see his professionalism and pride for the sport and his business.

I started going to CrossFit 9 in November 2023, I never did CrossFit before. From all the coaches to the members made me feel welcomed. I learned to not compare myself to others but just myself. Listening to my body on movements. I feel more energetic and fit my clothes better. I am still growing and excited to continue. I feel so good my son who is in high school joins me on the weekend for the class. To name a few of all the great coaches…… Jake, Zack, Chris, Bryon, Taylor, and Gabe.

Lost Its Welcoming Vibe and Turned into a Globo-GymI'm deeply saddened to share my experience with CrossFit 9, a place that I once considered a vibrant community and a second home. My journey began with great enthusiasm, drawn in by the challenging workouts and the supportive, inclusive atmosphere. However, my once-positive view of this gym has been significantly tarnished by a combination of personal injuries, ongoing billing disputes, and a noticeable shift in the gym's social environment. In recent years, the gym has lost much of its welcoming charm, morphing into a space where cliques dominate and the sense of community has waned. The warm greetings and encouragement that were once hallmarks of every session have been overshadowed by exclusivity, making it increasingly difficult for newer members or those not part of these inner circles to feel included. This was starkly highlighted when I, despite being a long-standing member, faced outright coldness from individuals I've known for years, drastically changing the gym's once-friendly vibe.A particularly disheartening moment came when I was removed from the gym's social media group after expressing interest in purchasing equipment that was up for sale, a move that felt unnecessarily exclusionary and petty. My time at CrossFit 9 has also been marred by significant injuries, including two cracked disks and a torn shoulder. While I recognize the inherent risks of high-intensity training, the lack of communal support during my recovery added a layer of isolation to the physical pain, making the experience even more challenging.Additionally, the administrative side of the gym has been a consistent source of frustration. Billing disputes have been frequent, adding unnecessary stress and detracting from what should be a straightforward and enjoyable gym membership experience.CrossFit 9 once epitomized the essence of community and shared growth, but the shift towards a more impersonal, "globo-gym" atmosphere, coupled with the issues I've faced, compels me to reconsider my membership. I hope this feedback prompts meaningful changes, restoring the gym's sense of community and improving its administrative practices. I will never recommend people to this establishment.

Nice equipment, nice facility, cool coaches, cool owner and a good time. I also liked they had romwod available after workouts. Met some cool ppl here. This place is over the top though. When it's Christmas time, they are SUPER Christmas. When it's gay pride month, they are SUPER gay. I think they're trying too hard. It's ridiculous that members must pay to take the extra classes on the weekend. It's already super expensive, why make the members pay even more to attend? I also despised how before every workout they make you shake hands/greet everyone before the workout begins. CrossFit9 makes me uncomfortable. Thankfully, there are a lot of other CrossFit gym options in the area and they are not over the top like this place.Edit: Y'all have fun with that big gay Christmas. I'll enjoy not being apart of it. The weekend classes y'all charge members extra for were "clinic classes" on pull ups or muscle ups, etc. Those classes cost an extra $20-25 for paying members and I don't remember anything about charities. You can chalk the added fee up to a charity or whatever but either way paying members must pay more to attend these beneficial classes. I was bummed I couldn't attend them due to the extra fee. These kinds of classes are free to paying members at other CrossFit gyms I've been at.

Worked out at "globo gyms" most of my life.. never really understood the hype of group workouts or crossfit. Man, I was missing out. I've been going to CF9 for ~2 years now and it feels like a second home. Everyone (coaches and gym-goers) are super friendly and all around great people. Would recommend to anyone from a seasoned vet to someone who has never picked up a weight in their life.

Left my gym of 5-6 years down in Bradenton when I moved up to St. Pete. I was searching for a new home to get some lifts in and this was the best place. The coaches are cool and knowledgeable and they have open gym! The price is fair and the members are cool! Love it.

Kicked things off with amazing training sessions with Gabe. He’s the best. Now, enjoying a combo of 9fit & CF and loving every minute of it. The classes are challenging and varied, the athletes are great, and the coaches are fantastic. The cherry on top? Joe-ga. Joe’s yoga classes are the first yoga classes I’ve enjoyed in a long time (& I’ve been doing yoga off/on for 20+ years).Highly recommend all of the above.
