I had pretty bad experience with Dollar. We rented a car and while we were on our way car battery died on us. Even though we had to take care of the battery ourselves, find the repair shop and pay for the repair, we did not get our money back for the repair cost. I personally find this unacceptable.

The woman who answered the phone was the MOST rude and non qualified individual to be working for anyone’s company! It was as if my calling and inquiring about their credit check was a total inconvenience. When I told her I would be paying with a debit card, she then went on a tirade about how “We got them bad, us debit card users” during Covid and that’s why I must do a credit check. The woman was so upset at the world that she didn’t understand I was simply asking if I could run the credit check PRIOR to the rental because i couldnt afford to book with them and then be turned away the day of rental. i will NEVER try to rent anything from them again. I wouldnt even rent a roll of toilet paper to whipe my rear end from them because of that woman.

Made online reservations… within 15 minutes of making reservation we arrived at car rental and they claimed they didn’t have a car to rent us and that though they saw our online reservation they don’t have to honor it …. Sooo we were out of our visit to family for dinner and won’t ever use Dollar Car rental in at Pete beachNo doubt it was because it was 25 minutes til they closed and didn’t want to deal with the paperwork10/8/23

I return the car today and I had to deal with the manager Tracy. She's very rude did not know how to deal with people.She dose not know how to corresponded and engage in conversation about the transaction very rude. I will never go back there again I will give props to the man that opens the store. He's a fantastic guy. Very nice.. that lady was not right very rude.Daniel Bass

Beware of the extra fees! Thought we got a good deal on the SUV rental until we returned it this morning and was charged $200 more for an extra driver - for a husband and wife to drive the vehicle ($13.99 a day $135 plus $50+ taxes). Next time we will go back to Enterprise Rent a Car for this exact reason. To charge that much extra for a spouse who has the same insurance to drive the car is a pretty steep fee. The guy Charlie who checked us in and out was friendly. The vehicle itself was very nice. Also after just reading the policies online on extra drivers, the employee did not let us know that for disabled drivers and AAA members the extra driver fee is waived - which applies to us - oh well - guess we are just out $200.

We rented 2 vehicles from this place on the same day and they tried to rip us off. We rented 1 car for 1 day, added a second driver and was told the total cost would be $57. When we returned it the next day they said their computers were down and would email me the receipt. When they charge hit the card the total was about $150. They claimed the vehicle came back with no gas and there was a $50 charge for adding a second driver. We were told that it was $44 for the car for the day and the total cost would be $57 after all the additional fees. The car came back with a full tank and they straight up lied about the total cost. The second vehicle we rented was for the rest of the week. The next day I called and asked how much it would be to add the toll road service to the rental. Tracy, the owner, said her computer was still down and to call her the next day if I wanted to add it because I was only considering it and wanted to know how much it would be. We never called her back to add it and low and behold when we turned the car in she added it AND there was the unexpected charge for the second driver. I’m lucky I turned it in at a different location because I bet she would have tried to claim it was returned with an empty tank. This place is shady af. Do not trust them and give your business to a more reputable company.

Worst rental car experience of my life and we travel alot! 55 minutes before the first shuttle went through the airport. I ended up walking to the rental building and leaving my mom with my kids at the airport. An hour and a half in line to get the car. The car was dirty and dented and scratched. The workers were some of the most miserable people I've ever met. One man trying to intimidate me because I didn't know how to get out. It was poorly marked and cars just parked randomly. I would rather pay double and never have that experience again. Just horrible!!!!

No reason to pre-check in they don't have any cars and they are just unbelievably slow.To wait in line this long for someone to be lying to you saying they have cars when they don't makes no sense checked in for no reason.Told after you PAID to wait 1 hourWill never use this company again at least not at this Airport.3 pm reservation 6 pm after they have been payed they have you and your money I will repost every month for the next 6 months

Rented a car from dollar at st Pete location 25 mar, 2023 for 4 days. Saw many bad reviews before picking it up so l was leary, but zero problems for me. Staff was freindly and fast at pickup and drop off. No surprise fees and car nice and clean. Would rent and recommend any time.

I am dissatisfied, wasn't told there's an additional charge of $13.50 for a second driver a day, called the office where we rented it, they said nothing they could do, call customer service, they said they couldn't take it off my bill, said, call back where you rented it, just pass the buck!!!!!

READ THE REVIEWS! This place and the miserable, unprofessional woman at the front desk is THE WORST. Rude, impatient. The day before Christmas of all days... Told us at 4 times that she tells people not to do pre-paid AFTER we pre-paid. Once we established they didn't have a Delorian to resolve that problem... She told us we needed to cancel that pre-paid, with zero knowledge that we'd be charged a fee for that. Wanted to do a new reservation, so she'd get the commission on it I imagine. We walked out and paid $30 more per day, for likely a nicer vehicle, at Enterprise on E. Bay in Largo - WELL WORTH IT. They were phenomenal. We have a Hertz charge on our credit card for this nonsense. Trying to get a refund is a nightmare so we'll likely be filing a charge back dispute. No matter how good the deal seems... Save yourself the misery and go elsewhere.

Horrible customer service F***** UP MANAGER never will go back both cars I rented was dirty and trying to blame me the last car kept cutting off at the light and when I take it back he say somebody been smoking in the car but who I dont smoke and he want me to pay $400 for deep cleaning he got me messed up but they will hear from my lawyer !!But I should of knew it was something about that man when I got the rental he said the car is your responsibility like I don't know that then when I was walking out the door he said $400 cleaning fee he was saying before I even took the car when I turn it in you out there for 3seconds and come back talking $400 dollars you crazy I will call his boss

Don is the BEST!!! After waiting 2 days on a car from Enterprise, I googled and decided to call Dollar and they did not disappoint!!! Don was the best and got me into a nice car for what I feel was a very reasonable price! I was very pleased with my service from him and will be preparing to pick up another car from them today. My only complaint would be for Jeffrey. When I returned my car he wasn't very friendly at all and had a "I don't want to be here today attitude". When working with the public a positive attitude is a MUST!!! Nonetheless, we all have our days but please remember what you signed up for Jeffrey!!!!! Have an amazing day!
