Definitely reserve in advance. FYI there is no agent at the counter. Keys are at the airport desk. Not a huge selection onsite either. My car was delivered 10mins late but transaction went smooth. Delivered back to Tampa international.

Terrible terrible experience! Reserved a car 2 days in advance to go to my family for thanks giving after my flight. But the office was empty! No one! I called Hertz and they said there is nothing they can do, someone had to be there and someone was not! They advised me to go to an airport 20 miles away to check whether they have any available cars! What an irresponsible service both by the local office and the customer service! NEVER EVER AGAIN I WILL USE HERTZ TO BOOK A CAR!

We rented a car from here for our road trip. I put down a 1pm pick up. They called me at 10 about my rental. I asked if we could make it 12 since we would be in the area. They agreed and said the keys and paperwork would be at the sheltair desk across the lobby. I got there at noon and the keys and paperwork were not there. I called back and they said they would be down in 15min. It is now an hour past when they said they could have the car ready and 45min past when they said they would be here. The people at the airport says everyone who rents from here waits a long time. If you rent from here don't say you weren't warned.
