Lowes does not actually have delivery and installation staff, they outsource this to a 3rd party company who won't actually do the full job.
We purchased a refrigerator with delivery and installation. They arrive, look at my existing fridge and say they can't even disconnect a waterline from my old fridge they are hauling away. Meanwhile, while we are arguing about the f*ing water line, my groceries are sitting, melting on the counter while they throw up their hands and say "policy" prevents them from touching this waterline. I am able bodied with my own tools so I begrudgingly, hustled to do it (as they coached me because clearly they DID know what to do EYEROLL) but what if I was an 80 year old lady? You just going to stand there or do you you really expect someone to get on the ground because "your policy" states that Lowes won't let you do that? The delivery company blames Lowes because they are not Lowes. I don't care WHO you are. I bought the appliance from Lowe's, Lowe's should be taking accountability for their delivery company. It's completely preposterous.
You are not actually providing customer service, you are arriving with problems you are forcing your customers to solve in the moment. The excuse is "we aren't plumber", well you know what? ME NEITHER. How about YOU solve this problem vs angering 90% of the customers your install appliances for. Here's a brain busting idea, give your installers some very basic training on how to disconnect and hook up refrigerator water lines and actually FINISH THE JOB, there are about 3 different ways to do it with simple hand tooks, we aren't building rockets here. Instead you throw up your hands behind the excuse of not being a plumber. No one expects a plumber and you could easily have customers sign a waiver limiting your liability. Do better.
I wouldn't recommend anyone buy appliances you need installed because they simply WON'T INSTALL THEM. Good grief. Have some accountability. We shouldn't accept this level of incompetence as consumers. I will buy my appliances from a reputable appliance shop that has staff members who deliver and INSTALL everything without making it my problem.
Oh and after all this drama, the guys didn't screw the handles on my fridge so the first time I grabbed it, the handle jerked down scratching the door AND a door came "pre dented" with 2 dents clear as day on the left door.
To add icing on the cake, the "manager" of the delivery team called tried to browbeat me into making sure I gave their delivery team a "10" and make me feel guilty by saying that the delivery drivers bonuses are tied to their scores. ..."anything 9 or less is like a 0". The gaul.

Spent over an hour choosing $500-700 worth of merchandise and plants. Gave up and left the store after waiting over 15 minutes to try to pay and check out....with long lines at both the outside and inside checkouts. Very frustrating!

Awesome experience with Lowes delivery which was complete opposite of an order that had to be cancelled after two failed delivery attempts from their competitor. Lowes sends messages updating appropriate delivery times and the drivers personally call to make the process easy. I can’t believe how the delivery experience is 180 degrees from the orange home improvement store!

This isn’t about this store as much as it is about the experience with 2 Lowe’s locations in Florida this week. I bought 2 - 3 aH Dewalt batteries on Thursday for $99. When at this location 2 days later I saw the same batteries but 4 for $129. I had such buyers remorse because I could’ve doubled my order for 30% more than I paid. Unfortunately, even though I had the receipt and the batteries I purchased, still in new condition, they would not accept my return because I didn’t have the box. It’s unfortunate that 2 Lowe’s locations, not that far away from each other, have such a vast difference of product and price for a very common item. I’m a pro member contractor who spends a lot of money at Lowe’s. Maybe I need to start checking Home Depot and not just keep giving all my business to Lowe’s

I’m sorry to hear about your awful experience with Lowe’s delivery team. Here’s a draft of a review based on your experience:
Horrible Delivery Experience – Do Not Use Lowe's Delivery Team!
My wife and I were eagerly anticipating a delivery of two appliances from Lowe’s, scheduled for a 11 AM to 3 PM window. I took time off work to meet the delivery team, but by 3 PM, we hadn’t heard anything. After repeatedly calling with no response, at 4 PM I finally heard from a team speaking broken English, which was nearly impossible to understand. They told me "10 minutes"—this was the start of a frustrating and stressful ordeal.
By 4:15 PM, I called again, only to hear "10 minutes" once more. This continued until 5:00 PM when they showed up, not only late, but also angry and rude, claiming they had "a lot of deliveries." They then proceeded to take their sweet time, slowly unloading boxes from the truck while taking at least 20 pictures of them. Once inside, they tried to rush off without letting us inspect the appliances. We had to stop them and insist they open the boxes.
When they finally did, the dishwasher was inspected, and we found the seals were not secure. We immediately rejected the appliance, but the team tried to leave without taking it back. After more shouting, taking another 20 pictures, and refusing to take the microwave out of the box for inspection, we had no choice but to insist they do so. The team then proceeded to treat us abusively—smacking my wife’s hands away from the appliances as she tried to inspect them. This was not only unprofessional but downright disrespectful.
Eventually, after further arguing and calling their team for approval, they finally took the dishwasher back at 5:30 PM. This entire experience was incredibly inconvenient, rude, and completely unacceptable. The team claimed not to speak English, but when they arrived, it was clear they understood perfectly well.
We are now questioning whether we want to replace the dishwasher through Lowe's given how terrible this entire process was. I would absolutely advise anyone to avoid Lowe's delivery team—especially these individuals—at all costs. We anticipate a refund for this delivery and as Pro customers expect compensation.

I say it's a tit-for-tat. Home Depot and Lowe's 50/50. They make it so that it's either one or the other that carries the product you want, so you have to shop for both. I do have to say that I tend to find Lowes has more associates available to help find what you're looking for, not necessarily knowledgeable, but helpful. I don't consider either store to have knowledgeable associates. My brother says Lowe's has better lumber.

This is the worse store ever if I didn’t have to come to this store I wouldn’t you can ask them to call somebody to come help you find nobody every comes but today topped the cake for me I asked Dennis to help me find something he looked me dead in the face and kept walking I was in disbelief so I went up front asked to speak to a manager and manager jay come he was absolutely no help at all. Honestly, he was OK with his worker behavior. He shouldn’t be a manager! Today January 18 2025. I have a different complaint. They said that they’re trying to get better. There is nothing about Lowe’s trying to get better today. I’m actually working Had to come to Lowe’s to get some supplies to get a drill set for the first Employee I saw was named Robert. I asked Robert can he please open the cage where they keep all the stuff locked up at he looking around he trying to find someone oh I can’t open it. I’m actually helping someone he then told me to go find one of the cashiers they will have the key to open it so I go up to customer service they call a man named David. He would not come for nothing to open the cage at all. They called him three times he wouldn’t come then a young lady went to the back to find him. He still wouldn’t come. He told her he was busy. Thank God for SHILAH She went out her way to help me. She tried and tried and tried until she figured out how to unlock the cage. I just want to personally think that young lady because she didn’t have to do that.!!!
