I love to donate items to the Salvation Army and love everything they stand for and help with. I decided to stop in as a shopper today and was surprised by what I saw. First if you are looking for furniture or clothes this may be your place. The furniture looked to be great quality. The clothes were hit and miss when I glanced as far as quality but fair prices. The most disappointing thing for me in the store was the lack of housewares. Maybe they give away a lot of those items but they definitely did not have the setup for selling many of them. Most prices were good. There were a few kinds of items that were higher priced than other thrift stores (fabric boxes for instance). There were a few wall pictures but I guess I expected much more selection than they had. I will continue to donate here and maybe if I stop in again they will have more variety than today. Store was clean and staff seemed friendly.

It’s been two years since I been here and I’m shocked at condition of store - messy and no inventory - we are saddened at the state

I paid for a beautiful coffee table yesterday. They charged me for it and put a sold sign on the table with my receipt. I paid $100 for a truck rental today to pick it up. They said I had 3 days to pick it up. One day later, when I arrived with the moving truck, my table was gone. The manager said they sold it to someone else. They reimbursed me for the table, but not for the more expensive moving truck. I spent a lot of time and money today for a moving truck and it was all for nothing. Do not believe the salvation army when they say you can pay for furniture now and pick it up later. At the exact same time as I was frustrated about the furniture I paid for disappearing, an older Asian couple was having the same frustration with another piece of furniture they had paid for disappearing. How often does this happen, because when I was there, it happened to multiple people in less than 10 minutes.

Salvation Army is packed on Mondays and I understand that; however, 50% of the registers are closed. Out of four registers only two are open. Each photo shows lines to each end of the building simultaneously. I do enjoy the browsing and trying to not sound like an entitled person but this is the second week in a row my husband and I put up a cart of items because we waited in line longer than we did browsing-with hardly any movement. It’s so bad now, after a few of weeks of observation, we just don’t want to come here. There are employees that will constantly bring stock out and cleaning the aisles but it would be a massive improvement if more registers were manned. At least to help how congested it is when there’s a sea of shoppers in line to check out. There has to be at least another employee that can man another register…

I was completely disgusted first by the smell of this place but searching for simple jeans I saw pair after pair of the DIRTIEST, STAINED, TOTALLY DISGUSTING jeans I have ever saw they expected to sell them for $12.00 a pair when they weren't even fit for my trash can.

I had a pick up scheduled for a pretty nice piano and when the guys got here they started with every reason in the world to not pick up. Something about just being at a meeting and they were told pianos don't sell. Are you kidding me? This is a donation for pete's sake. Then he looked at my pavers and said no this cannot be done because of your pavers. They did not want to be reponsible for cracking them or hitting my door frame. Last year I had a brown leather couch to donate and they would not take it. It won't sell. This is not Eldorado you people. They have unprofessional pick up guys that frankly I feel don't want to strain their back. Very rude. 66th Street. Stay clear of donating to The Salvation /army they only want showroom quality.

Staff is extremely rude, signs posted are deceiving and do not reflect actual discounts. Absolute rip off considering They sell donated items. Manage was not present. Pretty terrible experience.

Okay...lets just be real....its a thrift store, not the mall, not a department store, Walmart, or Target so do not roll up into my heaven and expect to be impressed. Now, I lovvvvve thrift stores, the more crowded and chaotic, the more opportunity for treasure! I only go on half odd days so it gets pretty busy and they always runout of carts. There are only 6 dressing rooms so be prepared to wait as ppl fill their baskets beyond capacity to try on. There is a huge selection and quality honestly ranges all over the place but if you are true thifter, you are willing to be patient and look. I find most things to be separted by type of clothing but not size and and some spots look to have a color sequence but its easily mixed up quickly by customers. Its definitely not overly clean and I find it to be quite dark in the store. You will also come across some questionable people but hey, Im not there to make friends, just find some deals. #1 Rule: Definitely wash everything when you get home before wearing again.
