The store is clean but the animal enclosures had a ton of feces. That should be cleaned more regularly. The lady at check out also didn't check my worms to make sure they were alive before I took them home.

Helpful staff with dog reactive shelter rescue. They made my appointment very late for a nail trim. Great!!!

I’ve never left a bad review ever but the line has been crossed. We took my beautiful doggy in to get her hair trimmed who has gotten her hair done at several different hair salons due to me being a traveling nurse and this was going to be her third time here at this PECTO and although she never has accidents in ANY other hair salons we bring her too for some reason everytime we have brought her to this one she gets SO nervous and unfortunately always seems to have accidents ONLY at this hair salon. I should have taken that as my first sign to not bring her here ever again. Than when we went the desk to check her in for her grooming I was inappropriately asked/mimicked by a caucasian women with red hair and freckles, unfortunately did not receive a name, “Tu hablas inglés?” (do you speak english?) simply because I was talking to my lovely mother in spanish. I was absolutely shocked and appalled. After politely explaining that I did the hair dresser then proceeded then proceeded to check my dog for any knots, while doing so I noticed that my dog started shaking so I tried to pet her to calm her down. While doing so the groomer RUDLY yelled at me for trying to calm my dog. That’s when I asked to please have another groomer to do my dogs hair cut because after the attitude and racism I received I was in no way going to pay her my hard earned money. After she went to the back she came out with the other groomer where they than informed me that they will not be able to cut my dogs hair today because they believed that my dog was sick because when she accidentally pooped inside the store due to nerves, the poop was orange. Of course considering they are not Vet Medicine Doctors they made the biggest assumption that my dog was sick without taking into consideration that my dogs daily diet includes sweet potatoes, pumpkin, fresh meats, oils and vitamins that can cause a dogs poop to appear orange. Honestly I think this was Gods sign that it was not a good idea to even bring my lovely doggy anywhere close to a petco ever again. This is a warning to all customers please pay attention to your dogs behavior if they look like they don’t want to be groomed there then they probably mean it. And as far as for the groomers to treated me and my FAMILY this way, very buyer wrong of you and I am disappointed in PETCO for even allowing this behavior. My review isn’t the first i’ve seen regarding poor customer and if PETCO continues as they are I highly doubt I will be the last.

This is not a friendly store. We came in indecisive on two pets which we did our research on BOTH. instead of helping us everybody avoided us and disappeared to the back and then when we made up our mind they said we didn’t know what we wanted, which made them uncomfortable and went on to telling us we don’t know how to care for animals. They were discriminating since we walked in the door. The tall slim lady i believe her name was samatha & the short lady with glasses and a limp.

Dont trust the website telling you something is in stock. Asked 2 people if they had something and both didn't really care that the stock is incorrect

Grooming, just a basic haircut and bath took close to 5 hours even with appointment. Response is poor and no curtesy! Plus the price online and store is higher.

Absolutely horrible how neglected their reptiles and other animals are. Most reptiles have wrong temperatures/humidity, one of their crested gecko was in absolute distress and had stuck shed that had completely twisted its body. Seems that no one checks on them. Without proper temperatures and care these poor animals just suffer and no one in that place cares to check on the animals. I’m not gonna even start with how disgusting and dirty mice tanks are.. instead of employees sitting and doing nothing they should be taking care of animals.
Do better.

I am very disappointed with my grooming experience at Sanford’s PETCO. Normally I take my dog to Orange City’s PETCO and always have a smooth & awesome experience with them. The employees at Orange City are friendly, helpful, and competent. I’ve never had any issues and my dog is always commended for being a good girl. Unfortunately, today they didn’t have an opening we needed so we decided to go with Sanford. Huge mistake. It started with an employee reaching out asking us to come in earlier than what our appointment was set for. When we arrived, we were informed that the grooming process would only take half an hour because the salon was closing at 5; however, the times posted outside said the salon closed at 6. We felt rushed and as if our appointment was an inconvenience. The employee receiving my dog from me didn’t seem competent and was fumbling about taking her from me, which in turn caused my dog to be anxious. I had to hold her and walk her behind the counter myself before the employee took her. This is something I never have to do at Orange City. When we picked her up a half hour later, her fur was still wet and she didn’t feel as clean as she normally does after grooming. We paid $75 for this service, tip included. This was our first and last time using this location. I’m not sure if this is an every day occurrence or if the staff just wasn’t feeling it today but I wouldn’t recommend them at all. The groomer’s name was Jiselle. Hopefully if you do take your pet here, you receive a better treatment than my family did.

I'm so big on customer service. And without great customer service it just ruins the whole business and or eggcperience. This Petco needs some help. Particularly with grooming. They don't return calls and sometimes their so busy, they can attend to you. They leave before their scheduled. I can tell you how many times I've called this department and or left a message never have I ever received a call back. One time mybdog was in grooming for 5 hours. If you're so busy, hire a receptionist!
The vet care, awesome. The rest of the stor, idk...

I’ve been taking my 2 1/2 year old golden retriever to Petco since he was a puppy. I never had any issues at the PA location. I get everything through Petco - I use their vetco clinic service, dog supplies, food, grooming services, etc. I’m enrolled in their vital care premier plan. Rates have gone up .. but so has everything else. However today’s visit was a little different. The dog groomer stylist (Harmony and Bonnie) decided it was time to increase my dog’s rate from large to x-large. Despite my dog being the same size for the past year. Just an FYI this location will up charge you for services so beware. I’m waiting to hear back from the corporate team. If we can’t find a solutions to this, I’m going to cancel all services and they are going to lose a customer for life. For attempting to squeeze my pockets, I will take my business elsewhere. If you continue to treat customers like this, your sales will continue to plummet.

Is there no sell policy to fish 30 minutes before closing? My son has a salt water tank and we came in the store almost an hour before closing. My son finally found a star fish that was hiding as no one was around. It was announced over the intercom, there will be no selling fish 30 minutes prior to closing. My Husband said hello to a worker as they announced that, and she stated there is a no sell policy prior to 30 minutes of closing and I am helping someone 20 minutes prior as she will be the last person I am helping. Thank you!
We said ok, thank you! I found this a little abrasive as no one asked if we needed help when we were looking and we have been in there for almost an hour shopping.
