My wife and I travel from Kansas City every few years to the 30A area. This is a must stop for us! The food is incredible! The service is outstanding! The atmosphere is perfection! Special shoutout to the hostess Kinley who made it extra special for us! Really appreciate how professional the staff is. Who will go out of their way to make it a special experience for you. One of my all-time favorite restaurants. Thank you as always!

The main menu looked great, but the thing that really sold us on trying this place was they had a legit kids menu with quality items - filet, grilled shrimp, chicken, and fish. I’m grateful for restaurants that offer not only nutritious food options for kids but also gluten free options. This place is super conscientious about offering gluten free options and does have a dedicated fryer for GF. My daughter had the filet and it was delicious. It wasn’t the cheapest kids meal, but I have definitely paid more for less quality food trying to piece her something together GF and nutritious from the main menu of other places. Cocktails were good and the real show stopper was the seafood acadiana - best creole food my husband and I have ever had. My scallops were also delicious as were the hush puppies. Service was friendly and prompt - this was a true dining experience and Mom and Dad felt like they were getting a date night from a place that is also kid friendly! What a win - might be our new favorite place on 30A - we will be back next time we are in town! My only thing I would say could have been improved is that we arrived on a day of a new menu rollout so our server couldn’t really give us guidance on our food options - I think servers should always be well versed in the food they are serving and should have been allowed to try the new items before the menu was offered to customers.Dietary restrictions: Dedicated GF fryer, many GF items clearly markedParking: Free valet parkingKid-friendliness: Great kids menu and fun drink options

First off, service was great and valet parked our cars for us. We had a reservation on the patio, it was a cold night and they surrounded our tables with heaters and brought 6 blankets to help keep us warm. We were never without a drink/refill and had every other requested filled.Food wise, I had very high expectations for a great meal here. Looking at the prices, you would expect the same thing.1. “Truffle” fries were an $8 side, looked exactly like McDonalds fries but with no salt or seasoning at all2. Side of “Roasted Garlic” mashed potato’s, another $8 side, were flavorless and tasted like powder potatoes you can make at home, with no salt or seasoning added.3. The beef short ribs are a popular item for the restaurant and multiple people in my group ordered them. The meat was cooked beautifully and fell apart due to tenderness, but both the meat and risotto had no flavor at all.The restaurant has great potential and I don’t doubt that other entrees on the menu are better than what I tried, but overall most food served lacked a lot of flavor that could have made it an overall 5 star experience.

Ordered the fillet with a side of two scallops. Ordered the Aji tuna appetizer. All was fantastic! Other items in pics collard greens and truffle fries. Delicious! Ordered the salted caramel brownie. Way to chocolate-y for me. Thought there would be more caramel. Would not get this again. Each table has a light and I LOVE that.

A delightful evening tarnished: Hidden charges spoil the experience at Surfing DeerThe service by Kevin was exemplary and the food outstanding. Appetizer, salad, main and dessert courses were all a delight. The I received the bill and tucked amidst the menu items was an NCA (non cash adjustment) charge. While restaurants incur various costs, including credit card processing fees, I believe such charges should be incorporated into the menu pricing. Sneaking them in at the end creates a feeling of dishonesty and undermines the otherwise positive dining experience. To ensure a truly delightful dining experience, you might consider incorporating necessary costs adjustments into your menu prices and removing from the bill any hidden charges and unexpected fees.

I can't remember the last time I had a better meal than I had here. Not cheap, but reasonable, especially for the quality of the food. The service was quick, our server was knowledgeable and charismatic, and the atmosphere was such that (even with a potty training two year old and frequent trips to the bathroom) we were able to hear each other without interfering with the tables around us. Nothing about this meal could have been better. My filet was a juicy and tender medium with a slight, perfect char to the outside; the sides were superb, and everyone at my table shared a bit with each other so we could sample a variety, so I know it wasn't just mine that was excellent. The venue is a beautiful corner spot right on the strip, thoughtfully decorated and lit, and I loved the water feature. Can't wait to go back: enthusiastically recommend, well worth going out of your way for.
