Nancy at the reception desk told me it was not her problem today. Until that moment I have been extremely impressed with the quality of care being provided to my sister and would definitely given a 5 star rating.

New to the area, I had to find a Primary doctor. After a long search, I decided to go to WellMed.,, on the recommendation of a person I met during cancer treatment. My first appt. was last friday with Dr. Mamone, he spent a very long time with me, he was prepared having read over my initial new patient forms. I absolutely would recommend him. Also the staff very friendly and helpful. I hated leaving my previous primary I had for 10 years and doubted I would ever find someone like him here on the East coast, but I did and couldn't be more pleased.

I have actually had a good experience with the office and love Dr. Prinsen. I do think the paperwork process could be improved and billing procedures. I was told by the billing office that I could pay my bill on the portal but have never been told about the portal even after I called the office about a billing issue.

I have nothing but good to say about Dr. Prinsen. All the rest was a horror show. From getting appointments, to referrals, follow up care, just a mess. I saw the nurse practitioner on March 9, she seemed confused by the issues I wanted to address and not really interested in helping me. These were issues that should have been addressed by my primary doctor, but scheduling staff would not give me an appointment with Dr. Prinsen. Never an explanation as to why not. As of March 26, I still had not received any of the 3 referrals I requested. On March 29, I was told, finally, that I did not need a referral for one doctor, because I still had an active one. When I asked why I had not been informed of this, he told me "I can't say, I'm telling you now."I requested another referral for a spine specialist to address issues related to congenital problems, previous surgery, and an accident several years ago. After 21 years of not doing anything about it, I decided to address it. I was given a referral to the B.A.C.K. Center, in MELBOURNE. I don't have reliable transportation to get me there. When I asked if there wasn't a spine specialist closer, he told me "No, there's not. You should call your insurance company. There are no back doctors in Sebastian or Vero Beach." I have since found this claim to be false.I first went to this office a year ago, with similar results. I don't like going to the doctor, and I dropped the ball on my own health maintenance due to lax attention to follow ups and appointment scheduling and just bad attitude. I attempted this month to make an effort at getting my health care on track with the same results. As of yesterday, I have switched to a new PCP and medical practice.

Just had the most awful experience with the prior authorization person at this Dr's office, that I have ever had in my life, and I've been in the medical field for 30+ years! She was rude and disrespectful and completely unwilling to help me resolve an emergent situation. I'm sure the doctors and nurse practitioners are fine providers, but the office staff leaves a lot to be desired at this location! It is a SHAME that my 83 year old mother has to sit in extreme pain because this person (her name starts with a V but I won't disclose it) is too lazy to, at the very least, TRY and expedite a simple prior authorization! God forbid anyone who is a patient there have an emergency that needs authorization! This office seems to not give a crap about their patients! They tried to blame it on the insurance. However, having been in the business for decades, I personally know better. Shame shame shame Miss V, shame shame shame. I'll bet if your loved one needed a service and was being disregarded, you'd have a lot to say about it! Beware if you choose this office as your primary care! Anything more than a simple cold and you could find yourself in a lose-lose experience!

This DR discussed personal medical information about her patient “my husband,” to a mutual friend. Isn’t this an HIPPA ACT—seems to me she violated the law. Not to mention their staff was very unprofessional when a hospital visit was needed for an EEG-strangely there was no order for it! Their (DR’s excuse was...Oh... we’re in the process of changing our computer systems. What a waste of time for him to go! As well a waste of time to go see Winchell!

You probably thought you signed up for a Medicare Advantage Plan with United HealthCare nad now you have nothing but trouble trying to see a specialist is near impossible, having lab work done can take an entire day with many test ordered by your physician not done! You say "Why"?
The truth is you are in "WellMed Medical Management, Inc." the sole purpose of "WellMed" is to keep you from obtaining services! Whether it be seeing a Specialist Physician, having blood work done, MRIs, surgeries etc area always a problem and you end up with that "Notice of Denial of Payment" ... you are stuck with the bill!
My Primary care physician has referred me to a Pain Management specialist, a Rheumatologist, a Colonoscopy in the last 2 years, I have not been able to see anyone of these providers because "WellMed Medical Management" does not have an approved provider! Yes they are on the "Provider List" and when you try to get an appointment you are told "We do not accept anything "WellMed"! (an answer like that means they either don't allow the doctor to practice medicine, they probably make it very difficult for a provider to get paid and the payments if you are lucky enough to get them are below prevailing reimbursements).
I have called UHC and they assure me I am NOT "WellMed", they don't know what "WellMed is", and November 2017 I spent 2 days on the phone with UHC to be certain I was not "WellMed" made it very clear I wanted nothing that had anything to do with "WellMed" of course I was assured I could change to this plan and it had higher deductibles and higher Copays but was not "WellMed", Great I have it taken care of. Four weeks later and after "open enrollment" has closed and I am screwed another year I get my new cards and right there on the front is "WellMed" under Payer ID! More than 9 hours on the phone and I am assure I am NOT "WELLMED" , If I removed my Primary Care Physician from being listed on my card that would take care of it. Good remove her, I don't care if I have to go to another physician I will do that anything to get out of "WellMed". Two weeks later new card arrives and YES, IT SAYS WELLMED! Another day on the phone, another card is sent, another WellMed. Again another card with WellMed. Finally another card and no WellMed... GREAT FINALLY my nightmare is over! NOT!!! Two months later I get a Notice of Denial of Payment for the same physician I have been seeing with UHC for 9 years without a problem, being told when I was there waiting to be seen no not a problem, I am on Passport and can see this doctor without a problem! Now I must pay$340 in office visits because my doctor is "not enrolled in WellMed Medical Management, Inc.!!
UHC is committing FRAUD as far as I am concerned, no place is "WellMed" mentioned, listed or stated until you get your card and it is too late to get out of UHC! So in an effort to be able to see the Specialist my Primary (WellMed approved) states I need to follow up with, I can't ! I have taken on higher deductibles, higher co pays, higher prescription cost and still have to pay entirely out of pocket to see the necessary physicians! Even when my card and my contract says I can see any provider in the UHC network and pay my usual co pays, NO I CAN"T!
Stay away from United Healthcare, they keep their ratings high because you can't find the link to review them (even when you ask where and how). Can't believe Medicare allows these abuses to go on! Typical of government employees they simply don't care, big salaries, great benefits, great retirement after 20 years but don't do their jobs too often!
