Your times need to be changed on the site and on board outside facility for clinic hours. I walked in and got ignored. Asked about and was pointed to next door and as I went over it was closed, she couldn't even tell me it was closed.

I’ve had a few encounters at The Humane Society for different reasons. I found everyone there to be helpful. The place was clean. I went into the cat room and would have never guessed there were 20+ cats because there was no odor. :)
Judi was most helpful and accommodating to answer all my questions thoroughly, and I appreciate that. Especially after seeing how quickly that office fills with people needing help.
I’m mostly happy about the feral cat colony taken care of by them. This facility seems to genuinely care about the animals in this county.

They have a Vet that works thru the week now! Thank heavens for them, cause when I called the Animal Hospital with an emergency they said call wherever you've been taking him for the past 6 years! So I said fine I'll call them then, I thought you were a HOSPITAL tho! So I called the Humane society and was so happy to find out they have a vet now! They got my grams cat right in to be seen! A++

This is a Very Good Place to take your Four Leg Loved Ones! They give Good treatment to Your Puppies and All the Dogs that You have! Great Vets Too and doctors! They give All the Shots that Your Puppies and Doggies requires! Very Highly Recommended

Great place to rescue your forever friend! My forever friend, Roxy, picked me while I was searching here over a year ago. Now Roxy is my Service Dog and training as a Diabetic Alert Dog. We now also use the vet services offered at this facility as well.

Had a great experience at the low cost vet clinic at the Highlands County Humane Society. Prompt, professional, and caring. Everyone from the wonderful receptionist to the assistants and the Vet herself!

Not sure why they have one person who does the adoption for all the dogs , she is apparently overwhelmed or just choosing who to answer the phone for . We applied, our family was approved to pick up a dog that was available. Next day we go to get the dog Alex says the dog is adopted . From august 18th to today I have reached out to Alexandra and she has stated that the dog is adopted . I have wrote her several times asking why the dog is still up on the website and she won’t even respond anymore . When I call The shelter says the dog is still available but Alexandra says something different as if she doesn’t want the dog adopted . We have a great home own our house fences in yard and we’re already approved by Alexandra . Not sure where the mix up comes in but definitely disappointing when the dogs can go to a good home but they just harbor them instead so they suffer in a shelter . such a shame .
**update ** Alexandra has texted back and she has not only admitted to lying to me but is texting me to let me know I didn’t put the correct time on how long I was contacting her about the dog. . Not only is this unprofessional but it is mortifying that people like this work in an animal shelter . God bless all those animals . Pics of my family and our animals and my kids that she also said weren’t a good environment for the puppy because they were “crying in the background “ .

Wonderful experience with Alexandrea and Cindy.
We found our forever pup and are so happy to welcome Jaxson to our family! They were kind, patient, and very pleasant. 10 out of 10, Would recommend! The process was quick and seamless.

The staff here is super friendly and let us interact with the kittens/cats while we were waiting. I would have lived to interact with the dogs too but allergic so had to pass

We adopted our fur baby (Mal) now Pumpkin from Alexandra and the staff couldn't be more welcoming with adopters. They are so loving to the animals. Nice and clean facility. Humanes Society of Highlands County works hard and tries to help every animal in need. I witnessed their compassion when I was adopting my baby. I will always adopt from here. Thank you for all the hard work you do for these sweet animals.

I adopted my best friend from this wonderful shelter. I know that my pup Valentine is grateful for our wonderful experience! Also, my precious granddog Magoo and his parents are equally as thankful to have such caring people making sure that he also found a great home too. Thanks Alex and Judy and the rest of the team.
