Every month I have to go to this stupid bank to fix some screw up they're responsible for. Every month it takes a special trip to see a teller in person so I can explain the mistake they've made and dumb it down until they admit fault.They can never explain what happened, they just eventually realize that they screwed up and reimburse me for the funds. Like clockwork. Every month.Today was the last straw and it was all I needed to close my account here. I'll give you the exact particulars. My auto loan is due on the 5th of each month. I submitted a transfer from an external account to GTE to cover the payment and I received an email confirming it was scheduled. Two weeks later, I go to withdraw some cash and I find that my account has been cleaned out because the payment never went through. Please make note that GTE sends multiple emails a day about promotional offers, and remember that I had received an email confirming my payment was scheduled. But for some reason, GTE failed to send a notification via email that the payment had not gone through. So 9 days go by, and instead of letting me know the payment didn't go through (one teller said the account number was wrong, another person told me something else) they waited until the late payment date and charged me a late fee. Then two days later, they claim they sent a letter in the mail.So a bank employee took me into her office and explained that there was a problem with the bank transfer. Surprise! Nobody listening apparently. I explained again that the problem isn't that the payment failed, it was that GTE confirmed the payment was scheduled, and then did nothing to notify me when the payment failed. I could have easily rectified any typos or problems if they had sent a notification which they immediately send for every other purpose. But when it comes to something that will lead to a late fee, they'll let it slide without saying a word. A teller suggested I login to check whether the payment went through. So I asked "Are you suggesting I login to check every transaction? Is that what you do when you pay your bills?" Of course not. Nobody does that. You get a confirmation (like I did), then you don't waste any more time on it. This happens every. single. month.In a previous month, I had made two payments (for the current month and the next month), and when the second month came, it failed to recognize the second payment and charged me another late fee. So I got to waste another lunch hour by marching in to the branch, explaining their screw up and eventually they fixed it.My wife has similar gripes. She's enrolled in automatic payments on her auto loan and every month for five months straight, they sent a letter saying her payment is past due and they suggest enrolling in automatic payments and every month we tell them we've already enrolled in auto payments. So every month they reverse the late fee and assure us that we are NOW enrolled in automatic payments until it happens again and they explain they don't know why their system did this.Their banking software is apparently full of bugs so they need to invest more into software development. I've never been so inconvenienced on a consistent and regular basis. Having to correct their software problems has been completely exhausting and today I finally decided to close my checking account there. My time is too finite and valuable to spend it arguing with the bank all the freaking time.I still have an auto loan which I'll make in cash from now on, since their system can't handle online payments. And you can bet every time I show my face at the branch, I'll be voicing my experience to every customer in the lobby.

The Bank itself is a really good bank. Granted there are some issues that I wish could be different but all in all as far as banks go they get a 5 star from me. As for the bank employees, they are a 5 star all the way across the board. They really do try to work with you on all that you have to get done with in reason of course.The fraud department is phenomenal they have saved me a couple times already. So yes in my opinion GTE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION is a 5 star rated Bank

I give the lady that waiting on me today ,at the GTE Federal credit Union triple A's for her customer service she was very polite very nice. And done everything within her power to help me. and I appreciated it so much .so I give her AAA for her customer service. She is outstanding with her customer service person just wonderful .Elice Acosta thank you so much.

Nikki Wills at the seffner branch was amazing. I came in very upset and confused about some transactions on my account and she was patient and persistent to the end to ensure I understood each transaction and was very professional and knowledgeable. She showed empathy and such care about my needs and turned my very bad day to a better one and further secured my decision for banking with GTE for over 20 years. From the minute I walked in. Staff was amazing. What customer service and Gylla Camps-Campins if I could give her a raise I would. She was awesome. So so so helpful an patient, giving her a ten star.
