Love the Shalimar Post office! Staff is always so helpful! There are 2 other post offices in Fort Walton Beach, but I will drive out of my way to come here. Casey was so sweet & knowledgeable on the best way to prepare & mail my package! They always have packing supplies & the newest selection of stamps. There is ample parking, inside tables available for writing/packing, & it is clean! Also, there is a convenient drive through for Mail Drop!

I’ve lived in the area for 9 years and this is the closest post office to me, so I’ve been using this location since. Staff is always friendly, quick, and efficient. I’ve never had an issue or had to wait in line for very long. I have used the post office in fort Walton once or twice and each time regretted not going to this one. Highly recommend!

Claimed my address for a package wasn't real. Sent my package back to sender right away. Did not even give me an option to pick up. Unreal experience.

This is the second time I dreaded going to this post office after being a customer for over 15yrs. Andrea made me open the box I was sending to an APO box and lectures me on how to fill the form as if this was the first time I send something to an APO box and asking the gender of the items and what they are made of!Second time around I go prepared and do not close the box and then tells me I have to have everything sealed and I explained to her how the last time she made me open the box and has the nerve to say she would never do that, that maybe it was situational and perhaps I was sending something liquid etc ( I was mailing t-shirts! That she insisted to inspect). After she made it redo the form then tells me if I’m not done then I can go to another post office that closes later, after I was already there for one hour and half!Never returning to this post office. I miss Walt!

The people are always great here, but I wanted to give a special shout out to Andrea for her awesome service! She was an absolute pleasure, we had a great conversation while she was taking care of me and despite it being very close to close she was so kind and didn't rush me at all. Thanks Andrea, for putting a smile on my face today!

I had the most horrible experience at the Shalimar USPS office. I’ve used this office for over 20 years and never had any issues until today. I had several boxes to mail and perhaps that is why the clerk, whose name is Andrea, had an attitude. Was it because I didn’t use click n ship to prepay for my boxes to drop off causing her to have a line? I do not know. What I can tell you is USPS has lost me as a customer. When mailing boxes to APO addresses as I do regularly, I fill out the customs form but I’ve never had to mark the exact type of clothes and whether they’re female or male items or be super detailed info. It felt like I was being interrogated. For example, i do not understand why the clerk had to know exactly my items down to the gender of said items. She insisted I mark female or male for the soap I was mailing. I never thought soap could be gendered. She gave me attitude when I responded with unisex and demanded I give her a female or male response and rudely turned her computer to show me she did not have the option for unisex. I responded that this is ridiculous and then she asked if I wanted her to continue helping me. What is that supposed to mean? Was she going to deny me completing my transaction because I said it’s ridiculous that i’m being asked if soap is female or male soap. Also, I listed covid tests on the customs form. She then asked me what kind of tests. I replied Covid tests like the ones you get at the pharmacy or CVS. How else do you want me to list an item as a covid test? If this is how the USPS runs its business I am done. Later I went to the UPS store to finish mailing some other boxes and did not have the brutal 50 questions regarding the items I was mailing or if they were male or female items. I will use UPS from now on.

I really don't appreciate having my child's birthday cards opened. Seriously, what kind of person would open someone else's stuff? Were they looking for money?

Many missed deliveries, mail not received, mail delivered at another address other the address provided.. poor followup in timely manner.

This post office is horrible. I don't know what their issue is, I've had this mailbox for a month. Sounds like they have some theft issues according to some other reviews. Got a dog chain ordered and mailed, it was dropped off, when I arrived to pick it up they said "oh we must have lost it you're going to have to contact the company"....a few weeks later I had to get a new debit card sent in the mail, according to Wells Fargo it was delivered, it's been 2 weeks and still no debit card in my mail box, let alone haven't got ONE piece of mail the ENTIRE month, and lost 2 pieces of mail that I knew forsure were suppose to be in there.... someone needs to investigate this because doesn't sound like I'm the first!GO TO A DIFFERENT POST OFFICE!!!!

Clown show. Had to mail a money order to my sister in Utah to get $800 cash into my bank account (no Chase in FWB). Not only have they lost the mailed money order but now they tell me I have to pay another $6 to have them do an "inquiry". And no voiding the original money order until after 60 days. Government at its finest.
