It took me a while to leave a review here as I've been really busy once I got my car back from Hometown Auto Service.I have to say, wow, excellent job! I carefully read reviews of different places before deciding where to take my car. The only bad review I found here at Hometown was something like they took a week to get a car fix or that they were too full. That's not a performance failure for me. Good businesses today are extremely full and busy. I took the advice from someone who convinced me that if I could wait, I should bring it later to this place. So, I made an appointment right away for weeks later. I explained how my car was not shifting after replacing the two transmission shift solenoids. We service our own vehicles at home. A diesel duramax, a car, and three motorcycles. We like to buy either oem or good quality parts and to fix whatever is needed to extend the life of our machines, but this time, we didn't know exactly what was going on. We even found/read on the internet of someone who had the exact same problem after changing the shift solenoids but never mentioned a solution to the problem. So this time, we needed help from a transmission professional. I contacted a couple of other places where I could have left my car even sooner, but they sounded like a rip off about to happen. I decided to wait for Hometown Auto Service instead. I waited three weeks before towing my car close to my appointment date and then waited one more week to get my car back. I honestly don't regret it at all. I believe it was all worth it. The owner was honest and took the time to explain what he finally found the problem to be. The car is now running great. I'm very satisfied. There is no nonsense at this place and very reasonable repair cost too. I recommend this place, and I have them in mind for any other automotive problem in the future.

Don't waste your time calling. You'll never get a callback for an appointment. Very poor customer service. Will tell everyone I know not to waste their time....

2 years ago I applied for this job, he was nice for the interview and over the phone. When I applied I mentioned to him that I did not have a huge toolbox due to just relocating to a place that could not fit my huge box at the time, but I had all my tools but just needed time to get another toolbox. I told him I can bring all my tools in my truck either way and He said ok and hired me. The day I arrived for my first day, he saw my truck and said "let me see your tools". I opened my truck and only got to show him a 3tier wrench case that weights about 300lbs and is about 3 1/2ft high due to it being wrenches alone. He didn't even let me show him the rest when he said "it's not gonna work out" Mind you, I've been a mechanic for years and have all tools for the trade I was shocked and pissed that this bad person would judge me this way after I had already spoken to him about this. Over a toolbox at that! I realized that this was when the government was giving incentives to small businesses that at least interviewed individuals for employment because of Covid. It's sad people like him waste others valuable time and resources. If he is like this with people imagine his customers. So I just hope people read this and realize that he is dishonest

Joe is the best transmission mechanic in Volusia County! Go there with confidence and be assured you're in good hands and don't have to worry about someone telling you need work done that's unnecessary like some other places.I highly recommend!
