Great stay! House was as advertised. Great location. Recently renovated decks and walk ways were nice. Non sand parking area was a plus. Friendly lizards were fun!

We loved our stay at Sunshine and Whiskey ! What a lovely, well appointed house with everything we needed. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and the stroll to the pristine beach was shady and a 2 minute wagon pull . Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay at Reel Close. The location to the beach access was perfect! We had to contact Collins Vacation Rental once during our stay for the WiFi password. The person I spoke with was very helpful and friendly. The house was very comfortable and had enough space for everyone. There were a few cosmetic things in the house that could be improved, but nothing that hindered our stay. The coffee makers are very slow and we ended up having a Keurig shipped to us. The oven was also very slow. I would recommend bringing dish cloths, dish towels, and rinse aid for the dishwasher. The dishwasher left the dishes very hazy and make them look dirty. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and plan to return to St. George Island!

The Heron’s Nest is private, peaceful and only a 2 minute walk to the beach. We had a wonderful stay in this very unique home.

I KNOW where to begin, however I don't know where to end!
Over many years my family would travel from Minnesota after the holidays to come warm up a bit while enjoying St. George Island.
It became so frequent that we'd no longer ask IF, but "what house are we getting?"
As years go by, and time does too, life cycles begin and end, changing the numbers of guests while maintaining beautiful memories. Sadly, we've not come annually like once before, but THIS year my parents will celebrate 50 years married. We were DETERMINED to be there. Although we'd get an elevator this time!! Thr rental processing was pleasant as always.
Until ONE day last week.
In a Minnesota blizzard our fearless Mail lady Emily brought us the mail and inside was our Collins agreement, AKA Gold in our home.
BUT WAIT, my father ( probably top 2 in excited to come) notices our arrival date is OFF an entire YEAR.
IMPOSSIBLE. I call Collins and leave a message, they returned my call AFTER business hours, LISTENED to my concern and went back to work you guys and found us a house. 😭❤️😭❤️😭 that's better than any customer service I've EVER had

Pot of Gold was clean and in a great location. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for cooking. Loved that there was an XL crate and fenced yard for our dog. We had a great time and would absolutely stay here in the future.

Collins is great to work with. This is our 3rd stay with them. We had a great vacation on the beach, island and local towns as usual. We switched to Shangrila (ranch) last minute as our dog had a recent knee surgery. The house needs a good deep cleaning, major repairs and some updating. The bedrooms have been updated and beds are very comfortable. We’ve already booked a different beachfront ranch for next year. Thanks!

On first arriving at the property I was pleased at what I saw. The rooms were freshly painted, the decor was cute and updated. Upon further investigation I was a bit aghast at the conditions of the place. Every time we opened the screen doors, on either floor, they fell off. The sliding doors would not lock and the only protection was a wooden stick to prevent access from outside. Furthermore, the inside of the doors were wet as were the "security sticks" and mold was rampant in the tracks. The recent storm should not have left so much moisture inside. Frankly, the doors just need to be replaced, they are so difficult to open or close.
Once I headed to the bathroom and saw all of the mold on the shower doors, I was hesitant to get in the bath tub. I checked out both of the other showers and they were equally, if not more moldy. I cringed upon entering the shower but what else could I do for the next week??
The dishwasher was dated and did not do an adequate job cleaning the dirty dishes. Further, just looking inside at all of the "gunk" made me uneasy. Although the refrigerator looked virtually new and was very clean, both the ice maker filter and air filters warning signals indicated they needed to be replaced. So much for having clean water to drink.
My husband did talk to management about the sliding doors and screens. They sent someone over to replace burned out lightbulbs and the workman took the screens explaining he would return them after they were cleaned and repaired. We never heard back from anyone in that regard.
Recent painting did make the place more pleasing and it was decorated in a cute, inviting way. Its proximity to the center of the town and its beach front location are hard to beat. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishes and utensils. We cooked most of our meals there. The fresh fish is just amazing.
We had a nice week running, biking, laying on the beach and just relaxing. Everyone was very pleasant. In the end we focused on the positives at St. George but recognize the Sandbox needs further updating and cleaning.
