You do not know me but I am a Budget rental customer who had the good fortune to meet your son Jimmy this morning
My rental vehicle failed me when it suddenly disconnected from car play and refused to recognise my iPhone. This left me without gps. Jimmy attempted to reset it but when he was unable to do so, he proposed a vehicle exchange.
This is the SIXTH vehicle I have had since taking the rental at Nashville Airport and I have been dogged with problems that I am trying to address with Customer Service. So far they have been a great disappointment to me.
But I am writing to you to congratulate you on raising a fine son in Jimmy who was respectful, helpful and polite with me from the start. He did everything he could to help me and understand my problem and disappointment without any drama.
He is a great credit to you sir and you should be very proud of him. He has helped restore my faith in human nature. I'm sure it was not an act on his part: Jimmy cane across a fine, balanced, mature person who is good at his job and respectful of others. These are rare qualities today.
Good luck with your business sir and please thank Jimmy again from me when he comes home tonight

Very unprofessional experience. The staff mumbled everything and had a condescending attitude throughout the process. They were dressed in dirty t-shirts and sweatpants, looking like they had just rolled out of bed. The car itself was not clean and was handed over without a full tank of gas. I would not recommend this location to anyone. Avoid at all costs.

I had a very good experience renting a car from Alamo/Budget on SR 16 in St. Augustine, FL. When I first arrived, the staff didn’t seem especially friendly — but hey, it was early on a Saturday morning and we’re human. Once the process got going, everything moved smoothly. It had been years since I rented a car so initially I didn’t understand the $200 hold they were placing on my card; it didn't matter if I was using debit or credit (I rented through Hotwire and I guess I didn't read the fine print). I can see how this could potentially cause frustration for both sides of the counter.
At any rate, the car I rented (2024 Buick Encore) was clean, in great condition, and ready to go. When I returned it, I had a chance to speak with the manager, Rami. I expressed to him that I almost didn't rent from there due to the negative reviews. He was very professional and took the time to explain some of the challenges they face. He mentioned that often people leave poor reviews when their payment method doesn’t clear, mainly due to the $200 hold. He also shared that the vehicles are sometimes returned to a different location, requiring his staff to retrieve and clean them under tight time constraints.
All things considered, I would rent from this location again. My experience was positive, and I appreciated the respectful conversation with the manager.

ADDITIONAL EDIT: So on top of all this crap, now Avis sent me a letter claiming we caused damage to their tire and is charging me an additional $76.01. Time to get my attorney involved!
EDIT TO ADD: Customer service requested I email them with more details and after I did this they ghosted me. Another reason to NOT rent from AVIS!!!
This place is awful! First car was filthy so my husband cleaned it only to find the oil light came on after we drove it home so we returned it for another car, which was also filthy and had to be cleaned and then returned due to a nail in one of the tires. Third car we had to drive up to Jacksonville Airport to pick up because the Avis was closed and the 24/7 Emergency Line said they couldn't do anything because there was no spare in the vehicle. All this on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. The third vehicle was also filthy but that is on JAX Avis. The manager's response when we returned the vehicle to Avis St Augustine? My cars are always clean. Trust me, they DO NOT clean their cars!

I won't go back! The driver's seat was stained, and they are terrible at human relations and communication. If you plan to visit a place frequently, investing in a simple used car and paying for storage is better. Car rental companies are a joke!

AWFUL vehicles. Loose garbage left behind and smells of marijuana. The first vehicle we returned because the marijuana odor was so strong and there was spilled drink, someone’s left behind chapstick and an empty water bottle. Requested a second vehicle, which had a grocery bag stuffed between the passenger seat and center console and there were loose wrappers on the floor!!! Addressed my concerns with employees and the gentlemen just stared at me and said nothing. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION!!!!!!

Dropped my rental off after driving down from Hilton Head. Location is very easy to get to (and back out of) and the gentleman working the counter was very personable. Such an easy experience, highly recommend Avis.

This is by far the best Avis in Saint Augustine! Always a great selection of clean cars. Rami and his crew Jimmy A&K are always great to work with and provide a great service with hospitality that sets Avis standards. You guys are awesome!
