Stay here! I am a big fan of the Best Western franchise and love the amenities offered. The staff was pleasant. The room was clean. So this motel is obviously a travel court that has been up-dated well. There was no laundry available. The rooms are small but comfortable.
There was no coffee prepared at night and only a grab-and-go breakfast in the lobby. I can understand the breakfast because there is no place to prepare it, but I was disappointed that there was no coffee after hours.
They do give vouchers for a modest breakfast at Mary’s Harbor View Cafe next door. This is an excellent little restaurant that has the charm of a locals place and a view of the bay across the street. If you choose not to use the voucher for the Best Western breakfasts, they still have a fantastic menu with a discount. The full order of biscuits and gravy was piled high on the plate and everything looked delicious.
All said, I would be glad to stay at the BW Historic Bayfront again. Because the location is across the street from the bay and the Castillo, and a block from the historic district shopping and restaurants, the location can’t be beat. Bring plenty of clothes and a big carafe of coffee.
Stay here!
Nearby activities: The National Monument, the sea wall is across the street. There are so many restaurants and unique shops just around the corner too.
Walkability: Lots of restaurants and specialty shopping a block away. Water views and it’s just across the street from the citadel makes this the best spot in town.
Noteworthy details: Water views and nostalgic vibe.

Ask to see the room before final taking. Was in a room with toilet stuck between sink and a wall. Such a small space good luck if your a bigger person. Quite a problem. Also the bed was so high I had to do a little jump to get on it. Location is the best.

The hotel was in a great location. Staff were wonderful. I would give this hotel 5 stars, but they charge you to park on the property!! Nothing mentioned when I booked. Nothing mentioned on the website. It cost me $18 a day!!!!!! Since when do you pay to park your car at a hotel?? There price was more expensive than the public car park!!!!!! Not happy!!!

Nice hotel. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Great location right in the middle of downtown. But the parking can be quite a pain, especially if it's crowded, as the parking lot is very compact. And depending on the time of year, or where your room is located, it can also be a bit noisy (there are streets on all sides and restaurants and bars right next door). So be prepared for that.

Upon checking in, Sherri was amazing. We arrived earlier than expected and asked if we could park our car in the parking lot so we could do some walking before checking in at 4 p.m. She asked us our name and told us that our room was ready and could check in if we wanted. What a surprise! After checking in, I asked some questions about the area and she was so helpful even mentioning specifics and details. We got into a discussion about military- my husband served 30 years in the Navy and she had family in served in the Navy. Sherri was just a pleasant person to talk with and was a breath of fresh air. As your first impression of the hotel, Sherri was amazing. We were then greater by a parking lot attendant who told us where to park. I didn't catch his name but he was nice and helpful. Once we parked, he told us to gave a great day with a smile.
We got a semi- waterfront room despite not paying for one. We could see a side view of the Bay and Bridge of Lions from our hotel room. The hotel room was clean and plenty of towels (which we always run into issues with when going to different hotels). My husband and I were able to drink two cups of coffee and not just one.
Later that day, my husband and I left our hotel keys in our room and were locked out. Chrissy was working the desk. She didn't make it seem like a hassle to get another key. She joked around and handed us another copy. Minutes later, we brought the keys left in our hotel room back down. Checking out the next morning with Chrissy was quick and hassle free.
The hotel room, lobby, and parking lot was clean which we appreciated. If I had to complain about one thing, it would be that there could be a chain hanging down from the two wall lights next to the bed. We tried finding a switch and we're unable to do so. We didn't realize that they were individual lights with their own switch (inside the light cover). We ended up having to unscrew the light bulb to turn it off. We found the switch the next morning.
For the price that we paid for the room and location, it was well worth it- not just the price point of the room but the welcoming employees at the hotel. If we're ever in the area again, we will be back to stay at this same hotel.
Rooms: Great rooms for great value!
Nearby activities: Walking distance to everything!
Walkability: Old Trolley Pickup right in front of the hotel

Very nice rooms. Great service. Great location. Good prices. Parking is tight and if you have a big pick up truck or large suv, you won't be able to park at the hotel as there is no room.
Rooms: Very Nice, tall beds, smaller side, clean, good looking.
Nearby activities: Walk around St. Augustine
Walkability: Walk to many sites in St. Augustine

The best place to stay in historic downtown! The Old Time trolley stops in front of the hotel. Lots of restaurants and shops in this walkable area. Good people watching with the waterfront balcony, and the pool is also a nice touch. Loved the room, bed, and blackout curtains. Exceptional staff! We just loved our stay here.
