Everything about The Columbia screams excellence. From the old style atmosphere to the deliciously prepared menu and all the way to the wonderful staff, The Columbia exudes taste and glamor. It was an awesome dining experience that was thoroughly enjoyed.

Definitely a bargain with excellent food and service for a reasonable price! We had seafood and chicken entrees and both were good (my wife's chicken was actually the better of the two). The apps were delicious and we both should have stopped eating right there (full), but no, we kept going and even ended up sharing a nice piece of Key lime pie. Yum!

The sandwiches were dry, dry dry with no condiments & none available. Our sandwiches were extremely disappointing with only broken plantain chips for a side. I can not recommend this.

This place has gone way downhill. Overcooked pork. Inferior fish. High prices and spotty service. Stay away

The first time we tried Columbia Restaurant at Ybor City and were very pleased. This time, I made a reservation at St. Augustine. Despite having a reservation, we still had to wait for 10 minutes due to the crowd. The decor and atmosphere were very nice. We sat in the section with a pool, and as soon as we sat down, the service began. This time I tried the Palomilla and really liked it. It was wonderful. Despite the meat being thin, it was cooked very lightly and not tough at all. I ordered plantains on the side, and they paired wonderfully with the meat, salad, and plantains. We were very pleased with the service and the food. Additionally, the gift shops were very nice. We bought a wine cooler, the prices were reasonable. I recommend exploring them after the meal.

We’ve been here twice now. The first time we weren’t sure what we thought of the food but having been back I’d say the food is a solid 4-star. The signature house house salad which we didn’t care for the first visit, actually tasted better the second time and had delicious flavor to it. The sangria is good—not the best I’ve had by any means—but be aware it comes in a very small “pitcher”. The location is gorgeous with multiple levels, rooms and courtyards of an old Spanish building. It’s extremely popular and the wait both times was extraordinarily long. The first time we waited well over an hour for a table (maybe closer to two) and the second time we had a reservation and still waited past 30 minutes to be seated. Our waiter both times was attentive. The host staff seemed scattered, disorganized and unfriendly. The acoustics are also poor so the noise level is quite loud inside. This won’t be a quiet intimate dining experience and our party of six couldn’t even hear each other speak unless we were shouting. We’ll be back.

I've never had a chance because it's always so busy so finally I got to sit and have a meal. When I say the food was good it was good! Now ik why the place is always super busy and hard to get a table at!

Food was cold. Chicken fingers were salty. Overpriced and overrated.

If you’re visiting this restaurant, I encourage you to make a reservation. We visited for lunch on a Thursday and thankfully had a reservation because the wait was an hour and a half. The restaurant was packed. It’s surrounded by shops if you need something to do while waiting for a table. Even after being seated, we waited 25 minutes for our drinks. The scallops tapas were incredible and worth the $20. My husband got a Sangria that he enjoyed and I got a Mango Tango drink that was large and refreshing. Our entrees however were very disappointing especially at $32 each. The yellow rice was moist. The grilled snapper was so dry I was not able to eat it. My husband’s stuffed salmon was just okay. Given the service was very slow and the food was marginal we wouldn’t go back.

You absolutely cannot beat the ambience and service that you get at the Columbia. The food is exquisite, the wait staff perfection. The building as historic as it is is beautiful. I always get the sangria and the paella this time we ordered churros for dessert. This is a beautiful restaurant that is timeless and will return again and again family friendly family owned. This is a jewel in the middle of the historic downtown St. Augustine. WhatKid-friendliness: They offer a kids, venue and several families were sitting around us
