7 locations found near St. Augustine

“This review is a little late... My wedding was in September 2025. I had been planning my wedding and was looking for a place in St. Augustine to host my reception. We're from Miami so searching for a location was not as easy as it seemed. I stumbled upon Pena-Peck House while in St. Augustine for a weekend and searched it online (they were closed while I was there due to a holiday). I thought it was exactly what we had been searching for by the photos and what I could see from the outside. I decided to contact them and they replied quickly letting me know they were available and offered to show me the location through facetime since I could not go physically to see the location once I got back to Miami. I agreed and fell in love with the location through the phone. They were super helpful and friendly throughout my wedding planning journey and I was finally able to see the location in person a day before my wedding since they graciously agreed to let me drop off my decor. It was PERFECT! It fit all 80 guests perfectly with room to spare and all of my decor went beautifully with the venue. I had minimal florals because I knew this venue had a very green and garden look, so a lot of flowers weren't needed. They set up everything perfectly and made the process very easy. My only concern with them was the set up and break down time. They only allowed us to begin set up 3 hours before the reception and 1 hour for break down... It would've been nice to give my coordinator more time to set up... Some things were not done properly, but I could not fault my coordinator because 3 hours to set up is NOTHING especially for a wedding. That is my only complaint. Other than that, everything was perfect.

Edit: Thank you for your reply. That was not communicated to me. Another thing that wasn't communicated to me while planning was the lighting situation in the tent. I asked for lighting 2 weeks before my wedding because I had realized and asked to confirm that the tent did not come with lighting. I feel like that should have been communicated when we first spoke about the tent. If I wouldn't have asked, my guests would've been eating in the dark.”

“This place is so much more than a canteen for veterans and civilians. Yes, the beer is as cold as it gets, the food is southern homestyle amazing, the service, friendly and efficient - but it's much more that sets this organization apart. For 20+ years, they have run a free, comprehensive, after school tutoring and enrichment program and summer camp for at risk children. 'The Legion', as the locals call it, is the heart of the community. It's where people gather after funerals, for a repast. It's where community leaders meet to plan ways of bettering the lives of their neighbors, and celebrate the successes of one another. It's where baby showers and wedding receptions, anniversaries and birthdays are celebrated. I've never seen an organization more involved in bettering the community that AL Post 194. I've never met a warmer or more genuine group of people. Book their hall for your event, or stop by for some delicious homestyle eats. They're also on Facebook, so you can see what the specials are.”

“We came to town with a bag of clothes from Ohio and they gave us a voucher here in Florida to get free clothes from their thrift store. Thank you so much for the help. You are a blessing to us.”

“One of the best organized thrift stores I've been in. When we travel, we always visit local thrift stores that give back to their community, and this is one we really liked. The majority of the goods are in a back warehouse-sized area, easy to get around. We were here on a gorgeous, dry spring day with low humidity so being in the back area was very comfortable. It might be a little toasty on a hot summer day, but still worth the time to browse.”
