If I could give zero stars for my experience, I would. Both associates were trying to help one elderly couple at the register for 15 minutes and the self checkout was not working from the same couple who had it messed up. The associates did not know how to fix it. Then, after waiting in the long line, a man walks right in the store, ignores the line completely, and says he’s there to pick up a package. The associates helped him before the rest of us without telling him to wait in line. Seriously? Do better.

I stopped in Saturday after eating breakfast at the Cuban place next door and was psyched to find a spin rack of paperbacks by the store entrance. The books cost $3 and among books by Christine Feehan, Tom Clancy, and John Sanford, I found News of the World by Paulette Jiles, a novel that was made into an excellent Tom Hanks movie. Most Dollar Generals don't have a paperback rack so this was a nice discovery. The rest of the store was the expected fare. In addition to the Jiles novel I bought some pickle-flavored Dorito's that tasted like an experiment gone wrong.
