I don’t like giving negative reviews, but this IHG hotel is in really bad shape. I am a diamond member so that means I have stayed at a lot of IHG hotels, and I have to say this is the worst one in which I have stayed. The hallways were not clean, the carpets were seriously stained and were in need of vacuuming. The hotel had a distinctly unpleasant aroma. There was torn wallpaper and wall trim missing in very visible places. The ice machine was in an area where a washer and dryer may have been, and the area was rather unclean. There may have been some renovation done in the past, and it was not done very well on the ceiling in our room. The tub surround needed caulking, and there were gaps where we are sure moisture has settled and may be generating mold. The toilet in the room appeared to be built for children or very short people. Our experience in the breakfast buffet area was also less than memorable. There were no warming “sternos” under the food pans, meaning that the food was tepid, at best. At breakfast, we mentioned to the hostess/server that the coffee urn was not dispensing, even though the level indicator showed liquid in the urn. The hostess simply looked at the level indicator and said it had coffee. We had to show her that it was not dispensing. She told us more was being made, and she would let us know when it was ready. She had the urn refilled, then neglected to mention that it was now full. Very poor service.
We were scheduled to stay there for 7 days and after the first night we canceled our reservation and found another hotel to stay in here at Saint Augustine.

I don’t have all the words to express how grateful I am for this hotel as I am still currently a guest. From the first phone call I made to inquire about evacuating my home from a hurricane, I was met with kindness and compassion. The staff, from management, front desk and restaurant staff, grounds and housekeeping staff are exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Sometimes it’s the little things and simple kindness makes a huge difference. The hotel is clean. The room we stayed in was lovely and comfortable. Our dogs were happy to be here too. The grounds are beautiful. Great place to have a long walk with your dogs. Pool is beautiful and restaurant patio is inviting. Again, thank you to your entire staff for making a scary time so much easier. I won’t forget this and I will pass along my great stay to everyone I know.
Rooms: Clean, spacious, beds are comfortable. Beautiful view.
Safety: This hotel is very safe. Well lit parking lot. Locked doors. Staff always available.
Food and drinks: Breakfast buffet is awesome! Home made cookies are to die for.

Rooms are nice. Clean. Staff is very helpful. Had an issue with our ac unit in our room due to the storm. Staff was very helpful, got us into another room quickly and gave us partial credit for the inconvenience. Would come back.

The hotel smelled like mildew. There were stains all down the hallway on the carpet (some looked like bleach stains). White stuff (possible drywall dust) all down hallway. Exterior side doors either didn't have locks or were left open. Kleenex box was empty but had 2 kleenex folded and stuck into the top to look like it was full. Bathroom floor grout was black, if you walked on it or put a towel down (after showing), the black stuff would come off on to it. Big yellow ring on the floor around toilet. They wanted $16 a person to eat breakfast. The carts to bring bags in were rusted and very dirty (gross). Some doors through out building were rusted and had holes in them. There were holes in the wall of our room. Possible mold under the mirror in bathroom. The sheets on both beds had holes and tears in several places.

Room was good and large but when we crawled in bed at 11pm, the bedsheets and comforter were extremely damp. Like way damper than normal and comfortable and I've stayed in many hotels in South Florida with lots of humidity without this issue.

This hotel is not as nice as any of the other Holiday Inns I have ever stayed at. Even Holiday Inn express hotels are nicer and better maintained.
This hotel smells like mildew and the carpet in the hallways Is full of stains and bleach spots.
The front desk personnel were kind and professional. They even thanked me for being a good elite member, but didn't offer me a bottle of water, cookies, or even a package of microwave popcorn like they do at every other Holiday Inn.
The elevators also stunk. It smelled like dirty mop water was used to clean them. I RARELY leave negative reviews. Look at my other reviews and you will see that I am generally positive. However, I will not stay at this location again until major renovations have been completed.

Do not go here! Staff was okay for the most part, room was terrible. The moment we walked into our room we were hit with such a strong bleach smell my girlfriend started coughing and I got a headache. The next day we asked them to not use as much bleach and they just didn't clean the room at all (all we got were new towels and new Keurig cups). The bathroom itself had rust in it, chipped tile, and water damage above the shower (see photos). In the bedroom not everything was plugged in and the floor had some bumps in it (can kind of see it in the photo). On top of all of that they charged 16 for a breakfast that every other hotel gives you for free. Location wise there are some good restaurants nearby but there are also just nicer hotels nearby so go to one of them.

Breakfast ends at 9am, next closest place is 20 minutes away.
Beds are comfortable
Curtains are broken, no fan in bathroom. Tub doesn't drain well.
Won't be back

I stayed here Aug 3 and it’s Aug 25 and they still haven’t released my deposit. That’s why I’m upset. The staff is cool but the hotel needs work. Our first room was falling apart as you can see in the pictures. So they gave us another room and when we woke up in the morning it was water on our floor from the air conditioning unit. I tried to give IHG a chance but I believe we are going back to Marriott.

Room was dingy and had an overpowering smell of bleach. The hallway leading to the room smelled of mildew and floors were dirty. Breakfast was $16 for a very underwhelming experience...NOT WORTH IT! The only positive was the friendly staff.
