The Lightner Museum is a well-known historic building located in the heart of St. Augustine. Housed in the former Hotel Alcazar, built in 1888 by railroad magnate Henry Flagler, it offers visitors a rich experience of art, history, and design. The building's architecture and history are impressive, with a collection that showcases items from Mr. Lightner’s extensive holdings, including Tiffany glass and a glass engine with mother-of-pearl inlay. The museum features many collections that are continually updated, providing a glimpse into the past when the hotel served the wealthy during the Gilded Age. Guided tours help visitors envision life during that time, with knowledgeable guides sharing interesting stories about the exhibits. The museum is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with last admission at 3:30 p.m., and offers affordable ticket options, especially when combined with trolley passes. While some visitors find the museum small and sometimes rushed, they appreciate its fascinating collections and beautiful architecture. A few note odd security measures, but overall, it is considered a worthwhile stop for those interested in history, art, and architecture.
I love the museum and I went there once a month for probation

Full disclosure. I am a museum nut. I love walking around reading the signs and learning about history. To that end, this place was awesome. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here, and would recommend it to anyone that has an appreciation for history.
