Needed a new surfboard leash and came across this shop , what great customer service they had the leash and it was cheaper than all the other shops as well as the customer service was unbeatable , do yourself a favor and give them a try !

After stopping by 3 or 4 surf shops in the area, we came across Mangrove. We were searching for a particular type of skimboard. They informed us that they were no longer renting their boards because they because they did not consider them to be in good enough shape to rent. The man offered for us to take a look at them. They did have one that was the type we were looking. The man then offered us the board to use at no cost. He said he did not feel right taking our money for the board. I considered that a great gesture and would recommend Mangrove to anyone looking for any type of surfing supplies or whatever else they may have to offer.

What a cool surf shop. Chris, the owner, is a local and a native and he knows his stuff. The staff is friendly and helpful. I arranged a surf lesson through their insta page for my daughter's 16th birthday and it was a huge success. Reasonably priced lesson that included board and wetsuit. The shop is filled with all the surf requirements as well as trendy beachware, local art and more. This is the place to go for a local experience, not a tourist one.

We had a great experience at Mangrove Surf Shop. Sean was so friendly and helpful. This was our first time to the Atlanta Ocean and our boys wanted to learn to surf. Sean set up a lesson with Tom for the next day. Tom was great and had them standing up and riding waves on their own by the end of the lesson. Later we came back to rent two surfboards. Our boys loved surfing and can’t wait to do it again next year.

Our entire family had a surf lesson today including 5 kids. The instructors did an awesome job helping us all learn and especially with the kids. The shop itself is very nice and had a nice selection of clothing and surf necessities. I highly recommend we will be back for sure.

Hired Mangrove to give my 6 yr old grandaughter surfing lessons. Instructor Liz showed up at our house on time fully prepared and did an amazing job with Skylar. Patient and understanding and had her surfing in from 40 yards out. Very satisfied and highly recommend.

What a great one stop shop for all things surfing and even some extras, no electric bikes though, just analogue LOL. I have bought fins, a couple boards and clothes from here where the staff was extremely helpful, accommodating and knowledgeable. Be sure to support this local family owned shop, a true community asset with events and offerings to promote staying local.

My daughter loved her lesson with Brandon. She has had lessons on various beach vacations but she felt this was the most informative. Mangrove is our spot when we come to St. Augustine. Thanks guys!

The place for all surf essentials. A true local shop focused on community and making sure you get what is right for you. Clean, well organized with such helpful staff. The owner Chris is incredibly down to earth and makes you feel so welcome. Cade is super knowledgeable and helpful. Don’t bother with any other surf shop, you found the one.

I was in need of a hat and what I found was memories.We were staying across the way for a week, and I wanted a new hat for the beach. This is a small family owned business, and they were so helpful. Ended up finding an amazing swimsuit where all the other shops had wash away bikinis, and a hat. Later we came back to rent two surfboards for our kids, and this is when the memory making began. Our youngest, 9 y/o daughter was standing up the first day, the second day she was paddling out with her dad , spotting “swells” and riding solo. She named her board “Alice” and she cried when we had to return it, but she said some other little girl would get to ride Alice and that made her smile.We will be back next year to visit Alice and The Mangrove.

Ive purchased from aqua creep and a few others in the area. Difference is honestly the customer service. The crew at mangrove makes you feel at home, there's nothing worse than going in with a few questions only to have kind of a condescending tone and Mangrove is the furthest thing from that. you walked out knowing more than what you assumed you would and they're just friendly. Also they're more of a core shop so they're going to have none of that high production volume garbage. Shawn is my dude!!
