The new management has failed miserably. This was our go to place as Florida residents who enjoy frequent visits to St. Augustine. No More. This week we had to get out bed to pack up and change rooms at 10:30 PM due to an inconsiderate guest who left their dog alone in the room to bark constantly while they went to town. The next day I left a message for the manager asking for a courtesy credit, and to call me. I received no call, so I called back later to see if they had arrived. They did, but rather than get on the phone, they passed a message on through staff that they would provide the credit. When checking out, no credit had been applied... I was told by same staff that he would likely do it when he arrived. We are long gone... still no credit, no phone call, no apology. An utter lack of integrity, and service by the new owner/manager who clearly could care less about customer service. The staff are clearly doing the best they can under such poor leadership. Good luck. Steer clear.

I was there with my family and our Newfoundlands this past Thursday-Sunday and was very happy with my stay! We were there with the Newfoundland Club of Florida for our annual meeting and club participation in the Christmas Parade and it went so smoothly! The new owner is very nice and treated everyone in our club very kindly! Would 100% stay here again next year. Bonus that there's a coffee shop and dessert shop within walking distance! Great weekend!

Had a tiny glitch checking in but it got resolved. I’m glad it did…it was a top notch stay! Great staff, great dog area, great breakfast. The owner went above to make sure the group I was traveling with with our big dogs was comfortable n well cared for. Very well maintained place. Thank you for accommodating us crazy dog folks. New owner n staff are the best!

Absolutely charming. Staff are genuinely kind, and the room was one of the nicest I've seen. Only thing I would suggest for the rooms is softer mattresses, but that was not a a drastic concern. I will be back in a couple days for another event, and Im very excited.

We have come here on several occasions when it was Southern Oaks Inn but on this trip discovered they switched to Quality Inn. We appreciate that they have more mind for pets but you can already tell there are changes that are making it more of a chain rather than the place it was that had much more attention for the animals (like dog beds, water bowls, and new balls being thrown out into the dog park). When we arrived Friday night 12/5, we were told they had a new policy in place where it was mandatory for them to enter and turn down the room on the 3rd day. Now, I have seen this policy before elsewhere but usually here, if you had animals they wouldn’t come in to service, no matter how long the stay unless you asked and worked it out and you could ask the desk for needed things. So at check in this time the guy mentioned that whatever time you have available everyone and the dogs needs to be out and you go and inform the front desk that to have housekeeping come in whenever ready and that’s that. Imagine my surprise when I send my husband to do just that this morning around 10:30 or so 12/8 and the woman at the desk tells him that’s not how it works and they can come whenever and you need to be there or tell them a time when you’ll be back today. We are on vacation and do not plan around them. So I had to go back down and essentially argue what we were told and our experience from previous times. I will admit that I had a frustrated tone and was a bit firm but the person at the desk wasn’t exactly nice about it from the get go, even to my husband. She also kept repeating the policy that they couldn’t service with dogs in the room, which wasn’t what I was even arguing. When I mentioned this mandatory thing had never come up before, she mentioned it’s always been there and she’s been doing this for 10yrs with snark. It was news to me and she clearly had a difficult time understanding and relaying what actually needed to be relayed vs. what she was telling me. Everyone needs to be on the same page. I have no problem complying but not when it comes with difficulty and ending up frustrated. I shouldn’t have had to push to get something to happen, but housekeeping did come after and they were very kind. They did, however, do full service when all we asked for was sheets, towels, and trash and that caused a much longer wait. Also, they turned our air up to almost 80 and left it that way, which would’ve been terrible had we just left for the day instead of returning to the room immediately. I do like that the charge has gone down for parking, even though I think the charge for parking isn’t warranted at all. The ice machine is currently missing, so that’s not fun. At this point, aside from the dog park it is now just another hotel and if I can pay the same amount to have the dogs and they are allowed elsewhere, we may consider it unless they really try to bring back the pets being more centered.

First of all, sad this place was bought out! Southern Oaks was so friendly and had a family vibe and was not trying to nickel and dime you. Having to pay 20 a night for parking is not right - you are already getting a room rate. Breakfast used to be home style and served fresh and now we are resorted back to mediocre corporate-driven cheap food. Need more variety for food and for coffee selection/creamers. Also not having ice machines is not right either. These need to be replaced or have bags of ice for sale. Room was clean and the shuttle offered is nice and I’m glad you are only charging $5 per room and that makes sense for fuel and maintenance.

Dog park is great. Staff is friendly. Rooms are simple but clean. Large fridge, microwave and Keurig in room are convenient. Requested dog beds and got them late the first night. Shuttle to downtown is $5/room/day and saved a lot on downtown parking, and dogs are allowed on the bus!

The hotel is in transition to Quality Inn. I think it is the most dog friendly hotel I have ever experienced. Their $5 per room per day shuttle service to downtown is a great way to get yourself and your furry baby strain to St.George st and enjoy the POIs of St.Augustine

Overall a great place. Bed mattresses need updating to softer beds.
