The St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum is a non-profit organization dedicated to discovering, preserving, and presenting the stories of the nation's oldest port. The main attraction is the iconic, black and white striped lighthouse. Visitors can climb its 219 steps, which are doable with several good-sized landings to catch your breath, to reach the top for spectacular, beautiful, and jaw-dropping views of St. Augustine from the outside deck. The experience includes much more than the climb. The well-maintained grounds feature a maritime museum with lots of history to uncover in the keeper's house and other outbuildings, all included with admission. The team also discovers shipwrecks and saves historic buildings. For a different experience, the museum offers the nightly ghost tour, Dark of the Moon. A visit supports the mission to keep the light shining and the stories alive.
Lovely little piece of history. Well maintained and friendly/helpful staff. The view from the top was breathtaking.

It's so beautiful 😍 very well maintained grounds, the lighthouse stairs are difficult to climb, but if you make it to the top, the view is spectacular!!! It's worth it.
