I had the misfortune of dealing with these predatory, vulture, bottom feeders while parked at the Publix across from St Pete Beach today. I did shop there, went across the street with my sandwich and planned on getting the rest of my grocery items an hour later. Needless to say, Publix lost the cash that I was going to spend there so how this towing would be a benefit to any of the businesses there is beyond me. The manageress at Publix who I spoke with admitted that even staff occasionally found themselves towed by these predators but I am calling Publix corporate tomorrow as well. The parking lot was by no means busy when I arrived - at least 1/3 (if not more) of the spaces were free and most of the businesses were closing as it was nearing 5 pm. There was absolutely no need for this. The most egregious part of this is that I am a Type 1 Diabetic and am insulin dependent. My insulin was INSIDE the car in a small cooler now miles away just so some bottom feeder could put their hand out. My CGM monitor was blaring away alerting me that my blood sugar had risen to well beyond the highest reading of 400 on the monitor. Stress increases this. (Add to that my CGM was nearing replacement time (this incident tied me up for 2 hours) and we had to drive home blind to what my readings were as the CGM had expired.) In the meantime, I was beginning to suffer from severe abdominal pain and blurred vision, the beginning signs of DKA. Thankfully it didn't happen on this occasion, but I have had seizures when my blood sugar has gone that high. Comas are another wonderful outcome when deprived of insulin. Reap what you sow, A1. Hope that $202.91 that you relieved me of was worth it. You almost left my kids without a mother. My husband is in the automotive repair industry and guess who he will NEVER call or recommend...

I was lost downtown tonight and I popped out of the car to ask for directions and left my husband in the car for less than 2 minutes with him in the drivers seat and the tow guy tried towing his car with him in it! That’s crazy and predatory. My husband tried to tell the guy we were just lost and I came back to him screaming at my husband saying he’s not allowed to be lost in this lot. Literal scum of the earth. That kind of behavior is really unstable and one of the employees is gonna end up doing that to the wrong person and get shot.

I've had 2 encounters with these jerks! One was they towed my car from a handicap space in my apartment complex and would NOT release it without charging me until my landlord talked to them, the second one was my car broke down and the shopping center it was in knew about it and they let me know I didn't have to worry all that much. A-1 still towed my car. I'll admit the second one was somewhat my fault but, they have been disrespectful both times. Btw if there was a zero or half a star I would be giving them that.

The worst, all the reviews here are real. And there is nothing you can do. They will not give you your car unless you pay, even though they towed your car wrongfully.

These people are extortionists. They towed my car from the restaurant I was eating and then demanded money. They literally steal cars . Their business is a total racket. I can’t believe the city allows it

This business is the worst they will tow your vehicle for no reason! They towed my mother’s vehicle when she lives in Texas, saying the license plate was expired when they don’t have registration like Florida! This business is really conducting business and an unprofessional and scummy way!

Tell truck 131 to get out of the middle of the road. I didn’t get towed, but watched the embarrassment happen. Just because you tow, doesn’t mean you own the road. Also, real sloppy job. I’d be concerned if I got towed by this company.

My van broke down at the corner of 66th Street North and 102nd Avenue in Pinellas Park after I visited Bank of America recently. The vehicle's battery seems to have drained itself despite having replaced a brand new alternator from Autozone. It seems like a recurring nightmare because it has happened to countless numbers of my previously owned vehicles, no matter if it was 3 year old Lexus IS250 or this 24 year old van.anyways,A-1 was very courteous and professional. Did I mention that their price is the best so far out of 7 different towing incidents that I've used in the past so far.knock on wood that it doesn't happen every 200 miles.anyways, they towed longer distances and yet the price was way cheaper than the competition. Keep up the great job,A-1.i would highly recommend.

Predatory towing, worst customer service. Had to call the police due to unwarranted threats when trying to retrieve my vehicle.
