I have been going to this store for five years now. The employees are so happy to help you, so eager to be of service, such a lovely group of people. The owner should be proud of the people he has hired especially the young man, Dorian and young woman, Charlize. Even as young as they are, their professionalism and efficency should be rewarded and commended. I asked them their names recently because I intended to write this review. Please take care of your employees kind boss. I can safely say that all of them are just superb at their jobs and wonderful to their customers. I applaud your Good hires Boss! The manager Malik was disrespectful. Refuse to wait on me. He waited on customers ahead of me . I also allowed someone to go ahead of me since they had a couple of items. Malik stated that Colleen would ring me up. Thinking Malik was going walk away from register to go take care of things. 2 others have since come up be hind me. Malik started to ring the gentleman up. The gentleman asked me if I wanted to go ahead of him since I have been waiting. I told him no. I will stay where I am at. Since Malik refused to wait on me. Malik never apologize or even said one word.Everyone around including Colleen was apologizing for how I was be being treated. I told them all no need for them to apologize. Still Malik still had not said anything to me as I walked out of the store. I almost was going to leave the buggy full of things. Go elsewhere. Colleen was happy that I stayed and let her ring me out.

Store seems small and crowded at timeS with items.. also at times it might be out of stock, but right now it IS our ONLY storre on this end of town. Which might explain much. Five STARS are for the employees.. always the best and so very friendly. Helpful also. Almost tipped today! Thankyou.

The manager was rude today and allowed a customer to cut me in line, even though when I walked up there was nobody behind me. I’m not a rude person nor do I ever try to cut anyone in line so I was very disappointed with the service miss Connie offered today. Usually have a welcoming experience here but her attitude was bad.

Place is a mess with stuff everywhere. It seems like a busy store and they have no help typical dollar store labor model not their fault. They have the essentials if you are in a pinch.

I’ve moved to this area and have been going to this Dollar general for a few months. Lately the little white lady with the curly hair has been an angry bird for the last month . Everytime ive walked in there she hasn’t been friendly but I usually don’t say anything because they are always busy with one person at the register. Well this time I went in on New Year’s Eve night and the line was wrapped around the corner but I was in no rush. I sat in line patiently but when I got up there the lady rung my things no greeting, no smile , nothing but after that transaction I asked to put money on my card . For one she put my change and receipt on the counter even though my hand was out.I give her a 50 to put on my card but before she totaled the amount out and popped the drawer open I immediately said wait do 51 because cash app takes a dollar . She told me once she put the total In she can’t go back . Even though I’ve put money on my card a million times and no one has ever said they can’t go back and modify a total.(the drawer hadn’t popped open yet either) But she continues to say if she changes the total her drawer will have an error. So I say ok no worries I’ll do another round. This time I tell her to put $11 but she made a mistake and put $20 and immediately canceled it out and put 50 I asked her how was she able to cancel out 20 but not 50? I asked her this in a polite way my whole encounter with her was polite and calm. She gets loud literally the only one u hear yelling is her saying I’m about to walk away because I’m getting frustrated and your being rude . If anyone goes and run the camera back I didn’t look aggressive and neither was I talking loud . She was trying to embarrass and humiliate me out of her lack of self control and I don’t appreciate her lying claiming I was rude for politely asking a question. I told her if she has no patience for that type of job she may need a new one. She then says it declined to let u put 11 on your card and I don’t know why. So without saying a word I walked off. I do not have a car and putting money on my card was very important that night for something important for my kid . It’s not fair to treat customers horribly because u don’t like your job . I work hard for my money as well and if this lady continues to work here I will avoid her at all cost. They have made her feel that she can be as rude as she wants and get away with it: and a huge liar slapping the word rude on ppl to justify her horrible customer service and tries to use that as a reason to not service u. Now this may have just been a bad day for her but every single time I’ve came she is always unfriendly but this time I felt I needed to do a review. I will also take this matter to the internet to warn ppl this lady will lie on you . I’ve never been rude with anyone at this store I’m very offended at the way I caught a stray bullet because she was having a bad day. Thanks for cameras because someone like her can’t be trusted if it was her word against mine without proof.

so much garbage!! Wow this place is a f'n mess. Garbage everywhere and thats just outside! Plastic bags floating down the street into the water and everywhere else. Disgusting, who even shops here?!

First time in here today. Exceeded my expectations from wht I have seen in the past on these stores. Yeah no fresh produce in this food desert, but that is high loss. Could use some frozen vegetables at least. Certainly similar to the crowded lanes in Walmart but man its close. Not bad. The selection was decent and no problem. Give this a 4 star for something left in this desolate part of St Pete.
