Shocked to learn from my mother that she was not allowed to use the restroom when she came in to review her tax return this year. This seems ridiculous to me. The reason given was that too many Publix customers come in to use the H & R Block restrooms but I do not see why that should affect a repeat customer! Otherwise, my mother has been happy with the work that the accountants here have done for her!

Called here a month prior about amending my taxes was told they could absolutely do it for me for a fee of $100 because I hadn’t originally filed with them. Today i went and called before to push my appointment back and the receptionist I spoke with informed me due to covid it would be a drop off situation completely understandable. Concerned about the process since I’ve never experienced an amendment I told her my appointment was in fact an amendment and asked if there was a possibility I could sit with someone and about it. I was told that wouldn’t be a problem. When I got to the Stuart location I did indeed see a customer sitting with an associate in the waiting areas answering questions. When called to the front I informed the receptionist about my appointment and was told immediately I would need to drop off my paperwork and go. I told her I was simply amending my return and was asked if I had a copy of my return. Of course I didn’t because I have no idea how this process works. But when I asked if it was her I had spoken to on the phone the receptionist lied to my face and said no. I only wanted to know why i wasn’t informed of what was needed when I called earlier. Before I could ask another question the receptionist repeated “we need a copy of your return” over and over again very obnoxiously and loudly. I told her I could hear her and also that I could understand her quite well. But she continued to repeat herself very rudely. Then she called an associate over told her nothing about my appointment and had the associate tell me the same thing as if they couldn’t understand that I could understand them. Realizing in my car after them publicly embarrassing me that since I filed with TurboTax I can just pull the PDF up online. Again I’m not sure why no one in that office couldn’t mention that since I had already made an appointment. After pulling it up I called back from my car in the parking lot to ask if there was a way I could email the PDF or if they could print it out and spoke with the receptionist again only to have her act completely confused and have no memory over the situation that occurred less than ten minutes ago. She put someone else on the phone I figured was a manager but quickly realized it wasn’t by the new women’s lack of communicating skills and willingness to learn what exactly happened. Needless to say I understood in that moment I wanted nothing to do with this location h&rblock due to their unprofessionalism lack of communication and joke of a customer service. Completely disgusting at how I was treated I decided to save my $100 and amend my taxes elsewhere. Rude.
