There are a lot of women's clothing boutiques on this street in historic downtown Stuart. The Island Cotton Company opened in 2011 and specializes in cotton gauze clothing and accessories which are perfect for Florida humidity. They opened a second location in Tequesta in 2017. Island Cotton Company has a large selection of women tops, bottoms, skirts, dresses, layering pieces and accessories. The clothes are causal, comfortable, and colorful. They are designed for the resort lifestyle. Some of the jewelry is handcrafted by local artists. Prices are on the higher end, around $60 for a top, but during my visit they were having a 50 percent off sale. They also have a lot of cute gift items as well like soaps and lotions. I had a lot of fun going through their jewelry and handbags. Island Cotton Company is definitely worth a stop in downtown Stuart.

Pushy, pushy, pushy. I want to look around, ask questions if I have them, and get help when I need it. The woman working in this store hovered over me, kept taking things off the racks to see if I would like them, and kept bringing me things to try on when I was in the dressing room (I did not ask her to do that; I just wanted to try on the two items I found). I left. I will never go back.

I went into the store to purchase a shirt for my mother in laws birthday. I’m not the best a picking out woman's clothes to say the least. The two girls working helped pick out the awesome shirt I ended up getting with a matching necklace. They were so pleasant and helpful! They then offered to wrap the gift for me which was above and beyond what I could have wished. I 100% recommend Southern Cotton!

Alot of inventory. The cotton clothes are made well and last a long time. They hold their color for a long time too. I have been shopping here a long time. Good service too!

The owner Michelle is amazing and they have great quality items the best part is you can find perfect comfortable outfits you can dress up or down. You are able to get everything from shoes, dresses, casual pants, and shirts, necklaces, earrings, purses, hats, and rings you name it!

First tried returning a damaged $89,00 blouse she sold us with a hole in it. The two sales woman, both started today, did not know how to apply a return or credit, so, they called the owner, who refused to speak with us in the phone. This after several attempts at calling her. They asked us to wait over a half an hour, then, we had a horrible experience with the owner Michelle Davis, who accused us wearing the blouse and causing the damage..she stated there are NO RETURNS,
