Monterey transmission hooked me up with rebuilt tranny in my 2014 ram 1500 hemi 8 speed
The owner and his wife were very patient with all my calls waiting for the work to be done
Would definitely go back for more work when needed

they seemed nice over the phone so I drove over 40 minutes from home to *try* to give them business. they kept my car from 815am to 445pm while I was stranded in Stuart waiting with no contact or updates on an issue I already knew the solution for bc the dealership I went to previously took less than 2 hours to diagnose and communicate.
I had to call them right before closing to ask about the status of my car. they told me "they couldn't get in touch with the dealership" regarding the price of the part I needed after confirming the dealership was indeed correct in their diagnosis. I left after this egregious waste of time and told them to contact me with that information. it's now been 7 days of radio silence.
I'm unclear if this is racially motivated, due to an irrelevant football rivalry, or just terrible business practice, but after reading the supremely immature google review responses, I'm going with the latter. how long were you intending to keep my car? they keys on the keyring didn't give you indication that id want to go home at some point?
I'll be damned if I ever step foot into this establishment again let alone drive their business. don't even bother responding, you'll only make yourself look foolish trying to put me down with a likely childish defense.

Called for advise and Maria answered and was just so brutally honest and informative about my situation. So I decided not to take car in and yes they’d lose business but in reality gain 10 fold for their honesty. Thank you so much Maria. Being my car is so old not worth fixing for me.

Monterey Transmission ansmissions is stellar. Every since I've been in Florida it has been hard to locate a mechanic like I had in Georgia. My 2016 Toyota Camry begin to show lights on my dashboard for the ERD, the engine light was on, the ABS light was on, and so I took it to Advance Auto for diagnostic and they advise it was a sensor associated with the transmission. I called around to other shops who were primarily focused on money. One mobile mechanic said I charge $150 just for a diagnostic test. I then contacted Monterey Transmission for help. They had me
to bring my car in for a diagnostic at no charge. When I picked it up they had cleared the codesand advised it was one code that was associated with the engine and I would need to have my mechanic to check. . A few days later the lights came back on and from my research online and the code they gave me I said I need to check my gas cap. Once I changed my gas cap all the dashboard lights went away. Overall being im not a mechanic they could've told me anything and charged an excessive fee,but they were honest and helpful to assist from the very first call I had with Maria. She was very welcoming and so was John who took the time out to explain the code to me. It's sad to say but you can't find to many mechanic shops around like this one. I highly recommend them.

Process was smooth and quick, John and his wife are the actual sweetest. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for transmission needs. Rebuilding my transmission came with a three year warranty.

Leaving the owners of this transmission specialist with 40+ years of experience a 5 star review (John and Maria), for the wonderful and honest phone consultation that they gave me regarding a 60k cvt fluid flush on my mass produced but well maintained 2021 Altima (Yes, I embrace my Big Altima Energy)Anyways, even with the drastic improvements since their original run in 2008, we all know that there still doesn't seem to be a straight answer on when or how to maintain these efficient, but finicky transmissions.However, Ms. Maria confidently assured me that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", especially considering that the vehicle is not used for towing, but to instead focus on scheduled engine oil replacements and to of course listen to the car as I go beyond 60k miles. The key point being that once you unseal these new CVTs and cause an issue, THEY CAN ONLY BE REPLACED, NOT REPAIRED OR REBUILT...Good luck getting this kind of advice at the dealership btw...Needless to say, I've taken her advice and can now use that $400 to do my brakes.Thanks Maria!

John and Maria are fantastic. In todays day, it’s so hard to find that old school family trustworthy feeling business. John kept my vehicle 17 days because he is a perfectionist. He almost gave it back after 14 but called me and said “ I want to keep it a couple more days. I feel good About it but I just want to be 100% sure “. I have already given their card to 4 people. If you have any issues with your transmission, look no further. I promise you won’t be disappointed. Kudos John and Maria. Keep up the great work.

Having to get a new transmission is never a good experience but at Monterey Transmission they make something bad into something great. Friendly, caring, family atmosphere that makes you feel better about your car problems. I appreciated how the owner, John took time with me and explained everything. He also said he would take a look at the engine to make sure there weren't other problems before he did the work. My experience was 5 Stars.
