From the start this was a bad trip. The first mate, Pat is very off putting. He doesn’t engage in conversation or offer help. Captain Ron is no better. They are both quiet and distant. My son had a good fish on (finally) and it got tangled in other lines due to the current. Instead of trying untangle it or explain what was happening to my son he just cut the line. No explanation, no apology. He just cut it and moved on to fix the tangle that was not my son’s fault. This really out a bad taste in my mouth.
Now to the fishing, it was terrible. 20 anglers on the boat and we caught a total of 2 legal fish (both blue runners). The boat is very very slow, it took forever to get to the first spot (with the shore in very clear sight). The captain didn’t seem to have a plan. We went to 3 spots that were very spread apart, or at least spread apart for a boat of this speed. The squid they offered was clearly frozen squid strips, not whole squid to cut up. There is a big difference is scent and effectiveness. The whole outfit seemed cheap.
The boat was gross, the salon has two benches, no padding and no AC. It was very hot and quite uncomfortable. Not great for a slow boat with long runs.
Now to the most annoying part, the locals are allowed to dominate the back of the boat throwing free lines and very lightly weighted lines. It caused a situation where you had to be very careful to not tangle. It seemed the trip was set up for the locals and regulars and the rest of us were going along to pay for fuel.
I have fished party boats since I was 8 all over the country. This was the worst I’ve ever been aboard. I highly recommend looking for another boat while in town.

I had such a great experience! Very affordable which I love. The Captain was great! I was afraid I’d miss the boat due to traffic but he was willing to wait for me. Thankfully we were only late by a few minutes. He was very informative throughout the trip. Pat the deckhand was really helpful and super friendly! Definitely had a few laughs and he made a great photographer. Overall it was a great experience and I’ll definitely support this boat in the future for fishing trips !

My initial experience with Safari Deep Sea Fishing was very disappointing. I made a reservation and got a confirmation, drove all the way from Orlando, booked a hotel, and got up at 6AM excited for a fishing trip I’d been looking forward to for weeks. But when I showed up at the dock — no one was there. No call, no email, no notice. It felt like I’d been completely ghosted, and I was understandably frustrated after spending time and money preparing for the trip.
However, I really want to give credit where it’s due. The owner, Rocky, personally called me after seeing my review. He was professional, respectful, and sincerely apologetic. He explained that the trip was cancelled last minute due to weather, and the failure to notify me was absolutely not how they operate. He took full responsibility for the communication breakdown. I respect Rocky for stepping up and handling it the right way once he found out.
Even more importantly, he offered to reschedule the trip at my convenience, completely as his guest, to make up for the experience. That kind of accountability and customer care is rare and truly appreciated.
While the initial situation was frustrating, Rocky’s response showed integrity and a real commitment to his customers. I look forward to giving them another shot — and I recommend anyone booking in the future just confirm the night before, especially if weather might be a factor.

Great day trip, family friendly and so much fun! Captain Rocky and his First Mate Pat are amazing, they put you right on top of the fish - all you have to do is show up and reel 'em in!

The safari was absolutely the best time! We caught so many fish + laughs! Rocky and Pat are the best! So helpful and knowledgeable! definitely will be coming again! I would highly recommend!

Best boat in town. I've been going on it for 30 years. Myself, family and friends have never left without a keeper. The captain is extremely knowledgeable. He does his homework the night before so I've never been to the same spot twice. He always put you on the fish. The mates really go above and beyond. They're very friendly, always want to help you and are hilariously sarcastic. Everything you want in a fishing trip. Don't be surprised if they change your tackle or give you premium bait to catch better fish. These guys really want you to catch fish. Highly recommended! Best trip we had with them was a dozen snapper, 2 cobias and a shark. You can also flatline. I got two bonito my last trip

My son wanted to go offshore fishing for his 11th birthday and we booked our trip on the Safari on Sunday and I want to just say shout out to the captain and both the mates Pat and Jimmy they were great we had such a great time not only fishing but bonding with my son on a great boat we will be doing this again soon just a perfect boat and operation to do some father and son bonding

Great crew, great price, and great catches!! I have been fishing in the area my whole life. Safari I is the best! They will take good care of you. Bring some food and drinks for the beautiful ride. Make sure you bring a cooler for your catch!!! Kids will love it too! A great learning experience. Enjoy!!!

Great half day trip, went with some family and had a great time. The boat was good and spacious, the crew was great especially mate Pat, I got my hook snagged well over multiple times and he replaced and took multiple sharks off for me. Would highly recommend was lots of fun, and we all caught a decent amount of fish!

Horrible experience. Captain and Mate were very arrogant and just had bad attitudes. Whole boat maybe caught 15 fish if that, all small. Boat is so slow most of your time is spent getting to and from fishing spots. Boat only moved once even though no one was catching. Mate also gave atleast one of our fish to someone else, I physically saw my mark on a fish that was getting fileted for someone else. You’re basically paying for a short boat ride on a real pile of junk boat. Highly recommend looking for other options. Funny thing is other people wrote very similar reviews, so it seems that’s just the way things are with this boat, not just an islotated experience.
