We’ve had our 5 month old, unaltered male, Golden Retriever puppy back from obedience training for a few weeks now and he has been a dream! They had our pup for a little over a month and were very helpful and communicative the entire time they had him. I love that they shared updates on his progress on their social media and have been answering all of our questions since we picked him up. Every time we go out with our pup he get so many compliments on his behavior. Even his vet was impressed with his behavior on our last visit. We are so thankful for Rick and everyone at the K9 Training academy for all of their hard work and dedication to our fur baby! We will be sending any future doggos to them for training as well.

Absolutely amazing. We (my wife and I) had a dog who we never trained and it was very difficult to deal with. Since his passing =( we always vowed that when we get our next dog, we MUST get them (and us) trained. We couldn’t go through a non trained dog again. So when we got our amazing new add on to the family, all we heard was how great The K9 Training Academy was. And boy were they completely RIGHT! WallE was only 12 weeks when he was sent for basic training. (Honestly, I was scared and worried that he might be too young, but I figured they knew what they were doing). He was returned to us an absolute dream. The Academy was always super communicative with progress reports, pictures and videos of his progress. The trainers were always so nice and informative. They insisted on us picking him up ONLY when we had an hour so that they can train US on how to continue his training. It was a lot of information, but they taught us everything. WallE is thriving and we are constantly getting compliments by random strangers on how well behaved he is. They are always shocked and astonished when they learn he’s only (currently) 4 months old. We can not over-state how amazing The K9 Training Academy and their entire staff is and how how grateful we are for them. “Thank you” is not enough.

Let me start this review by saying that Richard and his team are AWESOME, and I HIGHLY recommend their establishment for your obedience training needs! We have a Husky known for being intelligent, loving, hardheaded, and destructive when bored. Richard had previously trained my parent's chocolate lab, so we knew firsthand the results that his team produced. When I first called Richard, he was warm, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We were able to set up basic training for our puppy, with advance to be completed once the puppy turned six months old. As stated before, Husky's are known to be hardheaded, so basic training did take a little longer than I anticipated, but Richard said he would let us know when Arctic was ready to come home. Communicating throughout the process was light and to the point. Richard is a man that will get right to the point and is honest and fair. But if you are looking for daily or weekly updates, that will not happen. If you text him, he will respond and give you updates; but I tried to reach out only bi-weekly as I realize that they are busy training dogs and running the company's day-to-day operations. I only say this because it is a little challenging to put yourself in the mindset that you will not be getting a play by play each day as a puppy owner. So prepare yourself for that before sending your dog off. That was a minor price to pay for the peace of mind I have with Arctic being fulling trained. I am now comfortable when my son takes him to campus after level one and can't wait to see how he is once he returns home from level two. One of my main concerns with having an untrained dog is my liability if the dog nips or jumps on someone in public; that thought no longer keeps us awake at night. Arctic has gained so much freedom since he is obedient, and he knows exactly how to behave in both public and private settings. My family's massive fear when we first began this journey was that the dog would become some militant zombie dog, and I can tell you firsthand that could not be further from the truth. Arctic's personality is still there, he loves his tummy rubs and playing outside, but he knows when he is "on the job" and how to follow commands to keep him safe. Richard, I cannot thank you and your team enough for the professionalism and dedication you all provide Arctic and our family. The ball is now in our court to ensure that we are consistent for the long haul.

I may be bias, but if your looking for real life dog training , look no further. The k9 training Academy offers on and off lease training for all breeds. It is one of the only few schools that deal with aggressive dogs and fearful dogs. We have proven time and time again that all dogs are trainable, you just have to have more then one method of training. Now locations in South Florida and Central Florida. Check out the videos on the youtube channel TEAMK9CLUB. True obedience speaks for itself.

We love The K9 Training Academy! We started our pup at 9 months. He was a rescue and had learned some bad habits such as jumping and had developed social anxiety with other animals while he was fostered. Thanks to The K9 Training Academy, our boy gets compliments everywhere we go. He’s had major improvements and is such a great listener now. We used the board and train program and will be forever grateful. The staff that works with him is amazing! They are accommodating, friendly and super helpful. They train the owners as well as they train the dogs! Always responsive to questions and teaching you how to continue the work at home. You can tell they love what they do! We even board our pup from time to time and they are always the number one choice. He comes home exhausted but happy and finely “tuned” on his training! The K9 Training Academy was one of the best decisions we ever made with our pet!

Since the time we adopted our dog, Luke, I really thought he was untrainable. We had attempted multiple individual dog trainers in the area and saw no results. As time went on, his behavior became more out of control...he would jump on people (in excitement), display protective-aggressive behaviors towards other dogs, and would pull so bad on the leash it made walks unenjoyable. I was very, very skeptical about how he would respond to this training program when we enrolled him in the board & train-however, I will happily admit that I was wrong about the expected outcomes. Richard & his team do an awesome job of teaching the expected behaviors/commands to both our dog & to us so that we continue to experience success with Lukes behavior. The k9 Training Academy training has given us back the ability to take Luke with us wherever we go without having to worry about him advancing on other dogs, jumping on strangers, or ripping our arms off by pulling the leash. It has greatly improved our relationship with Luke. I cannot express my gratitude toward Richard, his trainers & staff, and this program. You guys are the BEST!

My corgi puppy was about 6 months old when she went to The K9 Training Academy. She wasn't wildly disobedient or have any major behavior problems. She is just stubborn, she likes to listen when she wants to....... which is not often. She is not heavily motivated by treats, most programs didn't get her buy in.She did the board and train here and now she is so much happier! She knows exactly what I want from her and she rarely gets "in trouble", because she doesn't act up nearly as much. She knows the expectation. She is still a fun loving puppy, we still have great play time. The difference is now, I can also bring her in public with confidence.Richard & Chris were very helpful and knowledgeable!I highly recommend The K9 Training Academy.

I got Chloe, a lab puppy, right before COVID happened and I figured, perfect timing, I'll have lots of time to train her on my own in between work. I was wrong, she wasn't bad, but as Richard recently said , 'dog's don't make the best choices on their own!' We did the 30 day board and train and woah, what a difference! Chloe is more responsive to commands and continues to improve with each challenge.. The staff is great! They truly educate you and are very passionate about what they do and truly want to help you and your dog get out and have fun! I would highly recommend The K9 Training Academy to anyone struggling with their dog! It is a lot of work and patience, but I can not wait until things are back to normal and am able to take her out with me, because of all the tools and techniques we have learned!

My dog Bently is a large American Bully and we used 2 other local trainers that just couldn’t get the job right. Richard and his crew truly delivered us a brand new dog. They also took the time to guide and teach us things we never knew we were doing wrong.Thank you so much for helping us with Bently! We are sending everyone your way!

We brought our 11 month old dog there for four weeks of board training. Let me start off by saying I was told the dog was going to be trained locally in Parkland but instead He was placed in a crate in the back of a truck and driven 4 hrs during the day in hot Florida weather to Orlando. We received our dog back a month later in horrendous condition. He had sores on his elbows in the back of his legs, as well as a cut on his head that they said he did in his cage. He also had two deep sores on his neck where they kept shocking him. He lost 17 pounds ( at 11 months old), his ribs were showing, he had a UTI and was pooping straight BLOOD. He also had a terrible skin infection which I later found out was MRSA (staph). It will be something he has to deal with for his entire life now. He had pustule's with hair falling out all over his body. He was placed on various antibiotics and medicated washes which took months to clear up. He was placed on antibiotics for the urinary track infection and we found out that he developed worms and that's why he was pooping blood. My vet was so appalled she suggested I sue them. She said this was negligence and abuse. Furthermore we called once a week to check on our dog. Every time we called he sounded completely annoyed and he was very demeaning on the phone. Our dog now has PTSD, we cannot even get him in a crate. Biggest regret was taking him here. He was definitely traumatized! Surprisingly a few months later another dog owner reached out to me who also had similar experiences. His dog lost big patches of hair and had a bad skin infection.

Lina, a one year old mix, was high energy and appeared to have some aggression toward other animals. She was constantly pulling on the leash when she was walked. I found The k9 Training Academy online and after viewing many of their YouTube videos, we knew we had found the right place for Lina. What Richard has accomplished with Lina is incredible. She has been home for a week now, and she is a different dog. She listens, she is controllable, and she is very happy.Richard truly is a miracle worker. I recommend Richard and The K9 Training Academy Team. We are so happy with our dog, the money was definitely well spent.Thank you ! Thank You!

- [x] I am not one to leave “bad reviews” I know small businesses have it rough and such things are very subjective. I have to express though my dissatisfaction with the service my dog and myself received from this company. They came highly recommended and I am sure for many they are a good fit. My experience was good at first very responsive and pleasant and professional in person. The issues started after the took my dog for puppy training who was about 5 months old at the time. I certainly understand not calling and checking up often and after a next day call I waited as requested a little more than week to call to check on my fur baby as I was told to check social media for updates which didn’t happen until after I called in that instance saying I wasn’t seeing anything. Most are updated the day after they take the dog but that wasn’t the cause of my dissatisfaction. First issue was when I asked about how the training was going ( after two weeks of doggie being gone ) I was told my dog was a bad dog on his way to being really bad and he needed more time for advanced training, my dog was sent for puppy training so advanced training was unacceptable for his age and I had to correct the owner about this who acknowledged that he was mistakenly doing this . Then ( about a week later after seeing a post) I asked a question privately to the owner about my dog giving them a hard time to be groomed because he looked disheveled and I knew he could be stubborn this was met with passive aggression about being” accused” and that my dog would be coming home that week, no mention of training being completed and this was after telling me he was taking longer as the training was hard for him. My dog came home not fully trained and with puncture marks ( 14 the groomer counted ) around his neck from a pinch collar that they never explained that they were going to use and sores on both his elbows that are still healing ( see pics) he also had to go to the vet as he had copious diarrhea a full week after ( $340 later) for antibiotics and testing. Thankfully he was ok .. but the owner took no responsibility for my dog’s condition but tried to offer free training to recompense.. I honestly would not let him or anyone that works for him breathe near my dog again.. completely unacceptable behavior and treatment .

Owner is pompous and they promise more than they deliver. Be prepared for the owner to throw blame at you and act like he’s doing community service fixing the bad habits you gave your dog. Newsflash dude, have you seen your prices? That’s what we are paying for. If we didn’t train bad habits, you’d be out of work. His son was cool though. Seems like he’s a good trainer and had a good attitude.Summary: overpriced, underdeliver, and owner is a j****
