I rent U-Haul from time to time, and my experiences haven't always been great. However, this location has been the best by far. The staff was friendly and polite, the equipment was in great shape, and the paperwork was completed quickly. I highly recommend this location for your U-Haul rental

I had a very positive experience with the Nob Hill Road location. This location had a lot of vehicles and the staff was very customer friendly. I was in and out in 5 to 10 minutes max. I definitely recommend this location as the equipment including the dolly was in very good shape. If you are looking for a smooth and easy process from reserving a vehicle to picking one up and returning then this is definitely an excellent place to try.

Called ahead to confirm they had a receiver I could rent for the trailer, was told yes. I showed up with my hitch and friends truck. My brother went in to pay for the trailer and grab the receiver but came out with the wiring harness for the brake lights… the lady came outside to see what he meant by receiver and didn’t know that the part bolted to the truck frame is the receiver and the square tube with the ball is the hitch… insisted I was mistaken and said she had been in the trailer business 8+ years. Shows you don’t gotta know your own industry these days, so I attached a screenshot of a quick google search for education services.

TERRIBLE!! I wouldn’t even give them one star if I could. Made my reservation two weeks in advance for the smallest truck they had. Upon arrival they were unable to locate my reservation and then upgraded me to a bigger truck for no additional charge due to not having the truck at the location I request. I was charged DOUBLE then what I booked my reservation for. Well here we are a week later.. I call simply trying to inform them that they did not take the old off of my card and I have no yet been refunded. The guy tells me that it’s because I got a larger truck. I explain to them the situation then the reason I was charged more changes to we didn’t put gas back in the tank. When in fact we did. The guy on the phone was super dismissive and was not trying to help me whatsoever. He said “they’re busy”. Sure they are or maybe they’re so “busy” because they are so unorganized and unprofessional. Don’t go to this location unless you want to get scammed and pay the price of the employees mistakes.

I recently rented a vehicle from U-Haul, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The customer service was notably lacking; I felt more like a bother than a valued customer throughout the process.
When I arrived, there was no clear explanation of the rental procedure. I was given the keys but no direction on where to locate the vehicle. It would have been incredibly helpful to have someone walk me to the vehicle, not just to ensure I found it easily but also to inspect it together. This would have provided peace of mind, knowing the vehicle's condition before driving off the lot.
The return process was equally disappointing. There was no inspection; I was simply instructed to drop the key and go. This lack of final inspection poses a risk for customers. Any damage that occurs after the vehicle is left in the lot could mistakenly be associated with the customer, leading to potential disputes.
In summary, U-Haul could significantly improve by providing better customer service, clear instructions, and more thorough vehicle inspections at both pickup and return.
