Tallahassee Airport Avis/Budget JEOPARDIZED OUR LIVES by giving us a car that had two front BALD tires and a rear tire with a screw in it. They do not maintain or inspect their vehicles and they gave us this vehicle knowing we were driving over 10 hours!! They do not deserve one star!!I tried to exchange the vehicle prior to the tires because the seat was broken and not comfortable for the disabled passenger but they refused. After leaving there the back tire pressure was low because it had a screw. Stopped at another local Avis/Budget where they claimed to not have vehicles, put air in the back tire and told me to take it to another location or all the way back to the airport.Next thing you know, the back tire is flat. Spent about 8+ hours in the phone trying to get help from customer service and/or roadside assistance. Roadside assistance wouldnt help.They finally tell me to take it to discount tire for the repair who then informed me of the bald tires. I just knew it ran rough, I never would have guessed the tires were COMPLETELY BALD. There are no cars available anywhere to exchange. The screw was sideways so it needed to be replaced. I had 3 bad tires and went to the shop they use on contract. AVIS/BUDGET had the opportunity to repair the tires so my family could be safe. They chose to NOT AUTHORIZE the repair. And they refused to give me a different car. They just left us stranded. I had to drive an unsafe car in the steady rain (2nd day of rain) to find another car.Our plans are disrupted, we had extra expenses in hotels, we finally got a different car in Gainesville. (Nice employee Terrence there). Although they said they were sold out, they somehow found us a safe car after a while.We missed the appointments we had scheduled and will have to take off work, school, and pay for another car for multiple days and have more hotel expenses. All because Tallhassee doesn't inspect their cars and are okay IF YOUR FAMILY IS KILLED.The Avis/Budget employees should be fired!! The manager should step up and take responsibility for this location. It is unacceptable!

I’d give this place zero stars if I could, along with budget. We rented a truck from budget on Monday August 14, 2023. We were driving from Tallahassee to New York , which was known, as I previously had booked a 12 inch truck. Upon arrival our 12 inch truck wasn’t available, only a cargo van was available. We had no choice but to take it even thought that was not was I reserved. Immediately upon starting our trip we realized the break pedal loose, the speedometer was inaccurate and the cars speed would not go over 70 MPH which is extremely dangerous on certain highways given their speed limits. Also at night we realized the location we rented the truck from in Tallahassee had covered the check engine light with tape. There was also a sound of electrical wires touching! Please try to understand we had no choice but to move, however the conditions of the truck were extremely unsafe for the time and distance of the trip. The budget associate who gave us this vehicle was well aware of the fact that we would be driving from Florida to New York- which is a 2-3 day drive. I’m appalled that this was even allowed, undocumented and not presented to us when we rented the truck. I did contact budget and they offered 25% back, which isn’t enough in my opinion, as calling roadside assistance would have cost us that much.

without question the worst rental car company i I've ever dealt with. Rented two vehicles from the Tallahassee airport location. same story each time. I show up on time to long line with one person working who is in no hurry. The state agency I work for contracts with Avis and they had to have just been lowest bidder.

My 22 yo daughter rented a pickup truck on line to move her apt furniture from our home town back to Tallahassee. She checked that she was over 18, but under 25. She booked, and got a confirmation, for a pickup truck. The weekend of her trip she wasn't informed until she got to the counter that they don't rent trucks to anyone under 25. (wtf?) Had she known, she would have gotten on the road a lot earlier. They also would not let ME make the reservation and her drive the car. Now I have to drive with her from Port Charlotte to Tallahassee AND BACK by myself (they don't rent pickups one way) in a weekend. They DID allow me (in Port Charlotte) to add her on as a driver, but the reservation couldn't be in her name. I would also like to add that, not only was she sorely disappointed getting the last minute news in Tallahassee, but the agent at the Tallahassee site could not have been more rude and dismissive.

Lost my reservation I placed 3 weeks in advance. The online reservation system will let you reserve trucks that aren't available/guaranteed at the location. I ended up having to drive to 3 different locations across town.

My mom made reservations the day prior to showing up at the location, was told something would be ready early and got there 7am and they never had anything available. I’m moving and I’m pregnant and it was such an inconvenience the way things were handled especially making her and her husband sit and wait for an hour then almost two just to be told they still didn’t have anything ready. I missed my move in and have to wait until Wednesday smh, don’t approve reservations knowing nothing is available or even there at the moment

Worst rental car location in America. Made a reservation 3 weeks in advance. I got to pickup the van at appointed time. No van or any vehicle that can accommodate 6 passengers. Even worse I'm third in line to get a van if one eventually becomes available. Did I get a phone call in advance advising me that a vehicle was available? No, because the manager would not have to be a moron in order to do that. Managed by complete idiots that showed no remorse or contrition or responsibility for their failure.

Reserved a cargo van over a month in advance. Called multiple times the week of pickup to confirm it would be available. Was told the day of when I went to pick up the van that it was not available and the next best thing they could offer is a 16ft truck... Would not recommend this company; they do not try at all to meet the reservation terms. Avery over at U-Haul @ FSU location hooked us up and saved us $500 - go see them instead.
