First appt with Jovan, so very pleased. He was very professional, full service, shampoo, and loc maintenance. Enjoyed getting full service and enjoyed getting to know him and have already scheduled my next appt. I ha e a new loctician and am so excited.

After thinking about it for three long years I finally had my sister locks installed in August '21! Selena was nothing but patient with my indecisiveness and questions about this new journey: the install process, upkeep and how the locks would look with my gray hair. Over the past 11 months i have enjoyed having to do "Absolutely Nothing" to my hair. It's the most carefree and consistently beautiful hairstyle I've ever worn. I've been using this salon since they were in the Tharpe Street location; my visits are always enjoyable. I've had the opportunity to watch several of the Naturally "U" staff develop over the years. I started my loc journey here six months ago and I love my stylist Javon. He’s amazing, he does such a great job on my hair. He’s very professional, friendly and always on time for our appointments. The atmosphere is very friendly and professional. Everyone is very nice and welcoming. This is the perfect salon to start your loc journey. I chose Naturally U Braid Studio because it has been in Tallahassee literally for years and at one point was what I considered an upscale salon who values their clients. My sister locs were established here. However after several re-tie appointments I never felt a genuine connection to the salon. I felt like I was on an assembly line and the main objective was to keep the line moving. At one point it was said by a stylist “ I hate it when these clients ask all these questions,the time to do that is in your consultation not when I am working on your hair”. Having heard that I was always reluctant to ask questions about this unfamiliar journey of sister locs that I was embarking on. After my 3rd re-tie I decided I would no longer continue to pay top dollar and be treated like anything less than a valued consumer. I had my 4th re-tie done by another local stylist and that stylist shared that I was grossly over charged for my installation, the number of locs that were installed in my hair was super low based on my hair, and that I was experiencing slippage that was not being addressed during my visits. I am not saying that this stylist was accurate in their assessment of my hair because I am unsure of how price and the amount of Locs installed are calculated ( as I said this is a new journey for me), but I must admit it caused me great concern. My install price was $1300 maybe a few bucks more and for that price the least I should have been able to do was to comfortably ask questions about my investment. I debated for weeks about leaving this review and it brings me no pleasure to not support black owned business. However , It is also unfair to treat clients with a lack of genuine concern for their hair, time and investment. Prior to having my locs installed I was with one stylist for well over 25 years. I don’t believe in playing the shop hopping games I enjoy having a relationship with my stylist, one who asks if I have any questions about my hair, do I have any concerns that need to be addressed etc. Having said this I would not recommend this salon based on my experience.

I’ve been going to this place for years and after each appointment I’ve never been disappointed! The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming! I always get compliments after I get my hair done. Javon is my stylist and he will get you right! They can be heavily booked for appointments sometime, but that makes sense due to the excellent quality they offer. Just book your appointment, show up on time and everything will work out!Services: Dreadlocks

I went here for my sisterlock installation and the appt was very professional and friendly. Selena and Rugayyah did a fabulous job and I'm loving my hair.
