This is NOT a fear free clinic if staff ignores their patients triggers and PROVOKES reactivity and fear for dismissing their patients needs. As stated in a previous comment on the review they took down I understand the need to want to lie to cover your own negligence but customers should NOT have to throw a fit to have their voices heard, especially when it comes to the care of our animals. Any vet that willingly ignores what their patients triggers are and then blames the animal for provoking them is not someone worthy of being called a DVM and should learn more about animal behaviors. Please be advised if you have an anxious dog at the vet or a breed at this vet. ALL animals regardless of their traumatic background deserve patience, kindness, and to not be dismissed by techs and doctors who are prejudiced against certain breeds. As a DVM, your main concern should be the well being of your patients, and having untrained staff provoke fear in animals causing behaviors you deemed "aggressive" and then repeating the process multiple times seems counterintuitive to that main concern and oath. Notes on triggers should be taken and recorded so that ALL staff is aware, and even when they are please advocate for your pet if they are continuously ignored, the only one who suffers is your pet. Please please please stand up for your pets at the vet when you have even an inkling that your animals are NOT getting the care they deserve and being blamed on for the vets lack of patience, care, and understanding. I hope for some that are pet owners, you never have to experience this.

WARNING: If you have any anxious breed or dog at the vet do NOT see Patrick Vickers (pictured). Patrick Vickers shouldn't be a Vet is he's not willing to work with heavily sedated anxious dogs who deserves to not be dismissed by impatient and unwilling doctors. The solution is always more sedatives, but even when my dog was heavily sedated on two medications and could barely walk up the stairs all day, Patrick Vickers dismissed us. He heard one small bark form my heavily sedated muzzled dog who was just frightened and shivering in a corner. He refused to care for him or even attempt to walk anywhere near my dog for no real reason. The third time with little to no attempt. Please know I will do everything in my power to let people with pit bull mixes and anxious dogs know they should NOT see Patrick Vickers. Do not waste your time it has been months of constant attempts at getting basic routine care only for your dog to be discriminated against. Please learn and do better because the one who suffers the most will be your poor dog.

I started bringing my puppy here over a year ago because of the amazing reviews I found online, and to this day I have never been disappointed with their care for my animals. The nurses are always so sweet and treat me and my dogs with so much kindness. The doctors are very informative and give you every bit of information you could possibly hope for as well as variety of treatment options for your pet. This is really important for me as I am a college student, so they always offer the most affordable treatment and student discounts. These vets are the only ones I trust, period. When it comes to your babies, you want them to have the best care possible, and Oakwood is definitely that.

By far one of the best vets to go to. They have two separate entrances for cats and dogs. Treats are provided at the desk and soda, juice, water and coffee are available for the humans. I don't usually have to wait long unless there's an emergency. I'm in and out within an hour. Every doctor I've had has been so gentle with my dog. They are super friendly and very informative with the visit. Never any surprises and they always offer suggestions. Every person I've encountered there has had a good attitude and offer great customer service. I highly recommend them for your furry family member.

I was purchasing a dog and I had an agreement with the owner that I'd take the dog to the vet, any problems that the dog had would be taken off of the asking price. I dont have a ton of money but I told the vet that I want pressing issues looked at. So I took him in on a thursday, I checked for worms and he got a overall health check. I was told that he had a minor ear infection. Well he was scratching really bad at his ears so I took him back for a recheck. Apparently a "full healthcheck" doesn't include looking into a inflamed ear. When I took him for a recheck the vet said he had a bad ear infection the second he looked into the ear. So he recommended me getting a ear panel or whatever it's called. They checked it all and he has a severe yeast infection. If they would have just checked the ear the first day the dog would have suffered less and I wouldn't be out $100. I do not reccomend. I give them 2 stars because the nurse was helpful. But the doctor was not.

The women at the front desk was so friendly and helpful, they got me in very last minute with a kitten who had a tapeworm. All employees were friendly, kind, and helpful. I will be bringing all my cats here in the future.

I don't use any other vet's office and can't say enough about this place. They always answer my questions and get me in when I need an appointment. My dogs exclusively see Drs. Combs and Deese, and they're like family to us! The clinic is clean, and the Staff is great. The Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful and clearly loves animals. My first dog, Wrigley, had surgery in December--a mass removal on his leg--and they took great care of him during and after surgery. Later, when I thought the mass had returned and had Deese look at it, she knew that it was scar tissue because she remembered exactly how she made the incision. She is very thorough and answers all of my questions every time. My younger dog, Turner, was neutered here (Dr. Combs), and he heeled perfectly--barely has a scar. When he had pneumonia as a puppy, Dr. Combs knew exactly what to do and had him feeling better pretty quickly. He's had no related issues since. Most recently, I had my first experience with having to use an emergency vet over the weekend. I took Turner to Dr. Deese first thing Monday morning and she had reviewed all of his records from the ER before seeing us and made him a priority until he was better. I was so thankful she was his Doctor. She made a call that spared him from needing surgery, and he was feeling better overnight. When your pup has to stay overnight at the clinic, all the doctors and techs have an app that show any movement and alert them if there's an issue and they go to the clinic immediately.
