I have taken my dog to their grooming services twice since we obtained her. Her first visit was to fix a cut that I had attempted at home that did not come out correctly. She was seen by Tracey and after I informed him about things she did not like, he took her back for services. I left and when I came back to pick her up, she looked great and was very friendly with her groomer, a good sign to show she was properly taken care of.
On my second visit, however, I was not satisfied with the results. She was serviced by Jess as Tracey was not available. When I picked her up, she was happy just like last time and ready to go home. When I took her home, however, I noticed discoloration around he nails and her bottom. She is a black and white Shih Tzu. I thought that this was just due to her previous self grooming as I read that saliva may sometimes change fur color when dogs overlick themselves.
I am saying this to say: she was not properly cleaned and groomed.
A week after her grooming, she ran into a muddy puddle outside before I could stop her and I had to bathe her. As I dried her off, I noticed that her paws and bottom fur were clean with no brown color. The hair in her ears was also long and dirty. I did not check it the day she was groomed as I talked to the groomer and she said my dog did well during her ear cleaning. This was obviously a lie as the service was not even completed.
Her nails also seemed to have been barely trimmed, if this service was even completed. After returning home from the vet, I could clearly hear her nails clicking on our wooden floors as she walked through our home. When looking at them, her nails easily touched the floor and and were longer than the "quick" of the nail visible.
I would share photos of her before and after, but I have none. I did not think to take photos of her after the groomers to show the job completed. I also completed what the groomer did not when I bathed her, so any pictures shared would only show issues I had already fixed.
Overall, this was inadequate service for $65. Why offer bathing, ear cleaning, nail trimming, and other services when they are not properly completed? I will come back for the store and to buy products, but I will never waste money with their groomer again.

bewildering and baffling that this store is open til 10pm when tallahassee is going to take a direct hit by a cat 4 hurricane by 9pm. absolutely no consideration for the lives and safety of the employees. shameful

Went there to pick up some canned food for my sick dog. They don't have much of a selection in dog food depending what you are looking for. I usually go with Royal Canin and Hills, but was looking for a small serving of wet food like Caesars but it wasn't available.

Jess is Awesome person and treats our puppy(Cane Corso) like she is hers. This 1 star doesn’t have anything to do with Jess.
7-27-2024 we had a appointment then my wife received a text message saying our appointment for Medusa has been canceled that the 28th would be available at 11:30am. So my wife went to make sure they are going to take Medusa started calling on Saturday and she had to call 5 times to get someone on the phone to verify. Good thing she did bec no appointment was made for Medusa so back again she made the same appointment on the phone for Sunday 28th July’ we get there and Jess has told us Medusa doesn’t like the blow dry or kennel from our 1st visit 6 months ago, so we only ask for Jess. We take Medusa every week for nail trim and every other week a bath. We also spend $ toys and food treats $90.00 every 2 weeks, plus the bill on top.
Today we got the lady with the green hair and she put Medusa in a kennel for 1hr & 10min. Remind you we sat in our car for a 1hr. Then walked in to shop for dog and wife saw the girl inside and she said we haven’t got to your dog. Last week we were canceled because the said they had computers problems, . So 2 weeks later 7-28 the lady with green hair decided she wasn’t doing Medusa’s appointment. 2 ppl in there doing 2 small dogs and Medusa takes the big table and for nails Medusa just sits and you ask for her paw and trim her nails. We will never be back there and such a waste of time by the green hair lady. We will miss you Jess. I Question the lady why 1hr & 10 mins that there’s not dogs in here and you haven’t gotten to our dog. I wanted to know and explained that this is nonsense, she said you don’t owe anything just leave..I said I will come back when Jess is here. I was told not to come back. Everyone loves Medusa there “I guess this lady doesn’t care”

On June 7, 2024 I made a reservation at the Petco at 1624 Governors Square Blvd, Tallahassee Florida 32301 to have my dog bathed and have his nails trimmed. I made the reservation online through the Petco website. The reservation was for today, June 11, 2024 at 1:30 pm. I thought everything was set and I even received several texts from Petco confirming my appointment. In fact I received one this morning at 9:40 am reminding me of the appointment.
Then at 1:02 pm today I got another text telling me my 1:30 pm appointment was cancelled! I also got a phone call at 12:58 pm from the Petco Groomers telling me my appointment was canceled because they were booked up and had no kennels available for my sized dog. Are they serious!?!? The girl wanted me to reschedule and she could " possible squeeze my dog in tomorrow." Really?!?! No thank you.
I told her that I had a reservation for today and I was actually heading out the door for the appointment. She said " Sorry. I don't know what to tell you. We don't have space."
I am appalled by this type of customer service. Not only is this a major inconvenience there was absolutely no empathy. The Petco website tells customers that if they need to cancel 48 hrs in advance. Well what accommodations are made for the customer when they are given 32 minutes notice?
I will not be using Petco any time soon.

Store was stocked with what I needed, a XL dog bed. My dog loves it. Reasonable price. Clerk was on the phone during check out.
