It has been two days since my visit to this salon, and I gave myself time to calm down before writing this review as objectively and professionally as possible.
I have experience working in a beauty salon in Europe (Dessange Paris), and I can confidently say that I have never encountered such unprofessionalism as in this salon. I have been wearing a classic bob haircut my entire life, and I know exactly how it should be done. That’s why I am still searching for a stylist who can perform it properly. Since I live in Westchase, I decided to try this salon.
My stylist was a woman named Elena. After washing my hair, she sat me in the chair and, instead of starting the haircut, she began blow-drying and straightening my hair. At first, I thought there was a misunderstanding, but suddenly she grabbed clippers and cut one inch straight across my hair. I was in shock and didn’t know how to react. Then she started cutting with thinning scissors from the roots to the ends. I asked her to stop, but she kept repeating, “Trust me, I’ve been doing this for years,” while continuing to chop away.
And this is the real issue - if she has been doing this “for years,” then she has been ruining people’s hair for years, and nobody holds her accountable. Who gives licenses to people like this? On what basis does someone like that have the legal right to damage clients’ hair and confidence?
Any true professional works with scissors - precisely and carefully - so that the haircut is easy to manage at home. A good haircut should look good after washing and drying at home, not just after a salon blow-dry. After a bad stylist, you’re forced to endlessly straighten and style your hair just to make it look acceptable. I know this very well because I have worn this haircut my whole life and know exactly how it should be done.
On top of that, during the appointment she repeatedly tried to sell me shampoo and mousse for “volume” because she claimed my hair was falling out. I explained that my hair loss is due to a hormonal issue and I am under medical treatment, but she didn’t seem to listen.
Meanwhile, I was so stressed that I started sweating, and the hair she had chopped with clippers stuck all over my neck and face. She wiped my neck so aggressively that she broke my favorite necklace with a pendant. At that moment, I was on the verge of tears and just wanted to leave.
In the end, I paid $100 for the haircut and still left a 10% tip. But I walked out with a terrible haircut and a broken necklace. I cried the whole way home and for hours afterwards.
This was an extremely disappointing experience. I will never return to this salon and do not recommend it to anyone. I hope my review helps others avoid the same disappointment and makes people question how such “stylists” are allowed to work in this industry at all.

I had my hair done by Carl and I honestly couldn’t be happier! I’m absolutely obsessed with how it turned out—every single detail is perfect. Carl listened to exactly what I wanted, made me feel comfortable the whole time, and the results exceeded my expectations. I walked out of the salon feeling confident and loving my hair more than ever. Highly recommended!

I moved from NYC to Tampa and was nervous about finding a new stylist, but Sandra has been amazing! She gives my hair the perfect volume and covers my grays so naturally. On top of that, she’s super sweet and makes every appointment fun and relaxing. So glad I found her here!

Sandra is TOTALLY AMAZING! 😻 Great personality, super responsive to customer needs, and a true professional. Her hands are made of gold.
