This is by far the worst bank in the world. They hold your money hostage and make it nearly impossible to access your own funds. Every transfer I attempt fails, and when I call for help, they disconnect the call while "transferring" me to someone else.
This is not just frustrating—it’s outright wrong. I will be filing formal complaints with the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the Department of Consumer Affairs, and the Consumer Protection Division. No one should have to deal with this kind of treatment from a financial institution. Avoid this bank at all costs!

Disgusted with the way I was just treated. I called to inform them that my family member had passed, and that I need to close their account. No "I'm sorry for your loss," or any comment. I started asking the rep questions, he decided he was done and dumped me into an automated system without notice. I called back a couple of times, no answer, more automated instructions to dial 3 then dial 0 then dial another number for another dept. No one answers, you're in a black hole that you can't get out of. The lack of professional and the way this rep (he didn't want to give his name) handled the call was beyond RUDE.

Worst bank; I have a credit card w them which thankfully now has a zero balance. When they get paranoid about security or you even slightly tick them off, they just love to put a block on the acct. You then have to go to the ONE downtown branch in person to have the block removed. (NOT AGAIN!!) There's a reason the name is BMo; bank is biological waste. Bank should be shut down

This bank location NEVER answers their phone! Overall the institution is impossible to deal with! Horrible customer service, make it extremely difficult to retrieve your money & close an account!

BMO is the worst bank in the world. We had the unfortunate luck to have our installment loan transferred to BMO. We set up recurring payments and we received a notice from BMO that the next payment would be paid. You would think you were done. However, 2 days past the payment due date we are notified of a late payment. I went immediately online and saw the money was not deducted. I went to BMO to pay the bill and I can’t- all I can do is call. So I called and now I am told the autopay of which I received confirmation of, did not actually happen and in order for me to pay this bill every month I can either call BMO or go to western union! I’m surprised they didn’t offer poney express as an option! What kind of bank doesn’t allow auto pay or at least online payments! Done and done with BMO DO NOT BANK WITH THEM! Customer service is horrible. You will not be allowed to speak with a supervisor and then the person you’re speaking with cannot actually help you. It’s like they don’t want us to pay our bills! Do yourselves a favor and stay away from BMO!

I was treated very unfairly and discriminated against by a branch manager in Tampa Florida at your Bloomingdale location , I mobile deposited a check from the City of Tampa for 5k on May 5th at 3:55pm receive email it was approved and processed on May 6th at 1pm and that funds should be available in 2 days , went inside the branch on May 7th looking for a particular employee Dami to speak to her about moving my business over to BMO she wasn’t there I left got in my car forgot I needed gas went through the drive up window filled out a withdrawal slip for $50 for gas a representative at the window advised me that my check had just been placed on a 7 day hold , contacted BMO Resolution Team spoke to a employee by the name of Jodie she was able to call the branch and speak with Gina, Gina then advised Jodie that if she wanted to she could release the hold and that she placed the check on hold because I walked in the branch asked for an employee , walked out and went through the drive-thru windows to withdraw funds. So Ms.Jodie released the hold ,$500 was available right then the other $4500 was suppose to be available May 8th, May 8th came there was another 7 day hold placed on the check , Called BMO again they advised me the check was endorsed to me and that it was sent to Fraud and that I had to have the owner of the check sign a Affadavit of endorsement and have it notarized in the branch mind you when I walked in the branch with the owner of the check Gina did not speak did not come out of her office nor did she greet us ,Once we signed the form and provided identification Fraud advised us that it will take an additional 14 days for the check to process and clear , the branch manager Gina could have advised fraud to take the hold off of the check because we were verified she is the one that put the check in fraud because she is aware that a Resolution Specialist could not lift that hold , she had no reason to put the check on hold in the first place which is why Jodie released the hold ,she is very unpleasant, unprofessional she is not welcoming or warm and she is not a people’s person she has ruined my days I run a business and I have to take hours and hours off of work to handle this for the last 2 days, I have been discriminated against and I will be sending a letter to the CEO , I am very disappointed and displeased I will not be moving my business over to BMO.

Terrible bank. Transferred 25K for a CD one year ago. Tried to call them 3 times. Their computer said it would be 45 to 49 minute wait each call. Sent e-mail. I just wanted the money sent back to my savings at CD maturity. They told me I could not do this until after the maturity date. I'v never heard of this before. When the CD matured they reinvested it at 0.05%. Their rate at the time was over 5.5% but they only gave me 0.05%. That is nothing less than theft! When I called them the 4th time they said they would not transfer the money back to my savings account because that was not secure. It was secure when they took my money!!! And they wanted me to make a 2 hour round trip to the downtown Tampa bank to get my money. We finally agreed for them to send me a bank check through the US mail. Apparently a 26K check is more secure in the mail than a transfer?? I learned my lesson and you can learn from my mistake. bmo has bad reviews for a reason.

This is the worst bank I ever worked with ! The customer service gave me tons of trouble to do the ID declaration and notary just to make sure I am the person to pay my own car payment! Hang up on me many times! Never ever do business with BMO !

Stay away from this bank. They're unorganized an hour and a 1/2. Wait for customer service. Overcharging your account, not notifying you of late charges until you have multiple charges just because your payment was one month late. The Collections department called me, and even though my payment was correct. They still charged me 2 months late charges, but I could not get ahold of customer care to talk to them nor go to the branch office. No one answered the phone. I have 3 credit cards. This is absolutely the worst one. I have never again stayed away from this bank.

Never have I come across such a difficult online access. I set up online profile correctly, they require a code sent to my phone to verify it is me with a message telling me to hold on because it would take upto 5 minutes to send the code. How efficient can that be in this day and age. So 5 minutes I waited, than 8 minutes , 20 minutes.....no code was ever received. I called customer service and she gave me a temp pw. With the temp pw I reset a new pw. Then their system said another code was sent to my phone. There was another "5 minutes" wait, then no code ever came. Then the whole process of nightmare began allover. Well, if you think your time worth nothing, go bank with them.
