February 2024 by Laura S.
We stayed at this hotel for 3-nights (Friday thru Monday) in early Feb, 2024. To be honest, our preference would've been to stay in a hotel in downtown Tampa but couldn't justify paying $200+ per night for a higher quality room that we would mostly just be sleeping in. The Days Inn offered a room for about $100/night, WITH BREAKFAST, but before taxes so the price was right. Location. (Our rating: 3/5). Parking was free and on-site but we used Uber for the duration of our trip. The Days Inn was 17 minutes from TPA airport at 10 pm on a Friday. An Uber ride to and from Centro Ybor was 8-10 minutes each way. And, finally, it was about 15 minutes from the hotel to the Carnival cruise port. Our Uber drivers all arrived within five minutes of our requests for rides. The neighborhood seemed safe, but there were no nearby restaurants nor shopping. The hotel had brochures for local restaurants with delivery options, and I assume that DoorDash would also deliver there. Access to the ramp for I-4 was very close but we didn't get too much highway noise. Our room. (3/5). On the positive side, our room was spacious and seems to have undergone some recent upgrades. Most importantly, the king-sized bed and linens (comforters, pillows) were comfortable and clean. The paint and trims were fresh. Flooring seemed quite new. The 4-drawer dresser/mini-fridge/microwave were on the new-ish side. The tv was modern and quite large. Artwork was bright, and featured a three panel beach scene. There was also a small separate room with small table and four chairs. The water pressure and temperature were good. HOWEVER, points off for some major or minor deficiencies. (1) our sliding glass door to the outside, which was the only source of natural light, was boarded up and couldn't be opened. Staff explained that they were waiting for new curtains and couldn't leave only glass for people to peer into private rooms. This resulted in a dim room. (2) three pieces of gold-colored furniture -- a couch, an armchair, and ottoman -- should just be thrown out. They sag and/or are dirty, distracting from the relatively new upgrades. (3) some of the renovation work was sloppy. Painting was fresh, but there were spatters on the floor and the painter rinsed the brushes in the sink and didn't sufficiently remove the paint. (4) there was a bathtub and a sink, but neither had a stopper. (5) no coffee-maker in the room. (6) there was a bedside table on only one side of the bed. (7) there were two towels and washcloths, but no bath mat. The bed's dust ruffle was wrinkled. Breakfast. (2/5). The Daybreak Breakfast consisted of the following: mini biscuits with small pork sausage patties; mini banana muffins; NutraGrain bars, and bananas. The juice machine had 4 choices: orange juice, apple juice, and two flavors of Sunkist enhanced waters. There was also a coffee machine. My husband (the coffee drinker) said that the coffee was very good two out of our three days. However, there were no bananas on our final morning, nor were there tea bags for me (the tea drinker) on any of the days (although the machine had hot water). Common areas. (3/5). The ice machine seemed to be broken. We didn't use it but we note that it had a towel on the floor in front of it. Hallway carpet was stained. The breakfast room was functional, with adequate tables and chairs, and a microwave. There was an outdoor pool, which we didn't have time to visit. Staff (4/5). Check-in and check-out were problem-free, and two staff members were very helpful when we had a problem with our tv (due to some disconnections from a prior client).

DO NOT STAY HERE. The couch in the front looks like it came from outside by the trash. I had to have the staff change all my bedding due to blood stains & other stains. JUST NASTY. The room had roaches & wasn’t clean. I needed the room for one night. It was inexpensive. Next time I will pay more money for better accommodation. This place is horrible. The only POSITIVE & I mean the ONLY. Our room had a sliding door that led out to a patio. You could sit outside & enjoy the weather. Pictures of the bathroom added. Days Inn do better!!!

This is the worst hotel I have stayed in in all my 30 years of travel. The fails are so many, Yelp may not allow me to fully tell! I will try. Said deposit is only returned after your stay as a credit. I am told It may take 3 to 5 business days for the credit to appear. From the moment I arrived, I knew this was not going to be a place to relax and get some rest. The parking lot is full of debris, a plastic bag by the front door with trash was the welcoming sign. Check in desk has a partition like those in banks to prevent.armed robbery. That alone should have warmed me of what was about to come! Agent informs me that there is a $50 check in deposit plus the payment of the two nights stay. I politely as for a room on the second floor and ask about breakfast. Was given a room on second floor and was told breakfast is from 7 to 9 am. A sign by the check in desks informs you that you are not allowed to have guests, no smoking and few standard no, nos. So if you are staying here only the registered guests are allowed on the property. The second floor room I was given was dirty and dilapidated with dark spots on bed sheets, missing lightbulbs and dirty dirty floors, i immediacy head to office to say, I am leaving. Clerks informs me I paid fir two night no refunds and offers another room on the first floor. Room on the first floor is still dirty but I had paid and did want to at least get in one night for my money. I have attached photos to document the condition of the first floor room. Trust me when I say it was dirty with old worn out furniture and many questionable sanitation risks. Here are the highlights. Only two bath towels and two small hand towels are given per room. One was so dirty (look at photo). One little facial soap and one shampoo bottle is provided. Bathroom shower curtain smelled of mildew and had dark stains. Tub diverter was falling off. Floor was dirty with many black spots. No tissue is provided only toilet paper of the cheapest kind. Both tub and sink had no drain cover. Remote for rv had no battery cover ( see photo) Small fridge had a block ice forming in the freezer section limiting lacing any item in there. Missing electrical outlet cover( dangerous) see photo. Bedspread had burn holes in two places. Slider door lock did not work. To Go Breakfast on morning one consisted of a fruit bar and coffee from an automatic coffee machine. Day two they at least had bananas and small sausage biscuits. No juice just a machine with water enhancers. I could go on but, I am sure you get the picture of how dilapidated the room and the hotel is. I cannot believe the health department has not closed it down! Wyndham should do a thorough investigation and remodel this Days Inn. During my two nights stay there was a questionable order of an illegal substance in the hallway. BTW, maid service/roomed cleaned/fresh towels only provided every other day. Never again!!!

If I could give this place 0 I MOST DEFINITELY WOULD!!!! It smells so bad in the room it self. Not very clean AT ALL!! Asked for 2 extra towels she had an attitude and asked me what happened to the ones in the room. I'm like are you serious, they are still there but I need 2 more. She then only gave me one. Saying that's all the have clean. I will NEVER EVER book here again thank God we only wanted to get a shower and a few hours of rest before getting back on the road.

NASTY AND FILTHY HAD OTHERS PEOPES SHOES CLOTHES ETC ALL UNDER THE BED AND DRESSER. THEY HAVE AN ISSUE WITH MAKING SURE TOWLES RAGS AND TOLIET PAPER IS PROVIDED. The floor is filled with trash dirt and tobacco. The restroom smells like someone pissed all over the shower curtains and the sheets were NOT WASHED! The floor was not mopped it was badly Sticky! Room service took 3 hours to bring me sheets and a towel! Worst Customer Service! Nasty nasty nasty! The don’t clean the fridge either. It had dead bugs, dust, food stains and crumbs. My 2 year old walked on the floor for less than 5 minutes and his feet were so BLACK the socks are no longer white! I let it slide for 48 hours but one day 3 it all got WORSE!

This hotel is gnarly. Lots of street people and questionable characters milling around the neighborhood. I saw some things that I can't unsee here and it doesn't feel very safe. Some friends in my group found a used crack pipe outside of the sliding door to their room. Very gross.

The worst hotel experience I’ve ever had… moldy air filter, no shower head, no smoke alarm, cigarette holes in the linens, dirty as it gets, the dresser was missing a drawer?…. Can’t believe they haven’t been shut down. MAJOR health concern.Horrible area on top of all this…Safety: The area was not good

The rooms are disgusting. They are not cleaned. Above your head where you sleep. Sheets were torn or cigarette burns in blankets. The bathroom so gross toilets were not cleaned. The smell in the place is like mildew.

Terrible smell in the hallways. Doors to the outside do not lock. Young lady on the front desk couldn't care less whether we were staying or not. Very unclean.

$96 for Saturday night in Tampa is super cheap and even though the toilet was dirty, I would stay here again because it's close to Hard Rock Tampa, parking is included, the room is cold, I did not see any bugs (yet), and check-out time is 11 AM. I just want to Uber to the K-Pop rave and have a place to sleep. My standards are low and so is the room price.

First thing you notice is the area. Terrible. We saw a roach in the vending machines downstairs. Terrible. Front desk guy had the worst attitude , once again terrible. Cleanliness of hotel absolutely not. It was disgusting throughout. It’s like slums. I booked this hotel for my fiancé who came in from Nigeria and I was disgusted. I told him if I had known it was this bad I would’ve never allowed him here but his flight landed at midnight so we had no other choice at that hour. His room was disgusting also. I hate he even has to stay a couple hours due to them having check out at 9am???? I stay at 3-4star hotels and all my life never heard of checking out at 9am. Please if you’re in town run!!! Don’t go to this roach infested slums of a hotel in the hood crackheads everywhere smh

I highly recommend seeking out other options. Place is filthy.. building is not secure at all. Grounds are covered in trash. Bed had springs poking through. Curtain was full of mouth holes. Bathroom door was disgusting. Standard safety latch on entry door was broken/missing. Hair dryer didn't work and almost caught on fire. They advertise breakfast and put out a basket of small gronola bars. Coffee machine is instant and tastes terrible. Unless you just got out of jail and have no other options do not stay here. Days inn needs to remove their affiliation as I have stayed in others that were actually quite nice.

Such a bad experience I had there, extremely unhygienic ? bad stinky smell all over the place ? room cleanings service was pathetic, cigarettes buds all over the place, $2 for a small bottle of water, breakfast was a protein bar, I got seriously ill just after 2 days of living there, bathroom was soooo bad ? oh my god and most annoying part was people (from hotel management) having s€x just above my room and I could hear screaming n all. Plz plz my humble request to all who are coming to Tampa chose any place but not this dirty filthy hotel.Rooms: Filthy small room fridge was brokenSafety: No safety at all, drunk people were there all over the place.
