Our youth hockey team had a really nice stay at the hotel the week of Thanksgiving. The big hits with the group were the location, the free breakfast, the free happy hour, the pool, the service, and the spacious rooms.
There is no better location in downtown Tampa. The trolley stop is literally right out the front door. Thunder Alley/Lightning arena is adjacent. The Riverwalk, restaurants, bars, Harbour Island, and Publix are all just steps away.
Everyone raved about the breakfast and having to be down there by 9:30am was good motivation to get up and start the day. The MTO omelettes were delicious and the chefs were so friendly. They also had a waffle station, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, home fries, bagels, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, juice, coffee, soda….really just about anything you could want.
The free happy hour was from 5-6:30 every day and our group took full advantage enjoying beer, wine, bourbon, and a variety of other house offerings. You can pay a little extra for top shelf.
Service was good from arranging the group booking to check in, to customer satisfaction inquiry texts during our stay, to getting an Amazon delivery to the front desk, to bar tenders, etc. The only service improvement would have been to receive a room refresh or two during our 3 night stay. We were always able to find a housekeeper nearby to replenish clean towels, though:)
The room was spacious and comfortable. Ours had 2 queen beds, sleeper sofa, wet bar with microwave and oversized mini fridge, chair, dining set for four, 2 TVs, ample drawer and closet space, and a safe. Everything was clean.
The reason for 4 stars vs 5 is the condition of the mattress in the sleeper sofa. That thing felt like a pile of coils. I requested and quickly received an extra mattress cover and comforter that we put under the sheets and that helped quite a bit. The second reason for the star deduction was one elevator was out of service for the duration of our stay. The third reason was that we were originally on the top floor which was under some sort of remediation. There were tarps trying to hide it but there were big holes in the ceiling and signs of water damage. The AC did not appear to be working in the hallways up there. My family went to our room but quickly decided that with our high sensitivity to mold and mildew that we best move away from any area with possible water damage. I called down and was immediately assigned another room and met at that room by an employee of the hotel who swapped keys with me…saving us a trip back to the lobby.
Overall, this is a wonderful hotel with many amenities and very friendly, professional, and helpful employees. I 100% recommend it and would book here again without hesitation! And thanks for the yummy cake slice!!

The front desk staff at check-in were great. TYLER, the parking attendant was excellent. I would recommend this hotel and location for its proximity to downtown Tampa, the cruise port, and various restaurants.

A little pricey at times, but our favorite hotel for when we go to the hockey games. Can't beat the location! A few steps across the street and you're in Thunder Alley!
They have pretty much always been able to accommodate our early check in and/or late check out requests - Which is such a big help when traveling

Location is great across from the convention center but overall seems dated and needs some upgrading. The rack rate says luxury but the rust around the vents speak otherwise. Rooms are smaller than other ES properties that I've stayed in but served it's purpose.
Parking is difficult, if you're planning to go out a few times then valet is the way to go at a $49 daily rate with unlimited entrance. Otherwise, the $26 per entrance at the garage is the other choice

Dissapointed. The location is great, but the service and hospitality is subpar. Between the line to Valet (the only option to park) and then the line to check in it took close to 40 minutes to get to our room. Their Happy Hour was out of food/snacks within 30. I let the staff know, but it never was refilled. I did let this staff know one more time and they suggested my kids go get something to eat at the resteraunt.

The elevated took too long to down n up awhile you're waiting for one. The bar area was good service. The breakfast area was nice but we needed help and Direction where the food was. Couldn't find the silverware, napkins

Front desk had exceptional service. The young lady in charge of valet parking had a bad attitude and dismissive when approached. The cleaning needs to have higher standards. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash were empty. Had to go buy a bar soap in the middle of the night. Elevators were very slow over 15 minutes waiting for my floor. Had to walk to the other side of building to get a different elevator.

Stayed at embassy a night before a cruise. Checked out personally with no issue on the bill. Returned a week later from our cruise to notice a $322.50 charge to my credit card. No new correspondence of this charge from embassy. Found a new bill in my Hilton App that showed it was a smoking charge. My wife and I did not smoke or vape inside the hotel anywhere. Tried to get ahold of the manager for over a week. When we did get ahold of Andreas (the manager) he just kept saying “there is nothing he can do.” He said the detector went off yet there was no real investigation when this “incident” occurred. Very frustrating month of going back and forth with Hilton then ultimately coming down to the manager’s decision of declining to remove the charge. Never had a problem like this with any other Hilton Hotel. Stayer Beware.

Disappointed in this hotel. Will likely stay somewhere else when in the area again. There is no room service or room cleaning, they take $200 from you at check in for “incidentals”, parking is $45 a night and they charge you $68 after check out for $30 a day “destination fee” for no reason. We charged nothing to the room and I’ve never had a hotel charge us after we left for MORE fees. They just charge you any and all “fees” with made up names to take more of your money. Will choose somewhere else more reasonable next time.

I was doing an overnight trip in Tampa to go to the aquarium and I picked this hotel because when I traveled for business I could always count on a good room at embassy suites.
The hotel is in a great location and it has a great view and a great pool and the staff was excellent. The room, however, was a different story! It appears that maybe recently they did some renovations however it was a really sloppy job. The furniture that they put in the room was not sized it was very crammed and uncomfortable. The furniture was also extremely cheap, it was hard to even sit on the couch. The bed was completely shot but it had a newer mattress pad the sheets on the bed were staying as well as the chairs, pretty obvious in the pictures. This killed the deal for me, might as well stay in a lower end if this is what you get from embassy.
