Was impressed with the service here. And the location is such a vibe. Everyone helped despite my disheveled appearance.

Came in looking with intent to spend some money. Went in to the fitting room and had to keep popping back out to get additional sizes for myself. Employees and manager were busy complaining about other customers and shifts. I’ve had positive experiences at Madewell stores, just not this one. This is the third or fourth experience that sucked so I felt motivated to write a review.

Love the store itself but unfortunately the manager Stephanie made inappropriate comments towards my friend about how she did not understand her Spanish accent when asking for help directing her towards the petite section. She then made comments and jokes MULTIPLE times very loud behind her back, to myself a fellow white person, and her coworker thinking it was appropriate and funny. I do not agree or stand by this type of treatment towards people in general or customers.

There were at least 4 employees working when I walked in. Was not greeted when entering, or walking around. Was not offered any help while going in and out of dressing room to look for sizes. Employees were too busy talking to each other and asking if things looked good on them lol. They obviously need more training in customer service from management down.

Love this unique shoppe on the main drag of Hyde Park Village. They offer jeans, jeans, jeans, and other clothes and jewelry. I love the long sleeve basic white shirt--and it's on sale today. I found a great long brown coat. All items are Madewell brand: shoes, boots, jewelry, and the big deal: turn in your old jeans for a discount on a new pair!

I came in,hopeful, after reading tons of reviews on Reddit about where to find good quality women’s jeans.
The associate, Juan, was super helpful and was able to help me find the perfect pair. I told him issues I’d had with sizing and fitting in the past and he suggested a pair of super comfy jeans. They were perfect. They were $138 so on the pricier side but nothing more than I have spent combined on low quality jeans.
Overall, great experience and Hype park is also very pretty. Once more, shout out to Juan!

I had never shopped at Madewell before but will be a regular customer after my experience yesterday. Harrison helped me to find the perfect jeans and was incredibly kind, patient (I have to give a shoutout to all the jeans he brought to ensure I got exactly the look I was going for along with explaining the different types of cuts multiple times), knowledgable, and uplifting. He even let me know about the insider program and some promotions running with it that I was eligible to take advantage of. I would be lying if I said shopping wasn't hard for me as a bigger bodied individual but it was so refreshing to have a great experience and feel confident while shopping for the first time in a while. Madewell truly stands for inclusivity! I hope at the very least he gets recognized but he absolutely deserves a promotion or raise for his incredible customer service. Him and his team truly made my day yesterday-Madewell is definitely lucky to have this staff!

I love Madewell, I’ve been shopping this brand for 15 years and it’s pretty much the only brand in my closet. Their clothes fit well and always have that little something extra that makes each piece special. But this location- I don’t know what their problem is. A majority of the time in the last few years the service and the attitude of the people who work here just awful. I don’t know, maybe I don’t look elite enough or I’m too old. Who knows. But this last time (11/15/23) I was shopping here was the worst. The manager (also a bit of an attitude) and the lady in the red glasses, high bun and Canadian tuxedo were working. And the glasses lady, I don’t know, was just looking for someone to bully, she had a criticism about everything I was doing, I was shopping wrong, the fit I picked up was wrong, (I just wanted to try them on to compare to another pair in a different fit I already own. I know they weren’t going to fit because they don’t carry the size I need in store, but at least I could get an idea then size down online) she IS NOT on any level familiar with Madewell product offerings and jeans fit but wanted to argue with me about that too, would have taken 2 seconds to look it up online or check a pair right there in the store to verify- this is the brand jeans I’ve been wearing exclusively from like 15 years, I am at least a bit familiar with them. She just kept interrupting me to tell me I don’t know anything about jeans, I don’t understand fit, on and on without letting me get a word in edgewise about WHY I wanted to try on a pair that likely won’t fit. So I put back the stuff I tried on and was about to leave, but she had to go out of her way to try to lecture me about all her fashion qualifications and her degree and her experience in retail, before proceeding to tell me I look bad, my clothes are wrong, my jeans don’t fit. I’m sure she would have kept on if I hadn’t just turned my back on her and walked out.Seriously lady, you know nothing about me. The jeans I’m wearing today. These are my comfy jeans, I had a procedure done on my stomach recently, I wanted comfy. And I’ve tried them in a size smaller and I like the way these feel better and I don’t care what you think about the fit. It’s Wednesday night, I’m going for comfort. I have two MFA’s and used work tailoring and making custom clothing. None of my MFA’s are in fashion sure, but I didn’t just crawl out from a rock yesterday, I’m a professional artist. Not that I care if she knows this, I don’t have anything to prove to anyone and don’t feel the need to lecture strangers about my qualifications, but just putting it out there that I’m not the idiot she really wanted to treat me as. What a nasty, exclusionary attitude and all this coming from someone who obviously doesn’t have a full length mirror at home. What a hypocrite.Kind of soured the whole brand for me. And that person has no business being in any kind of service job, she’s on a major ego trip and she’s a bully.

For a brand that has such limited recognition in the area, you would think that positive customer interaction would be top priority. However, you would be wrong. The staff at the Hyde Park location have a contemptuous attitude toward shoppers, especially those of different ethnicity or gender than their own. Shopping here feels hostile and exclusionary, more so if your questions are deemed inferior to the staff's experience or education: a fact they love to make you aware of to further demean you. I would recommend shopping anywhere else for your clothing needs in the surrounding 100 mile radius. Awful, awful people. Also, if you plan to arrive within the timeframe of the hours posted on Madewell's own website, throw that notion out of the window. The staff decide the hours they plan to be open on their own. I wonder how Madewell's corporate office would react knowing that sales goals are not being met due to staff locking the doors early so those same employees can go next door to imbibe alcohol until too impaired to conduct themselves in public. In summary, I would suggest anyone interested in women's fashion, look elsewhere at the many options Tampa and its surrounding areas have to offer. Unless you like abuse, then this place is for you.

I had a fantastic experience at Madewell, from the moment I walked in, the staff was warm, friendly, and attentive. Harrison, in particular, stood out with his exceptional knowledge of their denim collection and promos. He took the time to understand my preferences and body type, guiding me towards jeans that would flatter my figure. Harrison's expertise in styling and fashion trends helped me explore different options and find a pair that fit like a dream. The entire process felt effortless, and I appreciated the genuine interest they showed in ensuring I left the store satisfied. I cannot recommend Madewell enough, and their talented team, especially Harrison, truly made my shopping experience a breeze.

Where are people getting money from to buy these kinds of clothes :(The store is beautiful. I usually visit this place when I am in the Hyde Park area in the hopes of finding something on discount which never happened in between.

Store is moderately clean, organized, decent. Workers are absolutely useless. I mean, their ire is totally uncalled for and their service is nonexistent. I understand the environment around Hyde Park is full of these entitled youths who have lived in privilege all their lives, surely it is these very same people who are later employed by these businesses... The arrogance of the personalities in the store was rampant, I'm certain it's top-bottom makes you wonder what is going on with their regional management. Shame.

Clean organized store, had to wander around the store to realize they didn’t carry mens. None of the 5 people working spoke to me.
