I honestly was hesitant coming to a gym, I don’t typically work out but I’m glad I found this place! They’re very welcoming and the equipment was very nice, I’d definitely recommend this gym for anyone who’s looking for a gym to feel comfortable in. Also very friendly staff and great location!

Solid gym, never overcrowded even during peak hours. Machines and weights are in good shape. 24 hour access is convenient.

Optimum has been my main gym for over 2 years now and I’ve never felt more comfortable while working out. The owner continues to upgrade the equipment and keeps the gym tidy and clean! All of the staff have been welcoming and some know me on a name basis. With it being more of an intimate sized gym, very rarely is it over crowded. People are in there for a reason and you can tell!I’ve referred 10+ people to Optimum and all have agreed that, they love their new gym! This will always be my main gym for as long as I live in Tampa!

I’ve been coming for over 2 years. Love the old school body builder vibe. Staff is friendly, open 24/7 to members. Every guest I’ve brought loves all the leg and glute machines.

When I first walked in, it felt like the gym was more interested in my wallet than in welcoming me. They asked for $340 straight up, which covered the first, last month's fees and a $99 initiation fee. For a gym of its size, it seemed a bit much. Bottom line: it wasn't the best experience. If you're thinking of joining, just make sure you're okay with those upfront costs.

Here for the bodybuilding show. It’s located in a small shopping center.Parking isn’t the best.Once I walked in I was overwhelm with equipment stacked on top of each other. The gym is small with too much equipment.I was bumping into people and there were about 30 people in the gym.The back area was very hot.Overall the gym was warm. They did not have cable lat machine.Limited cardio machines.I felt for $25 day pass for a small gym was ridiculous.Did not get a good workout . Too cluttered and too many people .

Best gym I’ve ever been to! My trainer holds me accountable, it’s affordable, and such a welcoming environment. Has every piece of equipment you need. Coming from someone who is gym shy this is by far the best experience I’ve ever had! Thanks Optimum

The attendant didn't really know what she was doing, and the owner or manager has a permanent scowl on his face which was a putoff but I guess whatever, it's a gym. It's a decent gym if money is not an object. Unfortunately money is an object, so I almost choked at the $100 enrollment and $65 monthly fee. I can't even fathom how they are asking for first and last month fees up front like it's some kind of apartment rental agreement. This was the first time I had ever even seen that tried at a gym. (Let's be honest, we all know you will keep that last month fee if I switched!) All in all they were asking for $230 which is genuinely mental for what they provide. The gym has an actual bazillion machines which is both good and bad: you are less likely to wait, there is a lot of variety, and its less important if one machine is broken, but it is pretty cramped (but workable) and some machines are old/decrepit bargain finds they picked up cheap, like I'm talking some early 2000s stuff. The AC seemed to be set to a cool and crisp 82 degrees which kinda sucked. Combined with a lack of fans in some places like the far corners and you won't have to lift weights to break the sweat you're looking for.Again I really cant comprehend the $100 enrollment. I get that you want people to have a 'gym for life' or something, but jacking up enrollment to almost 3x what other gyms charge is just an anticompetitive tactic to stop people from leaving to better gyms and incentivising stagnation (clearly) of your own gym. Just really left a bad taste as an avid gym tester who has been around the block! No hard feelings!

Gym & equipment are kept in great condition. The staff are friendly and responsive. There is a nice work-out culture in the gym with a lot of serious bodybuilders and plenty of space to work out.

Stopped in town and went here for a lift. Wow. This is a gym rats dream. Such a variety of machines to choose from! Could be in there all day! Wish they would get a bigger space so it didnt feel so crowded in there from all the machines but overall super awesome gym!

Optimum is the best gym in Tampa! There are so many machines to use for all body parts and you never have to wait to use them like you do at EOS & Crunch. The gym never gets super crowded, so it’s much easier to get a good workout in. I highly recommend!

Optimum is by far the best training and fitness center in all of Tampa and further!!!! I’ve always tried to stay away from the $10 chain gyms, and I have found the place where I feel the most motivated and so comfortable. They also have the best machines, and are always adding new fun ones! 10/10 recommend

The best equipped gym in Tampa. When I moved down I checked out 4 other gyms and this is the one that stood out to me. It has the best equipment, staff is friendly and environment is great!

Amazing facility with a huge variety of unique equipment. If you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy a killer leg day in Tampa this is a must, the employee at the front desk was super helpful, gave me a tour of the place before my workout and broke down the membership costs for me… Happy to have found my gym home!

Great old school gym with a huge selection of equipment, lots of machines you don't see often especially for lower body. Had the best workout of our holiday here!
