LADIES BEWARE! DO NOT VISIT THIS SHOP WITHOUT A MALE PRESENT. THERE IS ALOT OF DECEPTIVE PRACTICES AT THIS LOCATION. I VISITED 02/20 AFTER CALLING TO ENSURE MY 2 NEW TIRES WOULD BE THERE FOR MY CAR TO BE TOWED AS IT WAS THE CLOSEST TIRE SHOP TO ME. OTHERWISE I NEVER USE THESE TYPE OF COMPANIES BECAUSE I KNOW THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE. BUT I REALLY NEEDED TO GET TO WORK AND HAD 2 FLAT TIRES. I CALLED AND SPOKE WITH CHRIS WHO ADVISED ME THE TIRES WOULD BE ON A TRUCK AND TO THE SHOP BY 10:30A. SO I ARRIVED AND WAITED. ONCE THERE I WAS GREETED BY JOSE AND CHRIS WHO SEEMED FLUSTERED AS IT APPEARS CORPORATE WAS THERE. THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RED FLAG. I ASKED ON THE PHONE HOW MUCH THE 2 TIRES AND LABOR CAME UP TO AND WAS TOLD $215. THE TIRES GOT THERE AND IT TOOK AN HOUR TO PUT ON 2 TIRES WHICH IS ALL I ASKED THEM TO DO. WHILE WAITING I OVERHEARD JOSE SAY THEY ORDERED THE WRONG SIZE TIRE BUT I DIDN'T THINK THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT ME AS THERE WERE OTHER CUSTOMERS WAITING IN THE LOBBY. AFTER WAITING AN HOUR JOSE RANG ME UP AND THE TOTAL WAS $230. I'M LIKE WHY IS IT MORE THAN $215? HE'S LIKE "OH MAYBE THEY FORGOT TO TELL YOU TAX". I REVIEWED THE RECEIPT AND SAW THEY CHARGED FOR THE VALVE CAPS WHICH I DIDN'T ASK FOR LIKE JUST USE THE PREVIOUS CAPS THAT WERE ON THE TIRES. I WAS IN SUCH A RUSH TO GET TO WORK I LEFT. ONCE RIDING I NOTICE MY TIRE PRESSURE LIGHTS WERE ON WHICH THEY ARE USUALLY ONLY ON IF THE TIRE PRESSURE IS LOW. SO MY DAD MET ME AT WORK AND NOTICED THEY GAVE ME 2 DIFFERENT SIZE TIRES THE FRONT ONE IS BIGGER THAN THE BACK ONE. ALSO THE CAPS WERE OLD PLASTIC CAPS. I DO NOT BELIEVE THEY EVEN PUT ON THE NEW ONES LIKE THEY CHARGE ME FOR. I'VE BEEN VERY BUSY. TODAY, ISTOPPED BY TO ADVISE THEM OF MY FINDING. CHRIS AND JOSE WERE THERE I WALKED IN AND SPOKE WITH CHRIS HE CAME OUT AND TOLD ME IT WAS PEPBOYS POLICY IF THEY ARE PUTTING 2 NEW TIRES ON 1 SIDE THAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO REMOVE A TIRE FROM THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE CAR TO AVOID SWAYING. I HAD NEVER HEARD SUCH A THING AND HAVE HAD TIRES CHANGED IN THE PASS AND THIS SUPPOSED METHOD HAD NEVER BEEN DONE AND THE CAR WAS FINE. BASICALLY HE REFERRED ME TO JOSE.. JOSE CAME OUT AND ACCUSED THE WRONG SIZE TIRE TO ALREADY HAVE BEEN ON THE CAR ALTHOUGH IT IS A BRAND NEW TIRE AND ALL MY TIRES PREVIOUS TO VISITING THIS SHOP WERE ALL THE SAME SIZE. HE WAS ARGUMENTATIVE AND IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM WAS RESOLUTION BASED SO AFTER GOING IN AND ASKING CHRIS FOR THE NUMBER TO CORPORATE AND REALIZING THAT NUMBER DID NOT WORK AND THE STORE DOESN'T HAVE A SERVICE MANAGER RIGHT NOW AND I SEE WHY THEY ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND FRAUDS TO BE SPECIFIC. SINCE THIS REVIEW IS JUST TO ADVISE CUSTOMERS TO BEWARE I WILL ALSO WRITE BBB TO MAKE THEM AWARE OF THEIR DECEPTIVE PRACTICES.

Had an appointment, they never even looked at my car that day, tried to charge me over a 1k for a problem i do not have. Stole my personal belongings from my car and despite numerous calls will not fess up or return my items.

Brought my car here because my check engine light was on and paid 800 dollars for who knows what. I have now brought my car back as instructed by calling to get it checked for the FOURTH time because the light is back on and they have still not fixed it but they have scammed me into paying for it and have now not fixed it for the fourth time. This time though I spoke to a different person who was rude and didn’t know the situation and proceeded to ask me to leave my car as it takes them hours on hours to just read the code on my car that I paid 800 to be fixed and have brought it back now many times and they do nothing but have taken my money.

Dropped my car off to get a set of new tires. When I picked up my car, I was just pulling out of my parking space, when I realized something is wrong. My front right tire was completely flat.
Those guys had me drive my car up to the bay. I didn't like the idea of driving on completely flat tire. They replaced the stem valve and the tire appears to be holding air.
The manager had the mechanics check the other valves. You would think after that they would check the psi as well. I've never left with new tires and not be even or within 1 psi. I was between 32 and 38.

When there on Saturday, 7 Dec 2024. I needed to get my tire patched because there was a screw in the center of the tread. I was happy they could get me in the same day, but I can't say I am pleased with the attention to detail. It was a simple job, but they left lubricant on the outer part of my rims and did not put my custom metal valve stem cap back on my valve. If it was a cheap plastic one, it really wouldn't be an issue, but it was a matching set of custom metal caps for all 4 tires. I went back on 9 Dec to see if they had my valve stem cap. The guy working the desk did make an effort to check around for it but couldn't locate it. Since a couple days went by, I'm sure it just got tossed out.
In the end, I would prefer to be treated like a customer, and not a number. How can I trust the workmanship of patching my tired if the technician can't use a rag to wipe down my rim, and put my valve stem cap back on my vehicle. I try to support my local businesses but little things like this make it difficult. Tire Kingdom is just up the road so I will try there for my next tire issue or change.

There was no communication on the full scope of the issue with the vehicle. The work that was done was a waste and was not warrantied as previously communicated. I am disappointed, but the Brandon location also did work that was unnecessary so it looks like it is a trend with this company. I would avoid.

I went to punch a tire, they told me 3 hours, three hours later I called and they told me 45 minutes more, two hours later I went without them calling me and they told me that they couldn't fix my tire for x reasons, 5 hours to They didn't solve anything, very bad job

Came for a “Free Engine Light Code Pull Service Package” then they proceed to tell me it will be $99??? $99 just to plug something in to my car and tell me what the issue could be if there is one lol that is highway robbery. Maybe don’t offer free deals on your website if it’s a blatant lie

Worst Pep Boys in Tampa, they feel as if they own the shop. Pooor customer service, they don’t care about your time, terrible communication and very rude!

Manager told me it would be 323 for 2 new tires out the door before tax and then hit me with a 69 dollar installation fee after the fact but what can you do 6 hours from home

I had a terrible experience at this Pep Boys. They didn’t fix the original problem with my car, and on top of that, they actually broke other parts of my car while trying to fix it. Their work was sloppy, and they clearly didn’t pay attention to what they were doing. When I went back to talk to them about all the damage they caused, they didn’t care at all and didn’t even try to make things right. If you want your car to come out in worse shape than it went in, then go here. Otherwise, take your car somewhere else.

Service here is terrible. Staff here doesn't communicate anything. Had to get my window motor fixed on my drivers side. Got the referral from the actual warranty company. I come here, gave them the keys and waited. About a half an hour to 40mins later. One of the workers tells me that when they contacted the warranty company, they said I wasn't on it. I called the warranty company that provided me with the referral to be here, they were confused. Come to find out, they didn't give the warranty company correct information. When that got squared away, I was sitting and waiting for an hour, almost, two hours and some change. I saw people come and go, as well as the time. So I decided to ask how much longer it was going to take. Another worker then tells me I have to wait, two more hours. That the warranty people haven't even submitted payment yet. I'm just confused at the fact that I had been here more than 3 hours and no update on what's going on or anything. Worse service I've ever had at a shop. I will never come back here again. I also saw them with other customers. They don't work well with others. Have ugly attitudes like they don't want to be there. I don't see any initiative to want to help the customers. Just there to barely do the job right.

This place scheduled my service appt for 10 am Saturday, just so when I get there at that time (10:05), they told me there’s 3 cars ahead of me. It’s like this place doesn’t know what the term “appointment” means

Apparently the price they quote you for a set of new tires doesn’t include the LABOR to install them. Had no choice but to go here due to punctured tire, won’t happen again.
