Picnic Island Park is a versatile outdoor destination that caters to various interests. The park features a beautiful beach area ideal for fishing, swimming, and sunbathing, although some visitors have reported an occasional unpleasant odor. The dog-friendly section of the beach is a highlight, with shallow waters where furry companions can play. Visitors can also enjoy disc golf, bocce ball, and a well-equipped playground. The park offers ample free parking and convenient restrooms, though one reviewer noted a stench in one of the facilities. Overall, Picnic Island Park is a hidden gem that provides a serene and enjoyable experience, particularly for those visiting early or staying until sunset to avoid the on-site ranger. The picnic shelters are a popular feature, but guests are advised to reserve them in advance if planning a group gathering.
A great spot to enjoy a family day out, bring the kids and the dogs. Perfect for picnics and fishing, too! I love coming here

Nice area to relax and unwind. Although the fishing pier is closed, some people still enter at their own risk. The sunset scenery is beautiful and definitely worth the trip.
