The new ownership of the Pinch a Penny on Cross Creek in New Tampa were there for me when my old pool pump failed. They found me a replacement pump that was not only more quiet but will pay for itself in 5-6 years thanks to the energy savings. Their craftsman did a great job with the install and the communications and support with the store was excellent.

Our pool pump failed and the new owners of Pinch a Penny on Cross Creek Blvd in New Tampa found us a replacement and saw to the repairs/replacement in a timely manner. The workmanship was first rate and the communications with the store was great. The pump they recommended to replace my old pump will actually pay for itself in 5-6 years thanks to the energy savings. The technician was awesome and when he needed a part the store owner ran it out to our house rather than to delay the install.

Had an appointment scheduled. I waited pretty much all day for the technician to arrive. After I called to follow up, they changed my appointment for a totally different date and no one notified me of the change. I wasted the entire day waiting for nothing.

My husband and I had a few issues with the pool and the spa. TJ, the owner personally came out and walked us through the entire system. We needed to wait on some parts for the spa, but once they came in.... they installed them and our pool/spa works like it is brand new!! From the pumps, the skimmer, the cleaner, the pool timer, the main drain, the heater and the spa they know their stuff. Everything now works perfectly. Thanks Pinch A Penny!!!J & L

I first contracted Pinch a Penny 3 weeks ago to fix a suction problem on my pump. I was asked to place a 125.00 deposit for good faith and could be used if I decided to accept their bid for services. I paid it and scheduled my appointment and it took 1 week to get her. The Maintience worker did come and spent about 2 hours reviewing all of my equipment and told me the housing and some O-Rings needed to be replaced and a bid would be sent o me. This is when the nightmare started. The bid came the next day, I emailed /called and accepted the bid. They scheduled the work for the next week on Tuesday.Tuesday no show no call-I called and they apologized they for missing the appointment and scheduled for Thursday. Thursday late day I got a call and said the part did not fit. No one alarmed me they were here, I work from home, and my office is next to the window outside where the pump is located, Do not believe they ever came. Scheduled new appointment Tuesday of the next week.Tuesday 3 weeks in no show no call. I called asked where the mechanic was, lady in store was not sure and would call me back. No call backI called the next day , only to be told the part was not in and they were sorry for not calling. Pool is turning Green at this point!!!!Was promised the right part was ordered and was "Guaranteed" they would have it installed and working, plus treat my pool for any color issues etc.. by Friday or earlier.Call Friday 1 PM Est, where is the mechanic, lady wasn't sure and needed to call him but it was on his schedule to come to my house. She would call me back. No call, I called 5:18 PM Est where is the mechanic, was put on hold , only to be told by her that the part was still not in and wasn't sure when it would arrive.I am mortified by the lack of respect and customer service from this branch of Pinch a Penny. Absolutely the worst service I have ever had, and I promise to share this on all my social media pages in heritage Isles and the surrounding communities.Going on four weeks now and I am still unsure when my pool will be repaired, yet they changed my CC right away!!I highly recommend "NOT" using this branch for anything, and find another solution if you want it done efficiently and on time@!!!!!

As a new and first time pool owner, it’s a little overwhelming. The crew at PaP is amazing. I need to call out Jamie, who is absolutely wonderful and extremely knowledgeable. She take the time to explain exactly what I should be doing and answers my many questions. I’d be lost without her so early on.

I can't believe it took me so long to change to this store. The service is so much better than we have ever had in 7+ years here. Jim is our guy and he is the best we have ever had. He actually cares about what he does and does it very well. He goes above and beyond. Thank you Pinch A Penny 153 (TJ & employees) and a special thanks to our guy Jim.

My experience with this Pinch A Penny has been less than a 1 star. TJ the owner is rude and has left my pool broken and leaking. I would NOT recommend anyone to use this location and deal with TJ as he is RUDE and belittles women. The location is on Morris Bridge and Cross Creek Blvd.

I spoke with a lady at this store yesterday regarding my pool pump not working I gave her the name on the pump told her it was a 1 HP and the model # she came back to me after a couple of minutes on hold and told me it would cost $600+ for a replacement. I told her that was far to expensive. Called Pinch A Penny on Bruce B Downs they quoted me $300 + I took my pump to them this morning and they exchanged my motor all for $333.00 I and my wife installed it today and within a couple of hours all working great. Called Pinch A Pool on Cross Creak and asked for the Manager/Owner to call me back so I could let him know what had happened, No surprises NO CALL BACK!!I spoke to soon TJ did call me back took the time to listen to the problem and was very concerned of the poor service I received, and did his very best to put the whole matter right. TJ I understand you cannot be at your store the whole time. Your response to me was very encouraging and I will use your store again for my pool supplies as before.Author John Phillips
